This episode was beyond awful. I only watched for Will and Stefano and even they couldn't make it watchable.

Actually, this episode isn't nearly as bad as it's being made out to be and I actually enjoyed a great deal of it. Although I have to wonder whether anyone actually thought to LOOK at poor Missy Reeves before they sent her in front of a camera in a SEE THROUGH angora sweater over a sports bra. I thought the script was solid. Today was directed by producer Albert Alarr and written by Richard Culliton (his 1st script in a little over a month).

Whatever Madison was wearing today...omg...it needs to bleached, bleached again, burned and the ashes thrown into the most active volcano on the planet...

I couldn't believe my eyes....BTW this was the first episode my GF has watched in over 2 months, she decided to give the show a try again last night to my amazement (she has totally abanonded watching the show with me when I watch, which is few and far between as it is) and she turned it off about 7 minutes in because she was "bored to tears" and wanted to "shoot Jennifer/Daniel/Maggie/Melanie in the head" (gosh I love her).

Wow I am shocked you enjoyed it...I could barely stomach sitting through it.

And I thought the script was HORRENDOUSLY bad...especially considering a Culliton wrote it.

The ONLY intriguing part of the show for me was that tiny scene where Victor is about to tell Daniel SOMETHING about his mother and then stops...only because it gives me hope that Maggie is NOT his mother...thus severing his family ties to ANYONE important!

Absolutely adored the scenes with Will and Sonny. I think Days so far is doing a great job with Will's coming out story. I hope its just get better and don't disappoint. I felt devastated by watching Will spit at his reflection. Now more than ever I really want Will and Sonny as a couple. I really love both of them.

One thing that I found curious is that Gabi said to Chad that she was doing the photo shoot to show Will he was wrong about her because something about her put him off. I find that strange because Gabi told Will back in December 2 that there was something wrong with him and not her and she wanted to be in a relationship for the right reasons.
I wonder if Gabi used that self-pity card to manipulate Chad and get him into the campaign. If so, her manipulative side worked well.

Those that have 3D TVs, did anyone noticed the aureole over Daniel's head today?

Gone, But Not Forgotten!

Did anyone enjoy watching Daniel's emotional side come to life on screen? He had tears even without looking distraught or sad. I wanted to see his eyes well up and him trying to hold back his emotions, not a water drip on the side of his cheek. SC has had the same blank look since he met Jennifer, it was very pathetic. Him crying over leaving, Vic, Mag, Mel or Jen, is cleary a self imposed pity party. TPTB are such fools.

The only thing that kept my attention was Will.

Quinn mentioned he's seeing Marlena.... It would be nice if we SAW those scenes.

I think that Kate is the stripper that Madison's dad took off with. I'm glad Brady yelled at Madison for using Sami as a mole. Liked the references to history to, although Brady could have mentioned his misdoings in the whole family war.
I guess it was revealed that Kate/Madison have some sort of history together maybe Madison's dad did run off with Kate or maybe this new guy Ian has something to do with it. Two people just do not start off hating each other this much without there being something to it. Madison told Brady that something went down with Kate and that Kate does not probably remember it. I am curious to see what is going on with the two of them. I am not really feeling Madison but whatever past she has with Kate could be interesting.

I still say that there is something to what Brady said and that is why in spoilers it says that Madison is going to reconsider her plans for Kate and CW. Maybe Brady scared her.

I agree. The show was beyond boring. Thank God for the FF button. Everything about the show sucked-- the dialogue, the storyline or lack of, the awful clothes many of the actors were wearing. Honestly, Mardar, if you want people to watch the show, you really need to step it up-- a lot.

Well at least Jennifer didn't fall all the way down to the ground this time--like the first time Daniel dumped her. :puke: This time, she just leaned against the door and slumped a little as she cried. That's progress, I say. :eyeroll:

I HATE what has become of Jennifer. :frustration: :frustration: :frustration:

I didn't watch today's show--but had the sound on from the other room. Jeez, it sounded like DANIEL was dying! One can only hope!

You know this show is fucked up when someone like Daniel leaving TEMPORARILY gets multiple episodes, water works from half the cast, and even some press, yet when well say a BELOVED cast member leaves (like Kayla, Phillip, Lucas, etc. . .you get the point) this show acts like they didn't exist. :flipoff: :flipoff: :flipoff:

TPTB, PLEASE do many of us a favor and just kill Dr. Bonas and his whiney little spawn. Neither are likeable or serve any purpose other than to annoy. We are stuck with SAMI for eternity, so that is already punishment enough.

Besides Will and Sonny scenes, I really liked Stefano, Bo and Hope. Despite some ridiculous moments in this storyline with the finding of clues, the mystery of knowing what exactly Alice and Stefano kept hidden keeps it interesting. Didn't cared much about Brady and Madison, their story for me is just screen filler. Everything with them feels forced and superficial. The only thing I enjoyed is when Brady warned Madison about what could happen if Kate knows about the espionage. The rest is not worth mentioning.

Today's show seemed to be setting up stories as they were dropping a lot of hints/clues about upcoming storylines. However, enough is enough! I'm trying to be patient, but they really need to get some action going. Enough with teasing us with story; let's get to it! What is Alice's secret? Who is the mystery man Madison talks to on the phone? What is Madison's past connection to Kate? What is Kate's plan for Sami, which seems to involve Johnny judging from the anvils dropped in an episode a couple weeks ago. What is the information Victor has concerning Maggie and Daniel? When is Will going to acknowledge what we all know already? We've been teased with these same questions for weeks now; it's time to get into the actual plot of the stories!

So Daniel is leaving for a few weeks and he gets an endless send-off, like he's going to be gone for good. (I wish!) What's the point of this? And Jennifer...I hate what they've done to one of my favorites.

Hope may not be ready to know what's in the safe deposit box, but I am!

Same here.

I thought this was a strong episode, even the Daniel stuff. There were nice historical references that actually enhanced story and I thought there was some actual movement. No surprise Richard Culliton wrote it. More of him and Carolyn writing, please!

I like Daniel but I wish they wouldn't bring him back so quickly. In fact, I would love it if they did what they did with Chloe. This regime and Higley's final months have done a number on him and Melanie IMO. I think he needs a rest and to be brought back with something fresh like it seems they are about to do with Chloe. I know I'm in the minority on that but I do think his character fills a need on the canvas. You need a male in that age range that can be paired with almost anyone just so we can invite incestuous relations.

I thought the acting in the Daniel goodbye scenes was good aside from SR being a bit too over the top as usual and MR sucking again. She needs to be cut loose. She's never been great but you can tell she's even phoning it in opposite SC now. I liked the Victor/Daniel scenes because they reminded me of what Daniel used to be and the potential he has. I wish they would focus more stuff like that with him. SC was pretty good today. Better than usual.

I like Brady pointing out the Sami/Kate and Dimera/Kiriakis history to Madison. I hope when this all blows up it gets very ugly and even deadly. There was a chilling vibe to all that, similar to Marlena's warning to Will last week and her previous warning to Nicole a few months back. I hope they really bring it with the fallout from this because this has MASSIVE potential. Also, I've always suspected but today confirmed it for me. I think Kate HAS to be the woman that Madison's father ran off with and I bet Ian Buchanan is playing Madison's father. It's the only thing that makes sense to me. Glad the Madison stuff is finally going somewhere though.

The stuff with Stefano, Bo, and Hope was nice setup. I don't mind building it up a bit more. The story just needs more focus but I am curious because I do think the reveal will at least bring some drama finally. Nice mention of Alice's birthday though.

All in all, a very strong episode IMO. These are the kind of "lull" episodes the show needs in between big episodes with lots going on. Plus, I like that so many characters were on today. Keep this up, Days. Amp up the drama. All the elements are in place so bring it!

PhoenixRising....you made a lot of good points! I agree with most of it; just don't have the patience to type it all up like you do. I think it was a good foundation episode to kick off the stories they have coming up for February, but I'm getting impatient to have some of these questions answered. But then I think back to when I first started watching soaps in the early 70s and how long it took to get big reveals....it was years before Mike Horton's true parentage was revealed and I didn't think we'd ever see Doug and Julie get together! These days very few (including me) has the patience for those long, slow reveals. They need to get some of these stories moving!

I also think a big part of the problem is how far ahead they are taping, and the information that comes out in the mags and in spoilers. We've been hearing about Ian Buchanan coming to the show for months and yet he hasn't shown up onscreen yet. So we're left waiting and wondering who he's going to be and how he's going to fit into story. Same with Billie and Lucas. By the time these actors and the leaked story information shows up we're impatient and frustrated because of this long, long lag time.

 Hi Tim! And Matt! I agree with both of you on this episode. Hopefully when we get to Feb sweeps, things that seem to be putting into place will start moving. Months and months of slow set up need a really big payoff, so hopefully we get it.
