that is why the sweeps preview says that what happens with Austin and Abby has a lot to do with what occurs with Cafe because clearly if Austin wouldn't have gotten drunk he wouldn't have been in the situation to think that he could have slept with Abby, lol. |

Now the stakes have completely changed again for Cafe. Could you imagine dumb as rocks Austin, who obviously believes all this because he was drunk going back to Carrie and telling her he slept with Abby? That will send Carrie flinging toward Rafe, who by then is probably trying to prove to Sami that he is committed to HER and only HER! OMG this is actually getting good, I'm not lying for the first time in a long time, I am actually liking this. |

I can see where she would get the idea because she is really infatuated with him. So if he opens up that he saw Carrie and Rafe kissing while he's getting drunk and ends up drunk out of his ass and he even innocently tells her, 'Thanks for being here, I don't know what I would do if you were not here with me now."...that might give her false hope? She's young, and let's face it this is very classic soapy drama....me likey |

As much as I hate to see Abby being thrown under the bus like this....this is gonna create one hell of a secret and undoubtedbly destroy the Caustin marriage, pushing Carrie even more towards Rafe...in the end all will be duped by this lie...Carrie will have already cheated and moved on with Rafe only to find out Austin never did anything wrong to begin with. OH MAN, my Caustin heart is breaking right now :( |

Carrie will think that Austin cheated, for the first time Carrie feels what it's like to be cheated on......OMG and you know what, they still have the out....because in the end you know the truth will come out and they will look back and slowly work their way back to one another, but I have to admit, I'm intrigued. This is something I really didn't expect. |

Not if Carrie gets pregnant. I can see Caustin and Safe moving towards each other and bam. Carrie is knocked up and doesnt know who the daddy is. crazy Abby changes the test to make Rafe the father. OMG this does sound like Abby is the new beast.

Much prefers sweevil, snarky EJ over Father Figure Fucktard Eejiot.

Well holy hell...I actually like the sound of Abby tricking Austin into thinking they slept together. Very glad they don't actually do the deed...but we still get the same great soapy angst as a result. Austin really isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, is he? |

I assume the writers aren't going to completely destroy Abby because they could have had her sleep with him but they didn't she is going to lie about it so I guess I have some hope. Man they are really destroying all things Deveraux. |

I still don't think Abby's being destroyed. She's becoming interesting, imho. Though as someone else noted the pacing is a bit off- it's way to quick from nothing to this kind of lie. That seems to be these writers' thing, throwing something completely random up to generate story and hoping the audience is willing to just kick back and go with it. I don't know why, but I feel like John/Hope going undercover will only lead to identity confusion and Feelings between the two of them. |

Exactly. It's angst for Caustin by breaking them up temporarily over something Austin didn't really do and Carrie falling on Rafe's lips ( :mutley: )but there is a good chance Caustin will end up back together in the end. I can see it now: cafe get together but Carrie still feels a pull towards Austin but he broke her heart by cheating on her and with Abby no less. The secrets slowly come out of what really happened, things get revealed and confrontations galore. I like how one set of secrets leads to other events that we did not immediately see coming like a suprise domino effect. Color my excited!! I'm back on the scandal train!! :cheer: Edited by JamaicanBeauty7, Jan 27 2012, 04:50 PM.

I don't know. Sami never fled Salem in disgrace and is now the show's superstar. (Not that I'm thrilled about that.) |

I hope they play the beat that Carrie feels major competition from the younger Abby....Carrie isn't ugly (actually she pretty much looks the same as she did a while ago). But if they actually play up Carrie's insecurities FOR ONCE, then she doesn't look too goody goody..... hey, I got an idea....have Carrie start inhaling whip its in about 3 months. |

I don't understand the complaints that John and Marlena aren't in scenes together. They are, but TPTB are also having them interact with other characters, which they should. In 2006-2009 they were isolated alot, and that hurt the characters. |

Abigail might be redeemable, if they have her feeling guilty about her lie and not really enjoying the consequences of what she sets in motion. But at the same time, she's too obsessed with Austin to come clean. On the other hand, if she escalates her scheming and starts to actively derail other people's marriages, her long-term prospects don't look too good. I'm kind of neutral on Austin/Carrie as a couple. Even in their heyday, they didn't interest me much. But I think there is a little bit of wiggle room for them to come out all right in the end, after all this sturm und drang. I will concede that's kind of interesting that Abigail's resorting to playing dirty at the same time Jennifer is also abandoning her principles to ensure Abe wins the election over EJ. Ultimately, Jack may end up being the voice of reason/ethics in this family, which is an irony of the highest order. But with his daughter spiraling out of control due to her obsession with a married man, and his ex-wife getting corrupted by the seamy side of politics, someone's going to have to pick up the slack. |
