I don't even care enough anymore to campaign for new writers again. The show cashed its last cry-wolf ticket in Marlene and Darrell with me.
I still think the problem is less what they write than who they're forced to write for and prop to the highest heavens. Get rid of Sami, Daniel and Melanie and the show would be perfectly watchable no matter what MarDar churned out.
That would be an improvement, but it wouldn't fix the fundamental issue with their writing, which, for me, is that nothing happens.
Exactly. I know some may feel Lucas is what the show needs or if only Sami would die or if only Nicole was Syd's mom or if only Jack and Jen would reunite, but personally I don't think any of this will improve the show. Marlene and Darrell do not understand how to write a good melodrama. Their twists are not clever. They completely lack stakes in their plots. Their romances are generic. Their pacing sucks. Etcetera, etcetera. I don't see how any character or 'ship is going to fix their problems.

Seriously, can we all start watching a new show together? I have suggestions...

I fully anticipate that one of the marriage proposals will be Daniel to Jennifer. The writers most likely set up the big send-off in order to orchestrate a "romantic" OTT reunion that has Daniel spontaneously proposing to a gushing and adoring Jennifer the moment he returns and she runs into his arms.

I believe the writers were headed down that road. But now, with talk of re-writes, they're likely revising their plans. We may still have to sit suffer through the gushing reunion and proposal, but they are probably re-writing the outcome.

I appreciate HOW the preview is written, inferring and questioning rather than telling, it's just that nothing sounds intriguing enough to start watching the show again.

I need the team to start writing a soap opera for savvy adults, not adolescent dolts.

So where is this MURDER MYSTERY the show has been teasing? Doesn't sound like it's happening for Feb Sweeps. Another lackluster, boring set of shows. . .

Brady and Madison have to be one of the couples getting engaged. I'm going to guess Daniel pops the question to Jennifer when he comes back from his little sabbatical, which I'll welcome because it moves their story further. Hopefully, the engagement ups the stakes for Jennifer's lingering feelings for Jack, and she'll come to her senses at the wrong (really right for Jack and Jennifer fans) time before the ceremony.

I couldn't care less if they go there. Good riddance! Maybe they can ride off into the sunset and never return, I'll be happy with that!

I just don't want TPTB to waste my time telling a story that nobody is interested in watcihing. If this is going to be the Jen-Jack Angst--it is so lame. By Days standards, they'd go on for atleast 6 months, before getting anywhere near the alter. I stand firm, complete objection, unless it can be wrapped up in under a months time.

THIS!!!! I COMPLETELY AGREE!!!
It's not about the characters or pairings. The problem is MarDar! They just suck.

Better yet, maybe the proposal follows an announcement that they're leaving Salem to elope, and travel the world.

I think the biggest problem is none of the stories have any stakes. Just talking about Daniel/Jennifer - where is the story?

Wait, you mean "Jennifer is torn" ISN'T A STORY?! Somebody get MarDar on the phone right now--I think we have some unpleasant news for them.

Iīm all for Daniel proposing, but only if Jennifer says yes. If she continues her "Iīm torn" game I donīt think I can bear it anymore. Itīs just so pointless. Unfortunatelly, the SOD article seems to hint just that.

Iīm 100 percent sure one of the proposal is Bradison. They have rushed their relationship beyond reason to make them a solid couple before Ianīs character arrives and engagement is the confirmation how solid they are.

If Daniel isnīt proposing, the second one has to be EJ/Nicol renewing their marriage. I could see EJ proposing again overjoyed after he wins the election. And it will highten the stakes before the grieve sex is out.

What I don't understand is how these idiot writers are still going at it with this "I'm torn" gig with Jennifer. People have been sick of this shit for months, and have made it clear whether it be on Twitter, Facebook, the boards, the comment line, snail mail, etc. How in the world can they change nothing? Are they plain stupid?

I've tried my best to be respectful of these guys, but they're total morons! It's like they're purposely trying to flush this show down the toilet. "Oh you hate fickle Jennifer? We'll add 3 more months of that!". WTF?

Gone, But Not Forgotten!

Jennifer Horton deserves a chance for redemption and this better be what the rewrites are all about. If not, MR is best to pack her bags and quit while she's ahead, because the fallout of anything else is going to be disasterous. TIIC need to stop this character's assasination.
Hell, if TPTB are spending quality time on Quinn and his redemption storyline, then Jen better be next in line. This jerk's was on screen for about 6 months and his character is getting a super-duper fix me up already. Something is really wrong here, MARDAR must still hitting the sauce, when coming up with their stupendous ideas.
