EPISODE # 12000 SET TO AIR ON DECEMBER 26, 2012 Barring any unscheduled news preemptions, "Days of Our Lives" is set to air its milestone 12,000th episode on Wednesday, December 26, 2012. The airdate may be pushed back by as much as two weeks, however, based on what decision NBC Sports makes regarding the 2012 Summer Olympics, which could preempt from 0 to 10 episodes of "Days" from 7/30/12-8/10/12. SCHEDULED PREEMPTIONS FOR 2012: Fri. 6/8/12 French Open Tennis Semifinals Mon. 9/3/12 PGA Golf Deutsche Bank Finals Thu. 11/22/12 National Dog Show Fri. 11/23/12 NHL Hockey WIMBLEDON OFF NBC: NBC will not be preempting "Days" this year for the Wimbledon Tennis semifinals on Thursday, July 7 and Friday, July 8. NBC no longer has the rights to Wimbledon. OLYMPICS PREEMPTIONS UP IN THE AIR: Mon. 7/30/12-Fri. 8/10/12 The schedule has not yet been announced for the 2012 Summer Olympics. However, live events will be taking place in London when it is 1PM Eastern, so NBC may preempt some or all 10 days for live coverage. http://www.jason47.com |

Thanks! That's alot of preemtions. Especially the olympics ones. Hope that doesn't hurt the show.

The ratings for soaps are usually shit in the summer time anyways, I think everyone should expect that. I really couldn't care less about the pre emptions anyways because I know for myself personally, i'll have better things to do with my day then to sit in front of a t.v screen. I usually tune back in during the fall and catch up on the stories via youtube |

I hope they don't consider their "A" storyline to be Chad/Melanie/Gabi. Not interested. |

Sure hope we get some hype for the 12,000th episode. It would be cool to see some throwback stuff or even have Tom/Alice show up like they did by having Tom show up for Alice several Christmas episodes ago. |

No. They will probably have the whole of Salem hang ornaments on the Horton christmas tree. Those who aren't Hortons will be honorary Hortons. |

Thanks for the update. I just saw the NBC commercial for the Summer Olympics during the Super Bowl and it had me wondering about Days pre-emptions. I know you will post any info as soon as you get it. |

I'm glad that Days is going to make it to 12,000. :) It's also great that Dee and Drake are back for 12,000th episode when Days aired the 11,000 episode two days before their final episode in 2009. |

So if NBC airs the Olympics and pre-empts DAYS, then the 12,000 episode will be pushed back into 2013? |

That, or just a few news preemptions even. There could be a preemption around Election Day if the results are close. If NBC airs just 3 days of Olympics preemptions and 1 news preemption, that would push episode # 12000 to the first episode of 2013, on 1/2/13. The earliest "Days" can airs its 12,000th episode is 12/26. 4 additional preemptions (in addition to the 4 already known about) will push #12000 into 2013. Edited by Jason47, Feb 6 2012, 04:14 PM.

I hope NBC pre-empts DAYS during the Olympics. Sometimes it's nice to have a little break from the show. I always liked when they did that during Wimbledon. |
