Bye Deandre.
They didn't save him?

Thank god!

They said they can only use the save until top 5. Depending on how they are feeling the judges may just use it to use it if they still have it.

I am glad that Deandre is gone. I don't care for his singing style, and the way he bounces around and whips his hair around irritates me. Figures Jennifer wanted to save him. They should only save someone that has a shot at winning.

I think the right person went home. My favs are Philip, Skylar and Hollie. I must say that I find the judges comments very confusing at times. My head would be spinning if I was a contestant

My Rankings Tonight

(1) Jessica Sanchez --- didn't know the song, but Jessica was awesome as usual on Jazmine Sullivan.
(1) Phillip Phillips----really Phillip Phillips'd Maroon 5's Give A Little More.
(3) Joshua Ledet ---- surprisingly I've got him this high, did good on Bruno Mars
(4) Colton Dixon ---- good, but not as good as usual imho.
(4) Elisa Testone ----good, but not as good as she can be on Lady Gaga's "You and I", hope she's safe though.

BY FAR THE BOTTOM 2
(6) Hollie Cavanagh ---- she needs a lot more practice, should've never been this high in the competition, puts no feeling in her songs, better than last week singing P!nk's "Perfect", but definitely not Perfect lol.
(6) Skylar Laine ---- tired of this Miranda Lambert/ Reba McEntire wanna be skreecher. Don't think she did good on Kellie Pickler's song, but not sure if I even heard it.

the duets, Phillip & Elise were awesome on Gotye & Kimbra's "Sombody That I Used to Know". Colton & Skylar's voices and styles don't mesh and were pretty bad on Jason Aldean & Kelly Clarkson's "Don't You Wanna Stay". Jessica, Hollie & Joshua doing Kelly's "Stronger" was part good (Jessica & Hollie) and part not so much(Joshua), the idiotic judges claimed Joshua did the best, WRONG!

Maybe it's because I just got to see Kelly do the song live (with Blake Shelton) but the AI version of "Don't You Wanna Stay" was embarrassing to watch. Kelly sings the shit out of that song. That girl...tried.

Also watched Colton Dixon. Meh. Not a lot of feeling, imho, but it was sung well. Glad that they'll at least say it's between him and Phillip.

ETA- Jennifer better watch her mouth with respect to Jessica. She's doing the thing she did last year, when she needs to be guiding the audience so we all understand Jessica's awesomeness. The nitpicking about performance...nope. Doesn't work.

I don't like Jessica. She bugs me. I prefer Hollie, but I don't think she is going to last much longer. They are so critical of her.

I really liked the Phillip and Elise duet.

I can't stand Philip. He's better this week in terms of his behavior but it's the same old every week with him and this show has had way too much of his type of artist. It's time for something new. He's talented but, to me, he needs to go in the next two weeks because he's bland and he will meet the same fate on the charts as Lee Dewyze and Kris Allen.

Jessica, Colton, Skylar, and Elise should be the top 4. Joshua is good but he won't sell and sometimes he goes really off track in terms of being way too over the top. I would appreciate more subtlety from him.

I thought Jessica, Colton, Elize, and Skylar were the standouts tonight, much like last week aside from Elise. I think they will use the save no matter what tomorrow night anyway because they only have 2 weeks to use it and, if they leave it until next week, everyone will know they are using it and won't even bother to watch. I think tomorrow someone is saved regardless of who it is. I think it will be Holly or maybe Philip or Colton based on tonight's performances and performance order. I think everyone else should be safe. I hope it's not one of the guys who goes because I would rather see a girl get the save for once.

Damn I didn't see what was so bad about Hollie's performance tonight, I thought she sounded great! It was really awkward when the room got quiet. I agree with Angie that the judges are really critical of her. Half the time I don't get it..

Best performances tonight IMO were Jessica and Joshua's! Colton and Skylar continue to do nothing for me. Not Philip's strongest tonight but I still liked it.

Elise looked and sounded a mess & she tries way to hard. I am glad Akon and Jimmy blasted down that disastrous idea she had to begin her performance with the drums! Just no Elise, NO.

Nigel and Ryan have been saying we're in for a shocker tonight and TMZ is reporting that a frontrunner will be eliminated tonight (they said two of the bottom 3 were people the producers thought could win the show). They also said producers are scrambling to convince the judges to use the save tonight, which I think is interesting because it's been said the judges never know the results until they are revealed. They may sometimes get hints from producers but they never actually know. I guess the producers aren't telling them who is in danger but are simply hinting that they should use it tonight. That is probably enough to convince the judges since there are only 7 left and, if a frontrunner is in danger, they can probably figure out those who could be in trouble tonight based on that.

This is no big deal anyway. It was obvious they would use the save tonight regardless IMO. If they wait until next week, everyone would know they would use it next week as it's the last week they can use it and voting and viewership may be affected as it ends up being a week that would be looked at as not mattering. So, pretty much everyone figured they would use it tonight on no matter who it was. I think they would've even saved Hollie tonight despite how critical they've been of her.

One thing we do know...given it seems there is a shock tonight...Hollie is undoubtedly safe. Based on the information that has leaked, to me that means Philip/Colton and Jessica are likely in the bottom 3 with one of them going home. Colton did go second last night and had a more "quiet" performance so that could mean he is vulnerable and Philip was pretty boring. They both are prime candidates. I just hope it's a girl who gets eliminated because I want the save used on a girl, not a guy.

So, Seacrest is pulling the group setup tonight, eh? Yeah, Jessica's group is definitely bottom 3.

Ok, maybe Hollie's group is bottom 3 with Philip positioned in that group. Interesting...

It had been a wonderful evening and what I needed now, to give it the perfect ending, was a little of the Ludwig Van.

So far it's...

Hollie and Phillip on one team and Jessica and Elise on the other. Interesting.

On a side note, it was nice seeing Durbin again. I don't dig the blonde hairdo though.

She does. She would've never tried dancing like that a few years back. Good for her.

It's interesting because given how they've lined them up, either group could be the bottom although Hollie's group would be predictable given Philip did have an "off" night. I kind of want that group to be safe just so that Philip doesn't get a surge in voting that carries him into the finale.

We'll see what happens. It's clear Ryan is going to proclaim one person safe and make them choose which group is safe. I always hate that because I always hope the contestant does the right thing and stands in the middle. Usually they do but, if they don't, it makes them look horrible and could hurt them in voting.

Joshua is in Jessica's team with Elise.

Colton is in Hollie's team with Phillip.

Skylar is....??? I'd prefer for her to go home tonight. She did have the "death spot" last night, and her performance didn't wow me. Who knows?

Hollie, Phillip, Colton and Skylar are all safe.

The bottom 3 are: Joshua, Jessica, and Elise.
