International Distribution of Classic P&G Soaps

I don't know why P&G doesn't just set up their own video website ala Hulu but just for classic P&G soaps that's solely ad supported by P&G products (or you can pay a montly membership fee for no ads or increased quality or whatever).

I thought that '1988' date was weird unless it was just a typo since, for my understanding, most soaps (P&G and ABC most notibly) didn't start saving stuff until 1978. Also, GL was already being shown in other countries by the early 1980s (I believe), so that material had to have been saved somehow.
