OMG...I was half shocked Philip won. He was barely seen tonight. He didn't sing with any of the guys and he only had one standalone performance. Jessica had like, three. I was sure they were setting her up to win after that BRAVURA performance she did with Jennifer Holiday (Seriously, WOW)! But congrats to Philip! OMG. I was crying.

 ...I didn't think Fantasia was that bad guys. I liked her. My question is WTH was going on with Chaka Khan? She seemed ok towards the middle and end but in the beginning I thought SHE was the hot mess! She was stumbling down those stairs and flailing all over the place. I did love that performance with the girls though.

I was DYING when Ace proposed to Diana. FAKE AS HELL! LMAO

Jessica's performance with Jennifer Holliday was ridiculous. It was so over the top (on Jennifer's part) that it was like a parody.

LOL, well sue me, I liked the WGWG. I wanted Phillip to win, but was convinced from the beginning that Jessica had it in the bag. I would have been happy with her winning if she had had a decent personality.

My reaction to Fantasia was very wtf? as well.

The proposal was kind of cute, but long and awkward and all I could think was how cute Ace used to be and how he needed to cut that damn hair.

I LOVED the phone book bit.

Jessica and Jennifer Holiday was both WOW and over-the-top-scary-ridiculous .. I don't know. I loved it and hated it in parts. There is a lot to be said for subtlety.

Phillip crying and walking off stage to hug his family did me in. My son said, "aaannnddd, now mom's gonna cry" ... yup. He knows me so well. :)

YAY Phillip :D

I did not dislike all the big Finale but I agree with many of you that some parts were mediocre, some was fabulous, some I just rolled my eyes and had another sip of my wine and some I cringed and had a big gulp of my wine!!! I thought Jessica singing with Jennifer Holliday was compelling, scary and wonderful all at the same time and I think Jessica was fabulous. I also loved Skylar singing with Reba. I have always been a fan of Fantasia but her outfit definitely did her no favours what so ever. Joshua and Fantasia reminded me of being at a huge church revival, gospel singathon and I am sure that is where both had their early musical influences and it seemed like they were trying to out screach each other towards the end. I liked Phil and John Fogarty performance I was not keen on the Bee Gee's tribute by the boys but I am assuming that was probably a last minute inclusion so the sound and harmonies were not quite right and they needed more practice time. Loved the Aerosmith performance.

As for the proposal, well I must admit I am not a fan of public proposals and any time I am sitting in my own home cringing and hoping it will be over quickly is never a good sign but I hope it all works out for the happy couple. I wonder if Dianna was able to catch up with Fantasia.

I felt for Philip while he struggled and was unable to stop the huge wave of emotion that he was clearly engulfed in as he tried to sing but as he walked down those stairs into the embrace of his family he was indeed "home" again.
Well done to Phil, I hope he is sucessful, he seems like a genuine, sincere young man. :cheer:

OMG thank you!

Totally agree....I was like "is this happening? Is this for real" and then I played around with the pause and slow-mo button for the next 3 minutes and literally almost peed myself on the floor laughing at Jennifer's facial expressions.

HOT MESS, GOOD FUCKING LORD!

Yes, it was...the camera caught them....it was funny and then the next thing you see both of them standing up and cheering like fucking Rhi-Rhi's...they must have known they were caught on camera.

Congrats to Phillip, I am so glad he won. Towards the middle of his song, he started crying and couldn't finished and went down to hug his family. I miss a large chunk of it. I am glad I did, I was literally bored with the finale.

JLo songs were like wtf to me. She should stick to acting, but then again, maybe she should just model, she will be touring with Enrique, ughh. Way to ruin it for me. Guess I won't be buying tickets to go see him now.

Did Holly lip sync her song after Jessica sang with Jennifer Holiday? Jessica as usual was OTT. I did not like her personality throughout the season, glad she lost.

The proposal was cheesy, but sweet. Glad DG is off Y&R, her character was annoying. If I have to hear that awful NJ accent again I am going to scream.

A white guy with a guitar. How refreshing.

Knew it the minute he auditioned. America is predictable, especially the Idol voters. Glad I stopped watching when I realized the trend years ago.
Casey James is killer on the guitar, especially the electric guitar and he did not win. In fact, I think he came third or fourth.

I did like the tribute to the BeeGees, regardless of age, the BeeGees songs are classic.

Yes, but he was not considered "hot" like Philip, Scotty, Kris ect.

In fact, he was pretty gross.

I didn't really care who won!!! Joshua, Skyler, and colton where my favorite this season. I really like Phillip's single but he already said in interviews that he doesn't want the song as his single, that it isn't the type of music his going to have on his album!! He wanted to do one of his own songs that he wrote as a single. Which sucks I think out of every single season his song was the best and most original for a winner to have to sing. I hate that because he won people are already starting with the crap about because his a WGWG is why he won,and yes it is true but until the voting system is changed that's what happens it isn't the guys fault. Oh well am glad that season is over, and we can relex until next season. the time did go by really fast though it seems like this was the fastest season for some reason.

Who won the same season Casey was on? ;) As Mitch said, Lee was considered the "hot" one that year, even though I failed to see the appeal.

Crystal should have won that one, but that's just my opinion. Always found it ironic that a guy who worked in a paint store was the winner, considering he was as exciting as watching paint dry.

I think you are thinking of the wrong Casey. Casey James is very good looking.

The funny thing about Crystal is that she's not significantly different from the others with guitars, imho. She's just a female.
