Has anyone watched yet? NBC has added it onDemand. I thought it was great. All the characters are good and work well off each other. McPhee and Messing are the standouts. |

I finally got around to watching the pilot and I quite enjoyed it, which is surprising because this type of show isn't my cup of tea. Some parts need expanding, like Debra Messing's husband who seemed all over the place in terms of characterization. McPhee's bf seemed too good to be true and knows way too much about Marilyn Monroe to be heterosexual. However, the show has a nice energy that keeps it flowing. |

I personally loved it! After GCB, this was my most anticipated show this season. I love Megan Hilty, and I can't wait to see what they do with her character. It'll be hard to suspend the disbelief that anyone would think Katherine McPhee (who IS truly better than I expected in this) could play Marilyn Monroe better than Hilty, but I'll go with it. I saw a clip with some scenes from later in the season, and it looked highly promising. Better than the pilot. Brian D'Arcy James in a good show - finally (fell in love with him a little when I found a bootleg for "The Apple Tree" with him and K.Chenoweth)! And Debra Messing back on TV, along with Anjelica Huston. Jack Davenport is sexy as all frak. |

I really wasn't expecting to like this show at all, but I decided to watch after reading all the great reviews. It was pretty good. I will say, I was bored during the musical numbers and the preview for the season wouldn't have convinced me to keep watching if I was on the fence. However, the cast and characters are great and the dialogue is nice too (which is becoming increasingly rare on network TV), so I'll keep watching. |
