It had been a wonderful evening and what I needed now, to give it the perfect ending, was a little of the Ludwig Van.

These last few episodes have been so good! Nora had me in tears when she was begging Troy to save Bo's life. HBS is such an amazing actress. It was awesome seeing Lindsay again...Finally. I wish Todd would have killed Hannah just because she's so annoying. Viki being shot and Clint having a heart attack and crumbing right beside her was very moving. :( So Soapy! I'm going to miss this show. |

My new favorite couple: Ford and the chandelier :P On the other hand, I will feel bad for Jess if she loses yet another baby daddy in a freak accident. As entertaining as I find crazy Mitch, I cheered when Johnny McBain took him out. Fitting end for the crazy old bastard. Yay! Both Jessica and Natalie are Clint's daughters. Clint, Vicki and Bo :'( I want them all to make it. Starr breaking out into song was a bit cheesy, but I KA has a beautiful voice and the montage was wonderful so I will overlook the cheese of it. Todd is a trip. I will miss this character. The other thing that struck me was how much better OLTL is compared to my other soap (DAYS) yet it's the one being cancelled. |

This show is killing me, as a relatively new viewer. I can't imagine what it's like for the people who've been watching for decades. I'm going to miss seeing Viki, Clint, Nora and Bo. |

I couldn't get the song at tweetmysong, but today I found it via facebook at this site http://soundcloud.com/paulglassmusic/tracks and could download it to my MP3 player. Great song for the end! |

Whoa, I didn't even know this was possible. Does "Days" or any other soap have this same capability with soundtracks? |

Friday's episode (hell, all of last week) showed why it's such a travesty that OLTL is going off the air. While the show consistently delivers (especially under RC) so material like last week is commonplace, you can tell that everyone at the show was giving it their all to give a satisfying payoff and to show what they are made of so people would follow the show to PP (sigh). I knew they would redeem Lindsay (although I did love how open-ended they left her status with her smirk outside the cabin...CH chose to play it that way since there was rumors of her returning to the show on PP so that was a nice touch) but I never suspected they would try to redeem Troy given what they had him do. NICE TWIST! HBS was fantastic. Her begging Troy to save Bo and trying to convince him she doesn't love him was powerful. What makes it all the more powerful is that Bo and Nora took years to get back together. They had other pairings and alot of turmoil and that made this all the more impactful. This is why Days has it all wrong with it's couples. You can break them up for a long time and, if you deem it fit for the characters, reunite them. It only makes future stories and twists all the richer. I think we all suspected that Jessica would be re-buked. RC wanted that from the moment he took over as HW. The writer's strike stopped him and I also think Frons kept standing in his way because of Natalie over the years too. Alison revealing it to Clint and Viki was an awesome moment and Alison was hilarious! She had so many awesome one liners and her little dancers were hysterical. OLTL writes the best psychos. Speaking of psychos, how awesome was Hannah. I love MF. She has always done a nice job as Hannah. I loved her "I want to go too" when everyone went with Cole to the hospital. Liked Starr hitting her too. The Todd/Hannah conversation was pretty amusing. Loved Todd's smirk as Hannah was taking away, calling him a killer. He knew he could tell her anything and no one would believe her. Classic Todd. No surprise Cole got shot IMO. The minute they brought up Patrick and Marty reaching out to him I had a feeling where they may go with this. I won't say what my theory is because I don't want to spoil it for anyone. I thought KA and KD were pretty good. I didn't mind Starr singing there because OLTL always does campy stuff like that and I can see Starr, a singer, turning to her music to comfort her there. That moment between Todd and Blair in the montage was magic. I hate what they did with Todd but damn do RH and KD have chemistry. Another reason I knew Cole would be shot is because I figured someone would step in to save Starr but I also I figured Ford would get shot so no way would they have James get shot too. That left Cole. Speaking of Ford, I expected him to be shot not hit by a chandelier! Classic RC swerve right there. That just adds to the horror movie feel of this whole blackout/prison break story. Very intense scenes with Jessica/ Natalie/Ford/John/Mitch and loved them juxtaposed against the Alison/Clint/Viki stuff. Jessica's history with Mitch and also the fact that both her and Natalie have lost loves tragically really played in these scenes. The moment between John and Natalie when John was threatening to shoot Mitch and Natalie just nodded and he fired was one of my favorite parts of the episode. Their history really played into that moment and not a word needed to be said. Awesome performances by all, including Roscoe Born whose awesome as Mitch and any bad guy he portrays. And that ending was perfect and so powerful. One of the best cliffhangers I can remember a soap having with so many lives in danger and it works so great because unlike Days, death isn't a joke on OLTL. People do come back from the dead but many stay dead too. They actually take risks and, given OLTL keeps things close to the vest and we knew many weren't going on with the show, the door is open for some major deaths. The montage was one of the best I've seen on soaps ever. I was hoping they would use that song KA sang for the final episode (and they still might) but it worked well here too. The lyrics matched perfectly with the content and all the stories too particularly John and Natalie finally coming together and kissing, Nora freeing Troy to help Bo, and the ending with Clint and Viki which was so heartbreaking and powerful. I'm happy they didn't have everyone who got hurt actually take a bullet because it would be a bit too much. I like that you had Ford with the chandelier and Clint with a heart attack (looks like the TV Guide article was wrong about him being shot too) just to add some variety to things. OLTL leaving the air is just senseless. No soap fought harder than this one to survive and under the worst conditions too (Frons). It had a ratings surge much like Days did in 2009 last year and it still got canned (if it were on NBC, I think it would've survived a bit with those numbers). It was the best soap on the air last year and still is the best soap on the air. Hell, you could argue it's the best soap of the past 5-6 years. It's not fair and, honestly, OLTL has never been "my" show like shows like Days, AW, Passions, Sunset Beach, PC, and a few others but losing this one may hit me just as bad as AW did and just as much as Days will someday. It has so much life in it and it's creatively strong enough to keep going. It doesn't deserve this. It really doesn't. |

Excellent, Excellent Post Phoenix! You summed up my thoughts and I'm sure many others. I too grew up on other soaps such as Dool, AW, GL and PSSNS and only started watching OLTL 5 years ago, but man this is hitting me hard, OLTL is full of life and I wish NBC could have picked it up. There were rumors they asked about it. |

I only watched the show for a couple storylines and tuned in to the end of today, partly just to see what they were doing to wrap things up. And I'm looking at this dark set, then this light one, and it's all pretty simple and clear, and it could have come across as cheesy and lame in a bad way. But it really was kind of awesome. It was like a play in certain moments. Whoever is responsible for this clearly loved the show. And they kind of just served everyone, at least in my opinion, because I don't even have that long-term connection or knowledge but it still resonated with me emotionally. There aren't a lot of shows, daytime or otherwise, that can pull that off. |

After OLTL's final episode airs, I'll feel much the way I did when Dark Shadows was cancelled. I was 15 at the time and was sad to be losing my favorite show, but in the meantime, I had a new baby brother to occupy my time. Now, 41 years later, I'm feeling sad again and this time there's nothing in my life to replace this loss. All I can say is, "Thanks for the memories." |

I used to watch OLTL years ago, so many fun memories - Casper Van Dien, Alex and Mortimer, Vicki's alternates, Dorian and David, Tina & Cord, Ryan Phillipe coming out storyline, Marty's rape... Tuned back in the past few days to see how it warps up .... OMG. I don't mean to bash, and no offense intended, but I just can't get over how bad the show is now. I can barely watch it. Last week's prison break and holding people at gunpoint was so cheesy - my partner was in the room and told me to shut that garbage off. Today's rediculousness with heaven and hell, the cheap horrible curtains, the walking around in circles...I ended up fast forwarding thru the last 40 minutes. If this is what people have been raving about the past few years, I'm clearly missing something. This is making Days looks oscar worthy, and days is pretty damn boring lately. |

Really liked Megan, Gabrielle and Luna's voiceovers at the beginning. Great idea! Natalie killing Mitch is fitting in deed after he killed Jared. Still not okay with that decision. I had no idea Crystal Hunt was returning as Stacy so I was pleasantly surprised to see her welcome Clint to hell. "I want my damn heart back!" And I love how Hell has stripper poles, LOL! Great ending with Luna telling Gabrille and Megan she could only save one person. Ford or Cole? |
