If you're not familiar with ATWT, there are definitely some episodes that probably won't interest you, but there are a lot of episodes that should entertain you as well even if you don't really know much about the show. Of course, this is coming from someone who was already familiar with the majority of the characters/storylines. I don't really know how someone who had never seen the show before would respond. |

This is super cool news for fans of the show and I hope you who buy it really enjoy it. Deciding upon 20 shows from such a legacy program could not be easy! I hope it sells well enough for other soaps to consider some DVD sets. I'd love for Days to produce a full set. They could do classic episodes like Christmas shows, weddings, etc.....but I'd also love it if they would do 2hour summary DVDs. Like "The Possession" Story cut down to 90 minutes or so. "Cruise Of Deception", "Kristen Comes Undone", etc etc. They could cut them down to 90-120minutes and what a gift to the fans. Our luck we would get "Safe: Deluxe Edition 12 DVD Set with audio commentary from Molly Burnett" lol. |

I spoke with Linda last week and told her she was on the set. Her first question was which character she was playing (she appeared on ATWT again in the early 90s around the time she was going through her first cancer treatments). Betsy subbed for Eileen when she was ill previously so when Eileen left I guess it seemed like the easiest thing, plus the resemblance. I didn't remember at all that Betsy was in two of those great weddings until I re-watched again this summer. I tried to get as many different faces as possible in the episodes. If I had another week would have been able to do more. |

A bit of both. There are episodes that play on my nostalgia like the Hogan Sheffer episodes, but then there are episodes featuring people that in the history of ATWT don't even warrant a footnote and are entertaining. Bottom line, all soap fans should be droping $20 if they hope to see anything similar with the other shows. |

I enjoyed what I have seen so far for the most part. It really depends on what you like to watch as the pacing is different from today's soaps. The casts are large on most episodes with a lot of interaction. What is interesting is how some of the weddings seemed more focused on people who weren't the bride and groom. |

Thanks, guys. I'll most likely get it. I really want the set to do well, so other soaps will follow suit. |

Well, I'm definitely enjoying some of the episodes and I was never a regular As the World Turns watcher. The only people that I recognize are Barbara, Lisa, Kim, Bob, and Nancy. If you're a soap fan, I would go for it. Plus, you now own a piece of television history that you can watch down the line and remember. |

Spotted Donald May (ex-Adam Drake, Edge; ex-Alex Wheeler, Texas) as Raymond Speer in scenes with Whit McColl. |

So I wonder what Roger would have liked to include that isn't in the set. I'm almost halfway through disk three, but too much television tonight to watch any additional episodes. |

Watched the Return of James Stenbeck last night. This has been one of my favorites so far. I had forgotten all about Duncan's sister, Beatrice! Also had forgotten about Lyla singing. Spotted Broadway star Terrence Mann (Cats, Les Miserable, Beauty & the Beast, etc). He played the guy hitting on Lyla at the bar. I'm trying to savor these slowly but it's so tempting to devour them all at once! |

Great news, Roger! I hope we get to see a Guiding Light set released soon. That's one of the ones that I'm really interested in getting. There was an article about it in CBS Soap in Depth last week. |

You know my thrifty bargain-hunting self was all over that while 2-day(!) shipping is free. Great deal. I'm hoping for a GL (or AW) release soon, as well. |

The Christmas episodes sound great! I had no idea Lyla and Penny both returned for Christmas in 2000. Wasn't a big follower of the soap back then. That was surprising as by the 2000s, most of the past vets were basically forgotten. |

I'm getting this for Christmas!!! SO EXCITED!!! Hoping that eventually we get Another World and Santa Barbara released. Oh, and Loving and Search For Tomorrow would be pretty cool too, followed by current soaps like DAYS, B&B, and Y&R. Hell, I'd buy any soap you guys release pretty much, except maybe GL and GH, as I never really got into those shows. |

I'm really impressed by the speed of which things are coming out lately. It makes me wish I had a higher budget for entertainment right now so I could keep up, LoL. |

I'd be buying it for the episodes themselves, not because they are 'CarJack' related |
