I'm happy to see Chandler at the top. I just hate that Ari didn't make the list. Use her morons, she's too talented to be back-burned.

So disappointed that Drake Hogestyn isn't in the top 10. Ugh.

Thrilled about CMassey, though. He and Kate Mansi are fantastic finds. Keep using them!

Days rocks so hard right now.

Wow ... that's a lot of the under 5 for one month. Was there any special reason?

No. That was the usual amount back then. I wanted to show the difference in the 1987 budget vs. the 2012 budget. It was commonplace to use tons of U/5s in each episode. Now, there's only a few U/5s used per week, if that. In fact, other than Sydney & Theo, the only U/5 who spoke the entire month was Rob, the war vet. All of the other U/5s (Mr. French/Will's contact, the 2 spa techs, cameraman, makeup artist, and Isaac the dog) didn't even speak. That's definitely a record for recent years (only 3 U/5s who spoke the entire month: Theo, Sydney and Rob). You'd have to go back to the 1960's for so few U/5s used in one month.

Very cool info. Thanks Jason.

It's really too bad that they've cut back, I really do think it makes a difference. It's refreshing to hear other voices on a show, even if it's only a few words.

Are writers not salaried? I didn't think they worked on the same contractual guarantee system the actors do.

Matt Ashford appeared the least of any contract cast member except Peggy McCay and Josh Taylor (who, let's face it, are recurring in everything but name) that's absolutely ridiculous.

I must admit as a JS fan, it's so weird not seeing his name at the top of the list anymore. But if not JS, there's no one better to be in #1 than Chandler! LUV that kid! I'm really sad that AZ isn't on there. :(

It's also SOOOOO freakin' FANTASTIC that this list is Tan & Teeth free! :applause:

Glad to see all of the characters that made the top 10. Thinking back on Christopher Gerse's days as Will, who would ever think that character would be leading the ranks for a whole month? Not me!

To me, the show is too balanced. They are so worried about featuring as much of the cast as possible that they force too many beats into one episode and then provide no followup to the stories featured on a particular episode the next day. There is no flow to the show at all. Friday and today were great because today did followup on Friday but tomorrow we get no followup on anything from today. The party stuff just ends abruptly at the end of today and we move on to the next day tomorrow. Horrible writing.

WTG, Chandler! That's awesome.

It certainly feels like AS was on more than 12 episodes. Sigh.

And where's Ari? She should be there instead of SB. I care nothing about Madison.

Which is why I've barely watched this month. And even when he was on, it was in scenes that were really not all that interesting. I really hope February picks up for him.

The same goes for Matt Ashford, another one of my favorites. It is ridiculous that he was only on four times this month. Why did the show even bother to bring him back, only to use him once a week? You can't write a story for someone who's barely on.

I can only hope that they're saving them for bigger stories coming up because if this is what the year's going to be like, I'm going to be SO disappointed. I can really only take so much of Sami, E.J., Brady and Madison. :hmmph:

ITA! I stay away from Days Ahead & most spoilers, so I was completely shocked today that the party was over & had ended off screen. I was looking forward to seeing Sami, EJ & Will all at the same party & Sami dealing with that tension on top of the Rafe & Carrie tension. :frustration:
