I caught a few minutes live, watched some online. The "I Have Nothing Girl" I felt SOOO bad for her. I feel like she could have hit those notes but something happened and it was just...growly. Like...I want to hug her. And I wanted to turn it off but I was hoping that maybe at some point she would get better, but it was a bit like...like watching an ice skater who falls, gets up, rushes into a jump again and...falls. Poor girl. Philip is an OK guitar-playing bar band singer. Feels like...a step above Lee DeWyze but not quite David Cook. I'm biased, though, because I'm over his type. Seen enough of it. The one who did "I Will Always Love You" was good. I'm not really feelin' it I think. I keep trying though for some reason. Are they having the girls stand on platforms next to Ryan when they give the numbers? Or are they giants? I know he's short, but...damn. |

Yeah, a few of the girls are really tall. Shannon said is she is 6', so in heels she is super tall. Ryan looks so tiny next to Jermaine. He looks like a child. |

Jessica Sanchez, Heejun Han and Philip Philips are my top faves! Jessica is seriously FANTASTIC and Philip is just so different and interesting to watch. Heejun just has a great voice and is also hilarious. I also really like Holly and Colton. The girl who sang "I Have Nothing" was embarrassing! I felt bad for her. LOL. Also that one girl, I think her name was Elise, who sang "I'm Your Baby Tonight" OMG. AWFUL! Would've been interested in hearing her sing "Greatest Love of All" as originally planned. Sorry, not a fan of Jeremy, the country girl or Jermaine with the deep voice. Deandre and his theatrics could get annoying fast but his voice is pretty good to me. I'm on the fence with Joshua Ledet, he kind of reminds me of Jacob Lusk from last season...LOL. I mean I liked him but sometimes he was just to much! |

Well I thought Elise was good...I thought the judges MASSIVELY over-panned her performance...she was not the best tonight, but wow, not even close to the worst. My Rankings: 1.) Jessica (Blew the song out of the water!) 2.) Hollie (AMAZING!) 3.) Phillip (Very good, bonus for playing an instrument) 4.) Colton (LOVE HIM!) 5.) Erika (LOVE HER!) 6.) Skylar (awesome!) 7.) Elise (good performance, not great, but certainly nowhere near as bad as they made her out to be) 8.) Heejun (good voice, but boring) 9.) Joshua (meh) 10.) Jeremy (boring) 11.) Deandre (sick of him, he should have never made Top 13) 12.) Jermaine (wow..so over this guy!) 13.) Shannon (beyond atrocious...but I know she can perform better) |

Wow, last night was great! Great start to what I feel is the official start of the competition whenever we get to top 13. First off, I have to say I hope they do more of what they did last night in terms of just showing us the session between the contestants, Jimmy, and whatever mentor they have. I don't need to see all of Jimmy's producers working with them. This was better IMO. It was more focused and provided plenty of perspective. Also, Mary J. Blige was great! I was shocked because she's always struck me as very cold. I saw her in person recently and that didn't change my opinion. She's a diva, sure, but as a mentor she was accessible and very helpful and genuinely seemed to want each of the contestants to succeed. Loved that. She seemed into her role. I actually like that the judges are deciding between the least voted for boy and girl. Yes it's a bit like X-Factor, SYTYCD, etc but I do think it's been proven that the public makes alot of mistakes and we've seen the voting influenced by VFTW and such so this is good to do once in awhile. I wouldn't mind them doing that again, maybe when they decide who makes top 10 in a few weeks. I wouldn't do it late in the season. No later than top 6 or so. I mean, I like this because it may keep some good people in the competition. I just hope this doesn't mean they got rid of the save since they didn't mention it. They need that save given the voting public's track record. I also have to commend the judges for judging finally! I mean, Stephen wasn't doing it much but Jennifer and ESPECIALLY Randy offered constructive criticism that wasn't too harsh but was very effective. I guess they realized they better start pointing out some things or else they look like idiots since Jimmy just points out everything the next night. Hope this keeps up. I also had to laugh at how they seemed to throw all the contestants they don't have an interest in at the beginning of the show. It was so obvious. I know they seem to like Joshua but I think he's this year's Jacob Lusk. He has a great voice and they like him now but they will start trying to sabotage him and throwing him under the bus in a few weeks, just like Jacob. The rest of those who performed early like Elise, Jermaine (who the judges clearly were shocked got through last week and who I believe only was brought back because Jimmy seems to love him), and Erika (who I think is only here because they needed to select one female wild card and she's the only one who wouldn't steal votes from some of the other females they like) are people I think they have no interest in wanting around. I've never seen them do that before though. Usually, they try to mix it up but they clearly stacked all the contestants they've hyped later in the show. They really wanted the early performances forgotten. I will review last night's performances in depth later. I'll just say I think the most vulnerable tonight for the guys are Jermaine, Jeremy, and maybe HeeJun (although he's been hyped and has a fanbase so he may be safe). I think Joshua will be ok because of his big performance last week, which gave him some leeway, but it wouldn't surprise me if he's in danger. I just doubt it. For the girls, I think Elise and Erika are in trouble. Shannon was bad but she's been hyped and has a fanbase, I think. People know she's better than that and the judges made it clear she was in trouble at the end of the show, no doubt to rally her fans. I wouldn't be surprised if she's in danger but I doubt it and, if she is, they will likely send a guy home instead. I think that is why they are doing the boy/girl thing anyway. The only way a guy doesn't go home is if the lowest guy is someone like Philip or Colton IMO. Elise and Erika are in far more danger. Elise has gotten no exposure and that is an issue on this show. Erika didn't get voted through by the public last week and wasn't good enough last night to get remembered. My guess for who goes home with the judges deciding...Jermaine. |

It had been a wonderful evening and what I needed now, to give it the perfect ending, was a little of the Ludwig Van.

I found this on TMZ. Reminded me of Casey Abrams last year.

So far, the Bottom 3 girls are Erika, Elise, and Shannon. Also, Phillip says he's fine and it was just a doctors visit. |

Go home Jeremy, shouldn't have been given a spot in the Top 13. Shannon needs more practice. I hope Phillip doesn't have to quit, love him, he and Jessica are my faves, along with Colton and Erika. |

I agree with Phoenix with the judges picking between the bottom 2. There is too much over voting by fanbases as well as others purposedly voting against certain singers to keep weaker ones around. Also agree that they need to stop it around Top 6. |

I didn't agree with Jeremy going home. It should've been Shannon. How she managed to escape the bottom two, I'll never know. |

She avoided it because she's one of the contestants whose been hyped since she first appeared and she's much better than what she was Wednesday night. She knew her performance was bad and her "no excuses" approach may have endeared her to fans. The song she performed she even sang better in her session with Jimmy. I think that made a difference, as well as the judges pointing out she was in trouble at the end of the show Wednesday. That rallied her fans. Frankly, I was shocked she was even in danger. There were other girls who were just as bad and/or hardly got any exposure, which means the audience is not familiar with them. Also, for all we know, she was in the bottom two or three. Remember, they went with the whole bottom 3 girls and bottom 3 guys. We know she was in the bottom 2 girls so she may have been bottom 3 or 2 overall. Personally, I doubt it but it is possible because we didn't get a conventional bottom 3 this week. |

I am glad that Jeremy went over Elise. I was hoping Jermaine would go though. I don't like his singing style and I am starting to think he isn't as sweet as they act like he is. He bugs me. |

I've seen so much focus on Elise's attitude but Jermaine's attitude I had an issue with. He's always come across badly IMO. He acts like he's this superior vocalist and is entitled. He came off that way tonight too. The way he reacted to being saved and the fact he didn't embrace those still up for elimination or even say anything to him speaks volumes. Elise IMO just seemed defeated Wednesday night and, to me, she seems to already suspect the show is sabotaging her. She has reason to feel that way, to be fair. I like Jeremy. He's a nice guy and I think the show probably wanted to keep him around given he's got rootability and he sparked so much emotion. I mean, you could tell Jennifer wanted no part of eliminating him but I think she was the only one wanting him to stay. I thought no matter who the boy was in the bottom, (providing it wasn't Philip or Colton), they were going home. I think they did this to ensure they evened up the boys and girls. It just happened to be Jeremy and they felt they needed to keep a girl so they did. |

What show were you watching...Shannon was the absolute worst by a country mile...the others girls didn't even come close to sucking as bad as she did. She absolutely butchered "I have Nothing". She is better than how she sang, but lets call her performance was it was...PURE SHIT! |
