A new generation of celebrities are gonna get Punk’d.

After months of rumors, MTV is officially reviving the hidden-camera prank classic, ordering a new version of Punk’d to series. Jason Goldberg and Ashton Kutcher are back on board as executive producers. But the show’s host is…

… a different question. MTV plans to announce the show’s host/hosts during its New Years Eve party live telecast next week. Access Hollywood reported months ago that a new show was in the works, using different celebrity hosts for each episode — and noting in the premiere that Justin Bieber is the man in the van.

MTV wouldn’t confirm any details about the show. But it’s fair to assume that Kutcher himself, now costarring on CBS’ Two and a Half Men, won’t likely be on camera. And an announcement with details about the show is firmly tied to the network’s NYE in NYC 2012 telecast on Dec. 31.

Demi Lovato and Tyler Posey of MTV’s Teen Wolf will host the holiday special with musical performances by host Demi Lovato, along with Selena Gomez, J Cole, Jason Derulo, and Mac Miller from MTV’s Times Square studio.

You know things are bad when they are actually bringing back old shows that scored ratings for them back in the day.

They minus well bring back the Old V-jays while their on-it because MTV programming completely blows major chunks actually the only saving grace at the moment is MTVU and MTVJams but more and more people are opting out of cable because it's so expensive which is why I'm expecting those two channels to be cancel in the near future.
