yeah, i re-watched last night, and where i thought Tiffani said, "it's something she's dealt with before" she actually says "endometriosis". As you can tell I wasn't really paying attention the first time through. Either that or I'm going deaf, lol. Both are equally possible.

I have Endometriosis and it can be extremely painful - and I mean excruciating. For some people the pain is easily managed, for others it isn't. Some people require surgery, others don't. Some become infertile because of Endo, others don't. Each case is different. But I could see where there could be complications from this illness that would require her to take a few months off.

Reading comments on other boards about this was rather frustrating. It's incredible the way certain people are willing to play doctor expressing ignorant opinions about another person's medical condition. I really hope she doesn't read soap boards.

Whatever treatment KS is receiving, I hope that it is helping her, and she feels better soon.
I don't think you can judge the posters for speculating considering Kirsten Storm's partying past.

AuroraPhoenix I definitely wish you the best as well as Kirsten ... I have heard about the horrible experience of having Endo and it's a good thing that Kirsten is finally taking a long break to seek treatment for her illness.

Regarding the jump in visitors.....I think I know why this thread has been read by 26,000 so far. Viewers who were watching Dirty Soap probably searched Google after hearing about Kirsten Storms being recast and this thread is 2nd on the Google search results for "Kirsten Storms recast"

It's first for "Kirsten Storms sick" lol.

The only time I remember the word Endometriosis was on the episode of 90210 where Kelly thinks she's pregnant with Brandon's baby.

I did a quick search and read that its very painful and one of the symptoms was fatigue- something that she showed on yesterday's show.

It wasn't the speculating that bothered me, Darra. I understand why people would speculate before the truth came out. I could also understand someone who knows nothing about the disease making ignorant remarks.

What bothered me were the catty comments made by some after her condition was revealed. It just seemed incredibly mean-spirited to me. Even after it was explained to these posters just how serious Endo can be, and that some women with Endo have to have hysterectomies and/or suffer constant pain, there were people who felt the need to belittle KS. Going so far as to suggest that Endo wasn't a big deal and she could work if she wanted to, that Endo couldn't possibly force someone to leave work.

There is no way for them to know that. None of us know - myself included - just how bad her case of Endo is. Each case is different. Some cases are mild and easily managed. Others are severe and the affects can be devastating. Since this is something I have personal experience with, I thought I should chime in both there - and here - to point out that Kirsten's claim is entirely possible. Endo really could incapacitate someone for months.

Perhaps, if I didn't have this illness myself, it wouldn't have hit a nerve, but I do, and knowing what she might be going through it upset me. I apologize if I was shrill.
