I think they've played that beat, but his strong desire to have a substitute dad is new and kind of random. It's actually pretty Sami-like though.

Oh, I dont agree that they haven't played that beat. I think they've been playing it since the day Chris Gerse was hired in 2003.

Definitely. Gerse's Will was also always fed up with his mother and wanting his parents together. What is striking to me is that, after watching some clips of Gerse on YT, it's totally believeable that Massey is the grown-up version of Gerse's Will. They have a very similar voice and speaking style.

Great soapy episode. My husband was almost late for work because he kept coming into the living room to watch. Whatever you feel about the characters and their motivations, this was an edge of your seat episode with a great cliffhanger ending. Sami is having a very bad, terrible, awful day! And I guess Carrie is falling off that pedestal that everyone has always put her on.

Don't get up. So how are you? What happened, eh? Let me guess, Stefano told you that you could fly,and you jumped off a building. HeHe It's funny right, no I'm sorry Bad EJ, I should'nt be that cruel!

"YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MAKES YOU?" YOU ARE A WHORE!" LOVE WILL!!!!!!!! :applause:

HOLLY SMOKES was that the accidental kiss that we were expecting? Rafe had his tongue wayyyyyy down Carrie mouth, if their love scene is going to be anything like that, they need to hit the sheets fast. I must have rewinded that Cafe kiss at least fives times,it was HOTTTTTTT! :tounge:

This is more where I was coming from. I recall Will wanting his parents to be together and just be 'normal'. I just never got all that as much over Rafe.

Like I said though, it makes sense.

I thought Ali did a good job today. I actually felt a twinge of sympathy for Sami when I usually want to slap her. Loved seeing a Friday cliffhanger again.
I did feel a little bit bad for her too. Those scenes were so good!! Chandler was great and I thought Ali was decent.

The whole show was good today! I was actually interested in the election story. The Carrie and Rafe stuff was just alright, but the kiss at the end and Sami walking in was a great cliffhanger.

Although I loved Will finally giving it to Sami, I just can't get into AS's "acting." She just is NOT a very good actress in my opinion. It detracts from a high powered scene like today's. If a similar situation was going on in a storyline with Marlena or Hope the angst and layers would have been so much more poignant. Sami was not selling true grief to me. She was shocked to be found out, but too me, she is shallow, and much more concerned about how Will's knowledge was affecting her and not him. Her inability to be empathetic is overwhelming.

I agree!!! Alison Sweeney is a horrible actress!!! Chandler Massey was bringing his A-game as usual, and AS just stil there with her EXTREMELY LIMITED range of emotions. She managed a few fake tears, but none of it was believable.

You would think that since AS has supposedly been "acting" most of her life that she'd be better. She's NOT. She just got outshined by an extremely talented young actor.

And THANK YOU, writers, for saying what most of us have been saying:

SAMI IS A WHORE.
EJAMI BEASTSEX WAS FILTHY.
EJAMI BEASTSEX WAS DISGUSTING.
SAMI JUST LIES LIES LIES. . and NEVER CARES ABOUT ANYONE BUT HERSELF!
SAMI SPENDS ALL HER TIME CHASING AFTER MEN -- WHO DO NOT LOVE HER :) :applause:

I wish there was a way for the writers to get Sami past her superficial character flaw. She just seems beyond having an "aha" moment. If there ever was a character I wish was backburnered, I wish it was this one. She seems completely incapable of any maturation or growth.

I would prefer much more screen time with Jack. He could be a great participant as an investigative reporter helping Jarlena and Bope crack the Alice/Stefano mysteries and putting the DiMera's on the run. AAAAAAAAND, Matt Ashford can actually act!

I thought AS was good this week, especially her scenes with Sarah Brown. I was impressed and hope to see more of fierce Madison.

This is the first week I have watched all 5 episodes in months. I hope DAYS continues how it is right now and from spoilers it seems like it will be continuing.

Me too...haven't watched 5 shows in a row in a LONG time now, not since November I think.

The show is showing small signs of improvement and things are FINALLY getting interesting again...but they have a LONG LONG LONG way to go still and there are SO many things on this show that needs to be fixed and actors that need to be fired/let go already!

I guess they never really focused on it, but Will was always so quick to accept pretty much anyone Sami married. Of course, Sami was the one always talking about his "new daddy" or being a family "just the three of them"(whoever the third might be). I don't think it's random, but I do agree they could have highlighted it more.

I agree that the Sami-Madison interactions bring out the best in AS's acting. I definitely thought CM outshined her today in the "I know you had sex with EJ" fight, but I think CM outshines many of the actors nowadays. He gets more and more amazing by the minute, and like others I loved his being "free" comment. And, I laughed out loud when Sami walked in with Rafe's tongue down Carrie's throat. Are Rafe and Carrie seriously going to call that make-out session innocent? :P

All in all, a great Friday episode with lots of drama and cliffhanger goodness! Looking forward to Monday!!

What an episode!

Wow, that Sami/Will confrontation was everything I could've wanted. Chandler Massey has his Emmy reel and AS did a very good job. I loved the dialogue, especially the mentions of Sami always being off chasing after men that didn't love her and also how Marlena at least loved John when she did what she did. Perfect scenes.

It was nice to see Rafe and Carrie finally doing something. Good scenes although I don't like how passionate the kiss was. I would've liked it to be more innocent. They were all over each other and, to me, that reflected badly on both characters. Maybe it's somewhat ok for Carrie given she's cheated before but not Rafe. Good cliffhanger ending though. Loved that and glad it gets followed up on, along with everything else that happened today, on Monday.

The debate stuff was good. I was so happy that things FINALLY turned personal. It's long past time that Lexie's cheating and EJ's shady dealings get tossed out there. Good stuff. Loved the EJ/Nicole stuff early in the show too. Good acting by James and Ari there.

All in all, the strongest episode of 2012 by far. This has been a very good week for Days. It's like things are finally clicking a little bit after weeks of improvement. Hope it keeps up.

Wow I LOVED Will so much today everything that he told Sami today was the complete truth. I totally agreed when he said that at least Marlena loved John hey I had been saying that ever since they came back to Salem and Sami instantly starting throwing up the past.

Classic line "You know what that makes you, you are a whore mom." I am so glad that Will is dishing out to Sami what she has been dishing out to her mother for years. It is just like her to be so critical of someone and when she does the same thins all she can do is make stupid excuses on why she did what she did. GO WILL GO keep it coming. I hope that he continues going at that hypocritical slut with both barrels.

How the hell she gonna kick Rafe out over one kiss when she had sex with another man. Oh when Rafe finds out this is going to be really good.

Has Will had the emotional breakdown and outburst that was mentioned "somewhere"? I don't remember where? Sami is still so intent on covering her ass. I want her to have to deal with her hypocritical behavior in front of her whole family. Marlena, Rafe, Carrie, Will, John... anyone she's lorded over in the past.

Ok, help me understand something. . Did ABE ever cheat on Lexie??? I know LEXIE cheated but I don't think Abe ever did. Has he??? It didn't make ANY sense for EJ to bring up past indiscretions, specifically because the guy had a VERY PUBLIC affair with his wife's sister!!! THAT was more recent than anything Abe has ever done. I know everyone wants to forget TAYWHORE never existed, but still that who exchange was just stupid.

My memory is always admittedly fuzzy on Brandon, but I think he was fine with things beforehand. Sami never really dated EJ, but when they were living together in 2010, he was fine with him kind of like he is now.

Jennifer the perpetual scowler wants Abe to always smile. Jennifer also keeps a headshot of herself on her mantle. That's weird.

You know...I'm with Jennifer on this. I don't see why Abe should be guilty. What he did wasn't that bad at all, IMO. It would have been bad if they were both being legitimately given the questions beforehand, but since the questions Abe switched were stolen anyway, I don't see the big deal.
