This actually sounds really good. I can suspend belief that there was no possible way John and Hope got married while she was Gina because we saw all of what happened back in 1999 up until the point Hope was no longer Gina. I love that they're bringing Alamainia into this. Who cares if we never saw John and Hope there? I don't. It's very interesting, and I hope it turns into something where the several other characters end up going there as well.

Much better than John and Hope having a child, or that child turning out to be EJ.

Marriage Shocker for John and Hope!

Bo encourages Hope to open the envelope from the safety deposit box, but she is reluctant. However, after Hope thinks that Alice has sent her a sign, she finally tears into it and finds a marriage certificate -- with hope and John's names on it. "It is just shocking to her," says Kristian Alfonso. "There is such an array of emotions that she goes through and, of course, the end is the guilt of, 'I never should've pushed this. Gran was right to hide everything.' She is in awe of an incredible woman, who even from the grave was trying to protect her family, even if it was making a deal with the devil." After closer inspection, Hope notices that the document dates back to the time when Stefano brainwashed her. "In the back of her mind, there is always the possibility that it's not true because Stefano is involved," notes Alfonso. "She tries to hold on to the strength and knowledge that this may be a ruse."

Later, Bo and Hope inform John of the turn of events. John examines the certificate and is perplexed. "John wracks his brain trying to figure out the timing of when the marriage could have happened," shares Drake Hogestyn.

Next up, the unpleasant talk of telling Marlena. "Marlena is very surprises," Hogestyn discloses. "Finally, they all decide, 'What's the big deal?' John and Hope can just get an annulment." After the document is deemed authentic, John and Hope mull their options with Carrie. She explains that an annulment won't be simple because the marriage took place in Alamainia. "There is a whole different set of standards," Hogestyn explains, adding that John and Hope's presence in Alamainia is required to dissolve the marriage. Hogestyn teases, "Not only that, they have to stay for two weeks -- and no one else can go with them."

John and Hope: Married!

Bo and Hope finally open the mystery envelope and are stunned to discover a marriage certificate revealing that John and Hope are wed.

The Bradys share the news with John and Marlena, who are equally stunned. The couples meet at the Brady Pub to discuss their next course of action, especially after they receive confirmation that the marriage certificate is legitimate.

The group consults with Carrie, who explains that they cannot get an annulment, because John and Hope's marriage was consummated when she was Gina. Carrie also reveals that getting a divorce won't be a simple process. "They find out there is a whole different set of standards in Alamainia, where John and Hope were married," details Hogestyn.
This is impossible. The only time John and Hope consummated anything was when they were both under Stefano's control on the submarine in Hawaii. There was no trip to Alamainia -- no quickie wedding. John was kidnapped during his and Marlena's honeymoon, taken onto the submarine, banged by Hope (who was under Stefano's control) and then tossed into the ocean. We saw it all.

John and the real Gina might've gotten married back in the 80's, but John and Hope? It's impossible. Completely, physically impossible. When Hope was Gina from 1990 - 1994, John was in Salem carrying on with Diana, Isabella, Rebecca and Marlena. He wasn't under Stefano's control during any of those years. The only other time Hope was Gina was in 1999, and we saw what happened with her and John on the submarine. They were only together long enough for a quick screw and then John was dumped back into the ocean where he floated to shore and was found by Marlena. This all happened in Hawaii. There was no trip to Alamainia and no wedding.
Well thats disappointing...because I would be willing to give this story a shot if they could somehow explain to us how John and Hope are legally married thats actually believable, because i'm honestly not willing to believe some bullshit explanation, im just not

The stupid part is that Marlena nor Bo cant go. They could have all gone and Steffy somehow is puling the strings again and causing troubles for these couples...or even some other bad guy. Maybe someone with a grudge against Hope and John?

It just has halfway potential....then WTF...just like M&D's tenure has been so far.

Well I am sure that at some point both Marlena and Bo will end up there...I mean what are they gonna do if Hope/John don't come back after the two-weeks...they will be on the first plane there..and then the fun will begin (I hope...fingers CROSSED)

It would so much better if all of them were there. The four of them figuring all this out and jumping through hoops. Adventure, etc. Instead of John and Hope isolated and alone somewhere else.. And what will Bo and Marlena be doing in Salem while they are gone?

This is crap. John and Hope cannot be legally married because when Hope "died" she was still married to Bo. Just because she was brainwashed doesn't mean her marriage to Bo was invalid. Am I missing something here??????

I have feeling Bo and Marlena is going to end up there too.

These headwriters need to go! Too much history is being rewritten!
And their stories are horrible!
B&B are airing a wedding for their 25th anniversary when Hope and John are in Alamania.
I will be watching that instead. Days will lose out in the ratings.
So disappointed in this show and it's writers!

Gone, But Not Forgotten!

Travel and Adventure sounds like a great change of pace, and much needed for Days right now. HTS is so overused.... so I am onbaord with some time away for these cast members, and hoping their significant others end up there too. The spoiler says they are there for 2 weeks, so how long is that in soap time exactly?

Wow, you are TOTALLY right...though they did legally declare her dead, so perhaps that also nullified her legal marriage to Bo?? Can't be married to a corpse right?

I think this is really stupid. I hope there is much more to it. If not, what a let down.

Why can't Bo and Marlena go? Maybe there is a "rule" that they can't STAY with John and Hope, but I don't see why they can't still go along. Are they going to kick them out of the country?? So ridiculous.

Marlena goes to Bope's house and is distraught because she just found out that Hope and John were doing it under a table...Bolena do it on his couch...then they find out that Jope were trying to look for Hope's contact lens that fell out. Bolena decide to tell no one but Sami saw it (cause Sami just has to be in every SL) and blames Marlena for another 20 years. LOL

I have this feeling that in Salem, they probably have a simplified EZ form for when you return from the dead. I'm picturing a section like this:

1. Were you married to anyone when you were kidnapped/brainwashed/implanted with a brain chip/disappeared?

2. As a result of your disappearance and/or actual burial, were you declared dead?

3. If you were declared dead, has the person you were married to declared undying to love to and married someone else?

4. Do you want to still be married to the person who you were married to when you were declared Salem dead?

5. Would it be extremely inconvenient for you if your marriage was invalidated? (If the answer is yes, sorry--we're afraid your marriage is indeed invalid.)
