NBC's SuperBowl commercial starring pretty much all the shows on the channel is up on youtube. So I'm guessing, following the trend for the rest of the shows, that Deidre & Drake are representing DAYS and Sweeney is representing The Biggest Loser. Deidre posted on her FB earlier that she and Drake would be in the upper left corner, and they are - at the end of the clip. It's cute, actually. Who knew Amy P. could sing that well? |

Did they really fly the DH's to NYC for that half second long shot? Or did I miss another segment? |

Thanks for posting this! Dee and Drake got very little exposure but it's nice that they were at least included. (ABC did much better with its all-inclusive promos in 2008 or so.) It was cute, though. I enjoyed it. Nice to see the network TRY to get back to the '90s with these huge, blockbuster type promos for the whole lineup. |

Nope, seems they truly did. They could have just shot it in the studio, to be honest. Parks and Rec, The Office, SVU etc... all shot in LA. They could have done a cute little snippet with John & Marlena kissing on the couch as John tries to watch the SuperBowl. Edited by The Room Stops, Feb 5 2012, 04:58 PM.

That doesn't make me want to watch NBC. In fact, that would want me to watch ABC/CBS/Fox even more. |

To be fair, Carson Daly and others got the same treatment as the Days cast members. It's nice to have a shot of them, though. I must give kudos to NBC for giving us SOMETHING. That said, I thought Community and that Maya Rudolph sitcom were canceled. I obviously don't watch a lot of NBC outside of Days lol. Ditto for SVU! |

Looks like, toward the end, unless there's an audio error, Dee was off-script... |

They're small here, but on a large-screen TV I bet people would noticet hem. |

That was kinda annoying and it's one of those commercials I usually tune out. But seriously, they couldn't have done more to promote their one soap? Even a 2 second clip of daytime stars alone would have been better than throwing them into the back of a busy scene. |

Superbowl Viewer 1: "Hey dude, look at that upper left corner!" Superbowl Viewer 2: "Man that makes me want to watch Days of Our Lives so bad now!" |

The issue is not how small they look though, it's the fact that they're in a corner, amongst a variety of different actors. I don't think Drake and Deidre are who people notice when viewing this commercial - whether viewed on a 20" or 60". |

Seriously? I think it's impressive that they ANYONE from DAYS was included AT ALL. I remember back in the 80s when soaps were all the rage and the NBC soaps (DAYS, AW, SB) got included in the long, extended network wide Fall Preview promo and EVEN THEN is was a "blink and you miss them" situation and I remember being shocked, thrilled, and IMPRESSED that they were included at all. Now that the genre is clearly on its last legs, the LAST thing I would've expect would be that NBC even thought to include its sole remaining soap. When I first heard about them being included, I was shocked and didn't realistically expect any more than what they got and I'm TICKLED SHITLESS that they got THAT. |

I was just thinking along the same lines... if CBS did this, would the soaps be included? Doubtful. I'm thrilled it was Deidre and Drake for Days, but more than that, I think we should all be happy that NBC included Days in the first place. |

I don't get the bitching either. I thought it was a great ad for NBC, my love of Tina Fey/30 Rock aside. What more do people realistically expect they would show? Surely not a solo Days promo. It's the biggest advertising day of the year, they'd make more money from a Geiko ad than they ever would in the long run of showcasing Days in its current state. And seeing as the show is being still being panned by fans and critics - what could they even show in a promo that would lure people in? |
