TFP. Poor kid did not need to see Daddy's whore give him a gaping open mouth kiss.
Well imagine her reaction if he was kissing the beast. She'd have to see the reenactment of the Beauty and the Beast all over again.
Beauty & the Beast would be more age appropriate.

The Bo/Hope/Stefano stuff was a waste as Matt said. It was the same crap as Friday with no new developments. I would've rather had more focus on the party (especially since we get no followup with that tomorrow, which is a BIG mistake IMO...you have all that tension between characters in one room and you don't continue it tomorrow?).

I agree with Drew about HTS. It's a location that makes sense in terms of having people frequent it regularly. It's believable and just like when people go to the same place for breakfast or lunch each day or take the same walk during their lunch break.

Deidre Hall looked amazing today in that lingerie. Wow. J&M don't bother me as much when their together providing they aren't together every day so today I actually enjoyed them together. Something was up with the production today and I like it. Everything looked a little brighter/bolder in terms of color. For instance, Dee's hair looked darker and so did Joe Mascolo's and Drake Hogestyn's. Bet that is a Lisa De Cazzote change.

The party stuff was great. I loved the Carrie/Austin fight. Loved Sami and Austin's snide comments (and dirty looks) and Marlena and John trying to help out Carrie and Austin. I felt so bad for Austin when he said he wanted to spent time with his wife but he didn't think she wanted to with him. Such a sad but great line. I just loved that Will/EJ scene where Will showed no remorse over telling Sami where Sydney was. EJ realized what Will was becoming and how much he was enjoying going after his mother. That was a really effective scene and well played by James and Chandler. Loved Nicole's comment about Rafe's costume too. I didn't mind Johnny and Allie not being there because they explained where they were. My issue is that there is no followup to all this tomorrow with Johnny and Allie showing up then. EJ and Nicole just arrived. There is so much tension to be played with all those people at the party. We NEEDED to see that tomorrow but we don't. Horrible writing. Hopefully, De Cazzote changes this format of forcing all of the beats of one particular story into one episode.

I was impressed with how crafty Abe was getting out of getting caught but I have a feeling EJ is going to pull a fast one on Abe. I think he will surprise EJ at the debate and will have the real questions and Jennifer's reporter friend will be revealed to have worked for EJ. Just a guess but I think he knew exactly what Abe was up to, especially since Jennifer and Lexie told EJ to his face a few weeks back that they thought he would try to get the debate questions in advance.

It's a shame that we dont get to see the death stares between Will and Sami, Marlena and EJ, Sami and Rafe, Sami and EJole, and we'll have Abe coming and Jen, his bodyguard. Would of been pretty good. Maybe Steffy and BOPE could have dropped by since they were pacing back and forth in the HTS.

I like your idea of the reporter working for EJ, Jen did mention that he didnt want to cross a DiMera. I think EJ can charm an answer, he'll just be mad that he had to work a little harder. :D

The only stupid looking ones in that party was bodyguard Jen with her Ms Priss hairstyle and the Beast stomping...oh, and Rafe flashing Syd in that costume.

The best part was EJ kissing Nicole as he was holding Syd...so beautiful and natural!
this part?

I just want ONE scene, just ONE, where EJ turns to Nicole and THANKS HER for the BABYSWITCH because all that bonding Nicole fostered between EJ and Sydney is now coming to fruition and she's a Daddy's Girl. It's no surprise Johnny's allegiance seems to be more fickle because there was no one around to support EJ's bonding with his son. Sami's focus was on getting the kids to bond with Rafe.

And honestly, since EJ was still so obsessed with Sami round one, he would've told her Syd was hers if Nic told him the truth and the fight for custody would've been from Day One. In hindsight, girlfriend Nicole was RIGHT!
I pretty much disagree with every word of this. For the past several months we've seen absolutely no indication that Sydney is a Daddy's girl - or that either she or EJ spent more than a passing moment thinking about one another. EJ handed the kids over to Sami and hasn't seemed to be all that bothered by it since. And I say this as a huge EJ fan.

As for Johnny - he spent months living with EJ (and Nicole) while Sami was in witness protection - so he certainly had opportunity to bond with EJ. Throughout his life EJ had been the more constant presence - until EJ handed him over to Sami last Summer.

And as for Nicole having been right in switching babies and lying to everyone about it? Just no. :shame:
At the Horton Town Square, when EJ asked Sami's permission to approach the kids, Sydney readily came over to EJ RIGHT AWAY, it was Johnny who needed the extra OK from Sami to approach his father.

Johnny had already been infected with Sami's push/pull with EJ, screeching every chance she got that she wanted to BE with Lucas and threatening to take her child with her BEFORE Nicole came to live at the DiMansion. Where Sami is always trying to prevent the children from spending time with EJ, Nicole was ALWAYS promoting EJ and Syd's bond. Sydney's crib was SMACK IN THE MIDDLE of the DiMansion's living room, right next to EJ's desk. There were many scenes of EJ and Nicole giving Sydney her bottle in the middle of the night. EARLY BONDING is essential Child Rearing 101.
Sami and EJ lived together and shared the responsibility for caring for both Johnny and Allie from the time the twins were just a few months old until Sami left for witness protection - and then Johnny continued to live with EJ (and Nicole). Even if Sami might have been wishing she was with Lucas I don't think Johnny would have had any idea. In fact, when Lucas returned from prison there were scenes that showed that Allie showed a preference for EJ (which made sense given that was who she'd spent more time with up to that point).

As for the scenes at HTS months ago, I think the intent was to show that Johnny was still upset with EJ because he'd seen and heard the news reports about what EJ had done in regard to Rafe.

And the bottom line is - these kids' preferences are always at the whim of what plot point the writers are trying to sell at any given moment. There was a point in time when Safe had split up before EJami reunited in 2010 where we were to believe that Johnny clearly preferred EJ - to the point that Sami had to call EJ to come over and help her get him to bed.

Sydney's preferences today could be gone tomorrow based on whatever point the writers are trying to drive home.
Seriously? OF COURSE, the kids preferences are plot points. They're fictional kids! We're commenting on the story as currently written (or so I thought) not on real life kids and what their mindset would be etc etc.....

Your opinion about the HTS scenes may be that the intent was solely to show Johnny's hesitance but unless you read the writers' intent somewhere that's your take on the intent. What I saw was Sydney readily running to Daddy and that to me equals, she misses him.

Nicole can't win. Now it seems Ari can't either. The WRITERS have NO INTERESTING DIALOGUE FOR ANYONE. Excempting fight scenes between EJ and Sami and AS has difficulty acting those out sometimes. Ari has been doing wonders just with facial expressions because the material is zilch. The scenes today were of a woman doting on a little girl. Standing by her husband and the way Ari grabbed JS's arm and stood by him, she wordlessly acted out Nic's support of her husband. When Sami forced EJ to say he was too busy to attend Syd's party, Ari acted out an evil eye. She can't ad-lib, there was nothing written for her to say, yet I was still drawn to her reactions. It is hardly the actresses fault she's being written as solely EJ's appendage.

The writers had EJ do the same thing with Johnny when he had full custody of the kids. The kids are used at the whim of the whim of the writers, whatever.

What doesn't make sense is when the said children are afraid of the loving parent who's on the pouts with the one that has full custody for NO reason at all and the same writers were selling that BS last year with Johnny and EJ before the infamous tablenapping. I'm glad Nicole is playing the supportive wife, EJ needs that now more than ever while wading through Sami's doo doo poo.

The Ejoleney scenes were absolutely adorable. Sami was always pimping Rafe as substitute father to children who have a father who loves them more than anything, if I was Sydney, I'd want my daddy too, whether it's plot driven or not.

Seriously...there's no pleasing people. Nicole is BARELY on the show and poeple still complain. The woman is finally happy but she's somehow is not written in character (poep dronk and falling over furniture) The reason she was even a drunk all those years ago was because she was NOT happy, she was miserable! Some people wanted a cat and mouse (Mr and Mrs Smith) type of relationship for EJole, we finally have that with Nicole trying to find out what she knows EJ is hiding from her but we also see that she's madly in love with her husband who equally dotes on her but that's not enough.

I for one love everything about Nicole and EJole, I love how they are showing her growth from the crazed individual during the baby switch era and even before that. At the core she's still the same Nicole, loving and fearlessly loyal. There was such a glaring contrast between the two women on Monday, let's be honest they will always be compared to each other. Nicole came off as far superior than Sami who couldn't wait to stick the knife in EJ and twist it for good measure when she forced him to say he was too busy for his little girl.

Sami is a terrible mother/individual but she was CRUEL here, placing her selfish needs above her daughter's. she's beyond selfish, she's self centred and shows little to almost no regard for the well being of her children. She's shown to care more for her job of sticking it to Kate than caring to find out why Will was being horrible to her. She had the audacity to play victim when she showed up at the Dimera's huffing puffing about how mean EJ was to her, SHE TRIED TO KILL HIM!

Cafe should have started after the beast sex reveal and not a minute before. i don't understand why this character must continue to skate through consequences and comeout smelling of roses when she continue to screw everything up. I loved Will ruining her perfect plans of keeping EJ away from Sydney and I will continue to LOVE and CHEER Will as long as he makes her pay since everybody alse is dumbed down to kiss her bedazzling ass.

I hope little Johnny and Allie were wearing parkas while playing soccer in the Midwest in January. Maybe Johnny got to even hold hands with his stuffed penguin while playing outside in below freezing weather.

Monday's show actually had a soap feel, it's too bad like others have said that there is zero continuation into tomorrow's episode.

One last note, does Renee Jones ever fucking age?

I missed this earlier but THIS is something that has been bugging me forever!!! EJ should have THANKED Nicole for the babyswitch. Because of Nicole, he got to be with his daughter from DAY 1!!! I could understand his anger for Nicole's lies, but with time I think he would be grateful for the time she GAVE him with his daughter--time that SAMI intended to rob from EJ!

:applause: :applause: Bravo! Everything you wrote is SPOT ON!!

I love the growth they've given to Nicole's character, while still maintaining some core qualities (strength, resilience and smarts). She's grown far more as a character than Sami over the years, and YES, of course the two characters will be compared! Nicole and Sami have been in each other's orbits from the beginning --back when Lucas and Eric were on the canvas.

IF AS was even half the actress AZ was, I could possibly find some sympathy for the character of Sami. Unfortunately, the Sween's acting ability has never progressed (in fact regressed) over the years--and she's still playing Sami like she did as a teenager. Until AS can bring depth to her character and convey some sort of growth or UNSELFISH regret with Sami, I will continue to wish she was OFF THIS SHOW for good.

Ali/Sami's role on the show is to be melodramatic, over-the-top, campy, SOAPY. That's her job.
It's not the part Nicole, Carrie, Hope or anyone else play. They serve different purposes.

Ali in those TurboTax commercials is a good example. Brilliant and hella funny!

I LIKE AS, I've seen her in the character since she was a kid. And I believe she gives her all to the character. I just think her range is limited. She can't do romantic lead. She's better as a manipulating conniver. I actually liked her scenes today when she first walked into the pub, opened the door and just stood there aghast at what was happening. Patrick Muldoon was good too, Austin started to greet Sami then turned to see what she was so intently focused upon and spoke up. Very subtle and natural reactions from both actors. And Ali played Sami with some attempted maturity, trying hard not to over react. Even rejecting Carrie's offer to be the Princess since Carrie was already in costume. Cut to Sami with EJ, Sami was a TWELVE year old! And AS added no nuance to the character, the majority of the time AS plays Sami as barking at EJ (while overly accenting the last syllable in the last words of each sentence). Sami's 'attraction' to EJ is very complex but AS plays Sami as black and white. We NEVER see the layers. That's why i can't get behind their story (even if on paper, a DiMeara and a Brady emotionally entangled sounds like a great story).

IMO, AZ has become a better actress. She conveys many emotions with her facial expressions. Sometimes she has Nicole look at EJ with so much love but something crosses her eyes that reads fear. Fear of being hurt again. Ari has the ability to portray vulnerability, AS can't. I was tired of loser Nicole. I'm glad she's being written as a woman adored by her husband, if this means she has to be sweet and supportive for a bit, fine. She's also smart enough to suspect something is up and it obviously keeps EJ on his toes. I'm enjoying this Nicole too and glad she has no reason to drink other than Kate.

Sexy John and Marlena scenes on my birthday? I APPROVE! Deidre looked amazeballs btw!
Happy Birthday! :) And I agree, Deidre looked amazing! And how sexy did John look with his shirt partly open in that third scene? Yum!! They should have just stayed home all day partly dressed instead of going to that party.

And what is up with their kisses being so dang short now? :( Totally not fair!

Great episode though...I enjoyed it. :)
