The only problem with that is even if Celeste was schedule for only 7-10 episodes, the writers may decide to keep her. Not saying that the recast will flop but when if she does? Than we are going to have to endure a bad actress, cause she was only added cause of the story, unless they get rid of her  I doubt it though, cause most actors they decide to keep on this show are the horrible ones and the ones they let go, are the best ones :shame: Edited by JamesScott_19, Jan 17 2012, 07:20 PM.

Days Of Our Lives is not Tanya Boyd's health care provider (at least as far as I know) so I really don't see why HIPAA would apply to the show commenting one way or the other. Days is not a health care provider, an insurer/health plan or a so-called "clearinghouse." I'm sure that Days would and perhaps in fact in this case did respect Tanya's wishes if she (1) had a health problem and (2) did not want it disclosed but that's not the same thing at all. |

James Reynolds talks some about Celeste in our interview http://www.welovesoaps.net/2012/01/reynolds.html but didn't clarify anything about Tanya herself. |

The way Reynolds talks, Celeste's return seems to be too important for the story to just be 7 to 10 episodes. I'm thinking it will go on longer and that was just the beginning taping schedule. If so, it'll be even more of a disappointment that Boyd won't be in the role, considering how important Celeste seems to be to the future story and how involved she'll be. Election day on Valentine's Day? Hmm... I would have liked to see this story play through to November, but it doesn't seem like MarDar are going to give us the twists and turns necessary to prolong the story that long, so wrapping it up for February sweeps is fine by me, even if I've never heard of an election taking place in February. |

He talked for a bit about the post-election stuff then realized none of it had aired so we left some of that out. LOL It has to be hard for them shooting so far in advance and doing interviews about stuff months old. |

The election stuff NEEDED to play out until November. It's all been played so far and paced like it would too. Stupid move. More unrealized potential. I'm guessing rewrites may have played a role in that story as well. I'm beyond tired of stories being dropped or rewritten on this show. Morons. |

I'm glad this crap isn't going to be dragged out that long. While November makes sense, the storyline is one giant snoozefest. |

It didn't have to be. They could've threw more out there to make it interesting BUT I was actually ok with how they were doing it providing they were taking this into November since it's starting to pick up now with Will being used in the middle of it and Jennifer and Abe looking like they are going to actually do something. Finally we have more being added into the mix and now they ate just going to rush it to an end in February? It's more rewrites and more garbage writing. This show can't pace stories or stick with them and that is the biggest issue. |

Maybe not, but it was and prolonging it would have only made it worse. I agree about their pacing and all of that, but at this point most of these current stories aren't going to get better by dragging them out even more. |

What frustrates me most is that this show makes already bad writing worse by how they choose to react to it. Sometimes you can take a boring or bad story and use it to set up something else or you can make something more out of it. You just need to consult with the writing team, look at fan reaction, decide what isn't working, make adjustments, think long-term, and go with whatever strategy you devise as a writing team. This show never does that. They just come up with stories which get messed up left and right by interference by Corday or others only to meander along for a few months before the plug is pulled on them. Then, we get a rushed ending or some stupid rewrite that makes no sense to end the story and it all just makes it worse and takes away loads of potential from the canvas. It's maddening. |

I'm glad the story is wrapping up too. No, it didn't have to be boring, but if the show had ideas to keep the story interesting, I'd think they would have used them in the first place. It's not like their ideas to keep the story engaging failed, but more like htey didn't actually try. I don't think the writers know how to block out a story in a way to keep people watching week to week. It seems like they thought they could just coast on the shocker of EJ running for mayor until sweeps.

I still think the mayor story was written to give Abe, Lexie, Nicole, and maybe even James something to do while they focused on getting the returnees integrated into the show. The only other people who have been connected in any way are Jennifer and Will. |

I could have seen that if the returnees hadn't been dropped into stories that were just as boring and poorly paced as the election story. Of course that could have been their plan, but they failed... |

Also looks like EJ may be winning by the tweet pics with JS in EJ's suits with the pin. M&D stories have potential but they wait til sweeps to give it any interest, then they pull something out of their asses and the audience is left with WTF? Edited by Liz<3Days, Jan 19 2012, 09:19 PM.

Thank goodness the election ends in February! I was beginning to think they'd drag it out until May. Time to move on to something else with EJ/Nicole/EJole. I hope that Tanya Boyd is okay, and I wish her a speedy recovery. But, it's a bummer than she won't be back. I just loved her portrayal as Salem's favorite psychic. I don't know if they can really do justice and recast Celeste successfully. |

I think having a mayoral election storyline at all was just a strange idea. There aren't really any stakes, and EJ as mayor seems like something he wouldn't want to do and which the people of Salem would be confused by. I think it would have been more interesting if EJ had begun blackmailing Abe and become the power behind the throne, leading Abe to some type of attack or collapse. Maybe Lexie could have learned what was going on, and been out for revenge.
