I was skeptical about Carrie and Austin's return but now I'm even more convinced that their return is a big waste of time! Carrie isn't a good wife or sister. I guess payback for what Sami has put her through but still c'mon! Rafe is unrecognizable at this point and he wouldn't be lusting after his SIL! It's completely unbelievable, not to mention there's no history between them, no buildup, no nothing! :toetap: |

No matter what you think, I DO love you.

That would be pretty great. I'd much prefer that to this insta-lust they're pushing on us. I thought a good building up to a Cafe pairing could work, I mean I see the chemistry there and it would have just made for juicy conflict for everyone involved. But the writers have gone at Cafe all wrong. It's coming off as cheap. If she were just doing this to rattle Sami, that would be wonderful. I've really enjoyed how Christie's playing her reactions to Rafe saying that Sami only said such nice things about her sister, and Carrie's snide comments about how Rafe's now seeing the Sami she's known all her life. It's like she can't wait for this Sami charade to fall and for Sami to show her true colors. I love her relationship with J&M, it's been written pretty solidly each time they're together. Love the sister animosity between her and Sami, it's great and they should never really be friends. I like her with Austin, and I think they should be endgame but I'm not opposed the the Cafe thing (although at the moment I'm not really too thrilled with how it's being written). I do find Rafe more enjoyable around Carrie than Sami (and yes I hate Sami but I just didn't like him as the puppy dog stuck up Sami's golden ass...nothing hot or sexy about it at all). He does these cute little smiles and smirks around Carrie, and I dig it. I think GG is a good looking guy and just could never buy the intense attraction Rafe was suppose to have for Sami. |

I really feel like Carrie is being written completely OOC...I just don't understand how she could be doing what she is doing (and going to be doing) to Austin...this is a man she fought to be with for most of her life...while he has made mistakes in the past (and so has she) it just makes no sense to me for her to be turning to Rafe...its is not natural to me and the writing is majorly forced and plot driven. I just hate Rafe, he really brings down all the characters around him and he is doing that to Carrie...I just don't want to see her fuck him and break Austin's heart :( |

I also don't like how DAYS has turned Carrie into such a serial cheater....first with Mike, then with Austin (while with Lucas, but this made sense...) and now with Rafe....is taudry and well I just don't like it. I don't want Carrie to be perfect...but I don't want her to be a whore either. I DO like that this is really going to sting for Sami...and she deserves it for all the torture she has put Carrie through over the years...but CAUSTIN :( I love them....I grew up loving them :( |

Yes, Carrie can be loyal to Jarlena, but she can also be a selfish person. I understand why she may want to get back at Sami, because of all of the crap she has done to her over the years, and this is how I view Carrie. Carrie has always been perfect from when she was a little girl all through high school and college. She his been beautiful, smart, popular with lots of friends. So this makes her feel like she should alwasy be better than her sister Sami, and Sami shouldn't pass her in any category. Carrie didn't like that Rafe was in Sami's corner, and a prime example is when Gabi said Sami had Rafe and Carrie snorted and rolled her eyes, and John caught her. She lied and covered it up by saying it had to do with the case. Now I have no problem with her hooking up with Rafe, because I want Sami to get away from him and run to someone else. Now Carrie has a loving husband at home, and a man that she has claimed to have love for years, but the minute something happens that she doesn't like she starts looking for comfort somewhere else. Sami has been a huge problem between her and AUstin over the years, but the last time she was in town, and this time Sami has not been interested in him. Remember the only reason Sami went after Austin was because Lucas wouldn't take her back and Lucas wanted Carrie. So she did it to let Lucas have Carrie and she hooked up with Austin. Now Sami was completely wrong for forcing Lexie to tell Carrie those lies that she couldn't have a healthy baby with Austin. At the same tiem it wouldn't have gone that far if Carrie wasn't being selfish and decided to hide it from Austin and Lucas. Now if Sami did something like that people would be saying she was selfish, and Carrie was being selfish. All she had to do was tell Austin what Lexie said, and then they could have done invetro but no she didn't do that/ Instead when she finds otu she isn't pregnant she decides to cheat on Lucas with Austin. Now she's about to cheat on Austin with Rafe. I know that once Carrie gets this out of her system she will come running back ot Austin, and I hope he kicks her to the curb and makes her work for it this time around. Why not have someone form Austin's past before Salem instead ot this stuff with Abby. |

I don't understand her either. Portrayed like a prude, miss innocent, always going after Sami's leftovers. I think she likes some of the things she sees in Sami, but is not 'happy' with her own life choices. Brains and beauty....what has that got her? Loveless marriage...no kids. I think she is emotionally void.... TPTB never develop her with layers. Once she is done with this SL... I can see her retreating back to Switzerland to hide from the truths of her dull and boring life. I can't stand her flirty nature and find zero sex appeal for her character. |

I think it's a misconception that Carrie has always been perfect. She and RoJohn had issues. Before cc returned at the end of 92, Tracy Middendorf's Carrie had conflict with Roman, Marlena, and John that came to a head when she decided to move out. Before that, she was seducing Lawrence Alamain. I actually kind of think 1992 Carrie was a protype for Sami. Cc's Carrie and Marlena struggled when she first began to flirt with Mike. The one time I think they really missed the boat at having her face consequences was in 2006. I think if they hadn't decided to let her go do quickly, there might have been some focus on that. |

I agree. Carrie shouldn't be a whore. She used to be the one fans could see as the next Jennifer or Marlena. Those characters have also had damaging storylines and have made it through. I have no doubt the same will happen with Carrie and Austin. And I disagree with those who say that Carrie does not love Austin. Nothing I have seen has shown she does not love Austin. This girl didn't just move heaven and earth to be with him because of Sami. Their history predates Sami's crush. I think she's disappointed in Austin. And she's just as self-absorbed as Sami. And that gets in the way of Caustin. Much like Austin's hero complex gets in their way. I'm not a Caustin fan but I respect the couple, who's history is as long as and is connected to my favorite, Lumi. Carrie will always be apart of the best foursome coming out of the 90s and one of the best foursomes on this show. Edited by Aliaron, Feb 1 2012, 02:02 PM.

I like the idea of character discussions. Good plan! As far as this particular character (Carrie), I haven't got many thoughts on her, because I don't really care about her one way or the other. Nor do I care about Rafe or Austin, so whatever, as far as the cheating with Rafe thing. The only thing I have rather liked with Carrie is her relationship with John. I was mildly interested in her during the little romance with Mike, but that was really only because I was interested in Mike. |

I don't agree that Carrie is a whore anyway. I think that term gets used way too often. She's slept with what 3 guys in all her years on the show (Austin, Mike, and Lucas). She ended up married to two of the guys and left town with third in some kind of committed relationship. I realize that she cheated on her husbands, but as far as I can tell she hasn't done so lightly or just for the sake of having sex and without emotion attachments. She might not be perfect (and I like it that way) but she's not a whore. |

I love Christie Clark and the character of Carrie, however I don't like that how she is written most of the time. Carrie is written in almost a bi-polar sort of way, in my opinion. She's supposed to be the good sister, the one that everyone looks up to, yet she is portrayed as a cheater time and time again. I don't like that. DAYS doesn't have many women on the show who are all-in-all a good person, and I feel like Carrie should fall into that category. However, I find it hard to root for her in that way when she keeps cheating on her spouses. This time around is especially worse, because there was no build-up to her feelings for Rafe. Snoresville. |

I have never been a fan of Carrie's. She has been portrayed by Marlena as little miss sweetheart who can do no wrong, while Sami, Marlena's real daughter, was always the "bad seed". Carrie has always been a cheater, and she never cared whether or not she was married when she cheated or if the person she was cheating with was married or engaged. She never cared who she hurt in the process as long as she got the guy she wanted. Then, when she had had her fill of him, dropped him, and ran back to Austin, who has always taken her back. Carrie has had her eye on Rafe since she returned to Salem and it's been very obvious by her hugs and flirty looks that she has had one thing on her mind. I think she can't stand that Sami has a good man and a family and is finally happy with everything she always wanted. Carrie may get Rafe in her bed, but she won't have his heart, and he will get dumped like all the other guys once she is done with him. This whole Rafe/Carrie thing is contrived and beyond stupid. Rafe has had to be written totally out of character to be with her and cheat on his wife. The couple is boring and forced, written way too fast to get to a plot point of sister vs sister fight over a man -- again. It's time for Carrie to grow up and decide who and what she wants in life instead of grabbing onto other women's men. It's time to end the sister feud over a man and have Sami and Carrie act like mature women, not teenagers. |

Heres the thing that frustrates me. It seems everyone is so quick to blame Carrie now.. "HOW DARE SHE! SHAME ON HER!" , when we should be simply ENJOYING that Carrie is stealing Sami's husband from her. for all of us Sami haters, Carrie is a god sent. I personally applaud her. |

After all this time, what does Carrie think is going to happpen? I know why she likes to torment Sami, but doesn't she care for Austin. Shallow and fickle characters are so over done on this soap. Carrie clearly doesn't trust herself or Austin. Can't we have at least a couple of sane woman on Days, who aren't ready to dump their spouse, when the going gets tough. Not liking this new Carrie. She seems very pigheaded and egotistical, almost like becoming a lawyer has given her the go ahead to act this way. Ignore your husband, have your fling, then get out of town. I don't mind if you leave Austin behind.

This is exactly what Alison Sweeney wanted. She wants everyone to put full blame on Carrie so Sami looks like a saint. Well, I understand Rafe and Carrie's attraction towards each other and I think Carrie has saved her brother in law Rafe from a lifetime of misery with her fat, selfish bitch of a sister. |

Let me continue on with that post so no one gets confused. The reason I defend Carrie so much is because its understandable after being in a marriage for so many years that you lose that connection, and Carrie is growing closer to Rafe and personally I can see the attraction towards each other..they both have MUCH more in common then Rafe/Sami and Carrie/Austin do IMO. Now lets take a look at Sami and what she did.. she fucked her ex the SAME night her son Johnny went missing, shes a complete whore and utter trash. I do not buy this whole "grief sex" bullshit. Theres no excuse for what she did, shes just simply a selfish whore.. at least with Carrie, we're watching her bond with another man who understands her better. I can buy that! and the best part of all, Sami is gonna lose everything in the end..its definitely worth it.. I won't hold anything against Carrie for it, i'll just simply call it karma. Sami is finally gonna get what's coming to her once and for all |
