I'm rooting for Phillip and Jessica. I really like them both.
Really? I thought you would hate Philip.

It had been a wonderful evening and what I needed now, to give it the perfect ending, was a little of the Ludwig Van.

And the Final 2 are.........???

YES!! JESSICA!!! A GIRL CAN STILL WIN!!

Wish Joshua got through because he deserved to on the season but he did have an off night thanks to song choices. I'm just happy a girl made it and she really is the best singer.

And wow, the three buddies got eliminated right in a row (Skylar, Hollie, and Joshua). Guess their votes never were shared after one went home

I like both Jessica and Phillip,I've liked Phillip since his audition, but a girl has not won since 2007 and with the exception of Scotty ever since 2008 the winner has been a male with a sweet voice who plays guitar and while I love those kind of musicians I want something NEW.So while I will vote for both,I hope Jessica wins.

Your shocking me tonight, Kenny!

I thought you were one of the ones that hated how the guys were dominating Idol, especially guys with guitars. I never thought you would like him based on who you usually like on this show.

If Jessica loses, I think I'm done. I half-jokingly called Phillip the winner from his audition, because he's a white guy of limited vocal range with a guitar. The kind of guy who in olden days would form a band and work their charisma to overcome that limited vocal range.

I don't even think Jessica is all that fantastic (vocally, sure, but charisma...not so sure about that imho), but if it's another white guy with guitar winning and I really can see it from their first oh-so-adorable appearance...there's really no point.

Also, I kind of disbelieve the legitimacy of the results the past few weeks. They get heavy criticism because women and minorities get chopped first. Then suddenly women and minorities make a solid showing? Very coincidental.

There's always been something to disbelieve about this show. It's nothing but a fixed piece of shit. For me, everything about Phillip just reeks. He's been more terrible than he's been good, always looking like an unmade bed everytime he comes out on stage, AND his demeanor was always less than enthusiastic, as if he didn't really want it. Joshua had so much talent and style and was clearly a class act from beginning to end. Time for American Idol to be flushed DEEP down the toilet like the doo-doo that it is.

AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME, Idol viewers GOT IT RIGHT. The most talented two of this season are the FINAL 2. Congrats to Phillip Phillips & Jessica Sanchez! Glad the judges, especially Randy is pissed. Maybe Randy can take Joshua out and give him some, oh, he probably are has. LOL

I loved this final 3 so much...I was beyond happy for Jessica and Philip, but felt so bad for Joshua :( He was fantastic.

I've been obsessed w/Philip and Joshua's cover of this song since it aired. Like I seriously have it on repeat on my iPod all day. I especially love the last 90 or so seconds. Unbelievably good!

AWE am so sad My joshua was voted off, but I look at it this way his not tied to Idol as who ever the winner well be (Phillip) and he went out with freaking class!!!! I like the other two so am fine with whoever wins even thou I would love a girl to win. I just hope if Phillip wins he gets great sells or it well be back to another loser WGWG that won like my Kris gets and is started to get again since Phillip is in the final two. I've already read people talking crap about him because the feel his going to win because his a cute guy and is a WGWG. I hate when people bunch them all together in a category. And I hate that people are hating on Joshua when he has no freaking control over the judges giving him a standing O, if there favorites got standing O's all the time they wouldn't freaking say a damn thing so I just don't undertand the hate for something so freaking stupid as that!!!! Oh well am happy he made it into the top 3.

I think he benefits from being lumped together with others more than he's hurt by it.

The producers know exactly what to do with his type, the same way they did back in the days when there would always be at least one black female R&B singer (The Diva). They know how to present him to the audience, and the audience expects and is waiting for him.

I'm not convinced he'd have been featured as early as he was if there wasn't an established WGWG slot waiting for him. Other than that type and his name he really isn't inherently all that special vocally or as a sob story/personality to warrant as much attention in the audition phase as he got.

So for me- he got a big advantage by being part of a category. Sucks for him a bit that it's at a point when some people are really tired of WGWG, but he still got a lot of early play off it, imho.

PX780 I hope your right while his not my favorite from this season I still like him and I don't want him to have to deal with all the crap Kris had to and still is dealing with. I know people believes that he won over Adam because of Adam being gay he still is a lot better of a singer than a lot of singers on the radio today. And his grown a lot since Idol, his new Cd Thank You Camellia which comes out Tuesday is so much better than "Kris Allen self titled" and I liked that CD a lot. But this one has a lot more fun songs on it and catchy ones at that. But back to Phillip I actually started to like him a lot better the last few weeks, and I like him a whole lot better than some people from other seasons, and his good just not my type of singer.

Yeah, PR, I always thought that theory about friends getting their friends votes when they get voted off is weak. It doesn't make much sense.

I absolutely hate Jessica's personality. I can't even listen to her speak. But she does have a great voice.

I'm obviously rooting for Philip, but I know people have said they want a girl winner this season.

I don't understand what everybody has against white guys with guitars. Would it be better if he were a black guy with a guitar? I'm just askin'.

Would make no difference to me,but that has won from 2008-2011,gets tiresome after awhile.

As usual, the point of the argument to the WGWG is conveniently missed. It's not that people have a problem with WGWG, it's that they have a problem with the REPETITION of this particular type of contestant. The one they have heading into the finale would equal 5 in a row if he wins. People are looking for a switch on a show that used to operate more on variety than they do now. And sure, a black guy with guitar would be fine but do you honestly think that anyone would tolerate watching 5 of them winning this show in a row? Not a chance in hell!
