For enjoying a birthday party she looks stupid.
To me, yes, but it's less the enjoyment and the silly, sappy high pitched tone she uses to express her love. She sounds stupid.
I think Ari has been overdoing it with the "cutesy" stuff lately. Well give me cutesy over the screeching and stomping that the Beast does day in and day out.

I was wondering why Johnny and Allie weren't around for the party, especially Johnny at the DiMera mansion. Soccer!
LOL at Sami's reaction to Rafe wanting to come along with her to the mansion in costume. I knew Nicole would be the one to say something about Rafe's outfit. Gotta love Arianne Zucker and her comedic timing. She's blessed!
I have no problem seeing the town square every single episode. Unlike the pier or even the pub, it's a common place where it's not awkward to see ANY character on the show there. I think the show's decision to create this set is brilliant and allows them to have any characters interact on the set without anyone thinking it's weird that said character is there, which has been mentioned several times over the years about said characters and said sets.

Well give me cutesy over the screeching and stomping that the Beast does day in and day out. Can't we get rid of both? For me, it's not really an either/or situation. I'd prefer to get rid of Sami's crap first, but that doesn't change my frustrations with Nicole.

All I wish is Ari got more airtime. I hate seeing her being so underused while a certain other seems to hog up all the storylines.

I just want ONE scene, just ONE, where EJ turns to Nicole and THANKS HER for the BABYSWITCH because all that bonding Nicole fostered between EJ and Sydney is now coming to fruition and she's a Daddy's Girl. It's no surprise Johnny's allegiance seems to be more fickle because there was no one around to support EJ's bonding with his son. Sami's focus was on getting the kids to bond with Rafe.
And honestly, since EJ was still so obsessed with Sami round one, he would've told her Syd was hers if Nic told him the truth and the fight for custody would've been from Day One. In hindsight, girlfriend Nicole was RIGHT!
I pretty much disagree with every word of this. For the past several months we've seen absolutely no indication that Sydney is a Daddy's girl - or that either she or EJ spent more than a passing moment thinking about one another. EJ handed the kids over to Sami and hasn't seemed to be all that bothered by it since. And I say this as a huge EJ fan. As for Johnny - he spent months living with EJ (and Nicole) while Sami was in witness protection - so he certainly had opportunity to bond with EJ. Throughout his life EJ had been the more constant presence - until EJ handed him over to Sami last Summer. And as for Nicole having been right in switching babies and lying to everyone about it? Just no. :shame:
At the Horton Town Square, when EJ asked Sami's permission to approach the kids, Sydney readily came over to EJ RIGHT AWAY, it was Johnny who needed the extra OK from Sami to approach his father. Johnny had already been infected with Sami's push/pull with EJ, screeching every chance she got that she wanted to BE with Lucas and threatening to take her child with her BEFORE Nicole came to live at the DiMansion. Where Sami is always trying to prevent the children from spending time with EJ, Nicole was ALWAYS promoting EJ and Syd's bond. Sydney's crib was SMACK IN THE MIDDLE of the DiMansion's living room, right next to EJ's desk. There were many scenes of EJ and Nicole giving Sydney her bottle in the middle of the night. EARLY BONDING is essential Child Rearing 101. Sami and EJ lived together and shared the responsibility for caring for both Johnny and Allie from the time the twins were just a few months old until Sami left for witness protection - and then Johnny continued to live with EJ (and Nicole). Even if Sami might have been wishing she was with Lucas I don't think Johnny would have had any idea. In fact, when Lucas returned from prison there were scenes that showed that Allie showed a preference for EJ (which made sense given that was who she'd spent more time with up to that point).
As for the scenes at HTS months ago, I think the intent was to show that Johnny was still upset with EJ because he'd seen and heard the news reports about what EJ had done in regard to Rafe.
And the bottom line is - these kids' preferences are always at the whim of what plot point the writers are trying to sell at any given moment. There was a point in time when Safe had split up before EJami reunited in 2010 where we were to believe that Johnny clearly preferred EJ - to the point that Sami had to call EJ to come over and help her get him to bed.
Sydney's preferences today could be gone tomorrow based on whatever point the writers are trying to drive home.

Makes no sense that Johnny and Allie weren't there. Could they not get them that day? I'd think that were the case if it was just one of them (ie, maybe one set of twins was sick or something), but both tells me it was intentional. Fail. I used to miss any type of event for my brother's birthday parties.

Well give me cutesy over the screeching and stomping that the Beast does day in and day out. Why does it always have to come down to Nicole vs. Sami? Can't people dislike the actions of a character without comparing them to another? I don't see anyone here saying Sami is any better than Nicole - just that they aren't liking the writing and performance for Nicole these days. And I have to agree. I can't really fault Ari Z - it's not like they're giving her much to work with or even do these days. But it definitely feels like she's phoning it in.

Well the same thing can be said about almost any other character you post about on this board. You bring up Daniel, then Jack gets brought up. You bring up Rafe and Ej gets brought up. You bring up Sami, and Nicole/Carrie gets brought up. That's just how it is and it has happened with almost all fans of various characters at different times

I was just re-watching and I just love how natural AZ is with the nu-Syd. The way she gets the little girl excited about opening the presents then she puts a purple bow in her outfit- cute!
Blah....ba...blah..ba ...blah...yes Hope thats what I hear when I see this stupid conversation with Steffy.

Sorry I'm not seeing that at all. She is actually far more suspicious of Ej then the Beast was during the sydnapping. Actually I remember the Beast blindly trusting Ej and believing every word. Nicole on the otherhand loves Ej but at the same time knows that Ej is up to something. And in fact from what I read she is still suspicious even after his confession this week. To me a fool would be someone who is believing every word and I'm honestly not seeing that with Nicole at all. But that is just me.

And if people bring up Sami its because of how GLARINGLY bad AS has when given SO MUCH material, while all AZ has is being PR on EJ's campaign...not even in the top 10 in airtime for two months already. I dont see AZ phoning in, I see her trying to bring life to the same tired words. Yet, of those few lines people mention Nicole's lines as the best of today...guess she does have the gravitas to pull people in enough to watch her and comment. Gold star for AZ for having people talk about her performance of 10 lines of dialog. Imagine the great performances she'll bring to DAYS if they actually gave her a story!

And it doesn't matter to me if EJ was just a tad smarter than Daniel or Nicole isn't quite as dumb as Sami or Austin is the biggest idiot of all. None of it is entertaining and it's only more frustrating when previously savvy characters, like Nicole, are now easily duped by the latest tickle fight or shiny trinket.

I like AZ a lot and I'm disappointed that she really has no storyline to speak of so I understand her phoning it in but I don't find it that acceptable. I just don't understand why she seems to be playing Nicole for a fool. Yes, they have shown her to wonder what EJ is up to but her naivety regarding his honesty is astounding.
Naivety? Sorry I'm not seeing that at all. She is actually far more suspicious of Ej then the Beast was during the sydnapping. Actually I remember the Beast blindly trusting Ej and believing every word. Nicole on the otherhand loves Ej but at the same time knows that Ej is up to something. And in fact from what I read she is still suspicious even after his confession this week. To me a fool would be someone who is believing every word and I'm honestly not seeing that with Nicole at all. But that is just me. Nope, not just you.
Nicole can't win. She's dumb now to actually try to be honest with EJ and somewhat believe his words. I say somewhat because she has questioned them on several occasions. Now, if Nicole figures it out, its that she's just has the Salem Brain and that she doesnt trust EJ.
Oh great....back to the beast attacking everyone...talk about phoning it in...using the fuckin rotary dial from Ma Bell!

And in all of those cases it deflects from the initial comments/criticisms/praise the post was intended to address and it becomes a competition about who is better or worse rather than discussing the original critique. Guess watching all that stomping the Beast was doing earlier was giving me a headache. :stars: That's all I could think to talk about.
