I also really liked Pat...I also thought it was interesting how she came in on her own....I would LOVE for DAYS to use her in the future and perhaps even go somewhere romantically with Jack....wouldn't Jennifer be SHOCKED how Jack could be interested in anyone but her selfish cunt ass! |

I would love to see more scenes with Pat and Jack. I'm only going by Paul's clips but there was definitely something between them.  I can just imagine the look on Jennifer's face if she were to see Jack with another woman. :chee: |

"She won't talk about herself, but she's a real good listener." (about Pat) Hmm. Maybe it's not intentional, but that seemed like another pointed reminder of how badly Jennifer is handling this whole thing. She not only refuses to listen, but she makes EVERYthing about herself these days. :shame: As others have noted, maybe Pat will at least be a friend for Jack, someone besides Marlena who will listen and be sympathetic. If only the writers would make it clear to us that they are intentionally telling this story (Because right now, it seems like they're just stumbling around and occasionally/accidentally happening on a good writing choice). |

Who's this guy in the blue shirt at the therapy session? He's cute. He looks like Matt Battaglia who played JL King in 1997. They should think about making him a regular, LoL. |

They could bond over several things, like their kids and being a single parent. Because I did get the sense that Pat was raising her son alone. Why would she need a sitter if his dad was in the picture? And I like that she's a different physical type than Jennifer--a hot brunette rather than a washed-out blonde. So Jennifer can't console herself with the idea that Jack's just looking for another her. |

The vet scenes were very touching. I wonder if there will be something or at least some kind of friendship between Jack and Pat. At least someone is there for Jack because all Jennifer can think about it Daniel. So I am glad that Jack has help getting through this. When all of them were hugging Jack when the session was over that really tugged at the heart strings. Also the message that they out at the end of the show was a nice touch too. Very touching scenes. The Brady/John was hilarious to me. Brady Brown that was good. I enjoyed these scenes too. I do not really care if Melanie/Abigail become friends again. So Quinn did not answer Madison's question I wonder if he is going to stick with Kate or go with Madison. He has already made a deal with Kate and surely they have some sort of contact or something. Kate is a smart businesswoman so I am sure they do have some sort of contract together that Quinn will be smart not to break. Is he in or is he out? The scenes that I was interested in today was the vet scenes and the John/Brady stuff the Madison/Quinn and Abigail/Melanie stuff did not grab me at all. Edited by Virgo Twins, Jan 26 2012, 01:58 PM.

The Jack/Marlena/vets scenes were wonderful. Best episode I've seen in a long time. I agree with the others that the cute brunette should be a friend to Jack and maybe more down the road. |

Oh today was so good, I mean the vet scenes. I don't care one bit if Abby and Toothy make up or if Abby even disappears. What did EM do? Was that a real almost sunburn or too much spray tan? He looked very odd and not in a good way. DHall looked fabulous today and the vets did a great job for walk-on parts. MA just makes me ache for Jack. He may not be on all the time but what he gets he makes count. |

I REALLY liked the Jack and Marlena hug at the end. :) With Bitchifer so out of touch it was nice hearing Marlena telling Jack what Jennifer should have instead of being a flake. I am happy to know Marlena has Jack's back.

I can't add much on this episode beyond what has already been said. Today's was directed by Phil Sogard and written by the wonderful Richard Culliton (his 2nd ep this week after a month's hiatus!). Is it any surprise that they gave this very imporant episode to Richard? Why is Brady always a different color every day? Today he looked like like a copper penny with some of Jennifer's ultra pale lipstick on. Either that or he looked like he was in blackface. He looked rediculous. I didn't like the interactions between John & Brady today, though. EM & DH really do match up well playing father & son. I thought Marlena looked especially nice today. The entire Madison/Quinn/Abby/Melanie mess at the spa was so clearly the weak part of the episode. If they'd only cut those parts and moved the John/Brady scenes (maybe used the Will/EJ/Sami angst today instead), this show could've ended up with their best shot at an Emmy for best show in YEARS. Even so, Matt Ashford has got one HELL of a lot of choices for an Emmy reel this year. |

I've only watched the veterans scenes so far, but I agree with everything that's being said. I think one issue that they have to be very careful of is potentially making the "Salem story" look silly in light of the real stories next to it. They almost got it perfect, but... the flashbacks threw it off for me. They just looked so fake, and also, it was like that thing about how when books are put into movies, it destroys the images you've created for yourself in your mind. Listening to all the other vets, the audience must have had such bleak, troubling pictures in mind, and it was jarringly out of place to have a typical Days OTT flashback in the middle of that. But, on the other side of it, I think Matt and Deidre were the perfect choices for this material. Both are of the caliber that they can bring a realism to the scenes that really no other actors on the show could, imo. (Maybe John Aniston in the right capacity.) I actually even felt bad for Deidre that she had to play a stoic, trained therapist; I'm sure her natural reaction would have been to start crying just as "Pat" did. She looked like she had trouble getting that "no explanation necessary" line out. A+ and Kudos to Days on those scenes... I'm so impressed with them that they did something like this. |

After today's episode, (and this breaks my heart because I really do like J & J) I really don't want J & J back together. For now, they are just on two completely different levels. Jennifer, I kind of feel, is being written on a tad bit of a superficial level and that's not how Jack is being written. I know, not a popular opinion but I'm really hoping that, at this point, they don't get back together-- Jennifer is the one that needs to grow. (not intened to offend-- sorry if I did) The whole session with Jack and the vets, for me, was like the scenes way back when when Jack's sister, Adrienne (anyone remember her???) was raped. The difference was that Justin was there to support her and give her the love, patience and time she needed. Jennifer isn't. Once again, it would have been wonderful to see Adrienne support Jack because, in a sense, she' been where he's at. I think it would have added to this storyline. |

^^I agree, Ellie. Great stuff. MA and DH were excellent. They shouldn't have thrown the flashbacks in though. Also, how lame did the spa/modeling stuff look next to the PTSD stuff? Edited by AHM, Jan 26 2012, 02:33 PM.

I haven't watched it yet but I agree with whoever said earlier in the thread that the episode should have been 100% the veterans. Anything else really does look so out of place. If they absolutely needed to splice in another story, they should have done something creative like showing video of Meng, Hogestyn, Reynolds, Alfonso visiting the Veterans hospital in Texas last year. |

What to say more than I love Jack and I wanted to hug him too. Well even that Marlena did for me. Matt, Deidre and the veterans have done an amazing job. |

Or like Jack being there for Jennifer when she pressed charges against Lawrence. Jack got on the stand and had to talk about raping Kayla. I still want Jack and Jennifer together in the end, but you are right that she is superficial right now and he is not. So from here, we need to see Jennifer stop being so superficial. I think if the show finally goes there, we could still manage to have a great Jack and Jennifer story. Edited by AHM, Jan 26 2012, 02:39 PM.
