I agree...but to be fair it aired after the "Post-Game" show...but still that had 95 million viewers. Most early predictors said it would be in the 25 to 30 million range. |

Loved last season, even though my pick didn't win. Premiere was solid. Can't wait for tonight. |

I really like the Voice during auditions. I don't like it when it gets down to the competition, but I dig the beginning. |

Between 'Big Bang Theory' and 'The Voice,' Idol just may lose it's status as America's #1 show.

Um, so I kind of got distracted, but did anybody on The Voice mention the fact that the Jamar Rogers guy used to be on American Idol. He was the friend who tried out with Danny Gokey (geeky guy with glasses who kept talking about his dead wife). I mean... I don't expect them to mention it, but I'm just curious. I was surprised to hear about his past. |

So many good contestants tonight! The 60(?) year old who chose Adam was fabulous! I have a girl crush on Lindsey. She is the best contestant so far, IMO. Her song choice was unexpected, but I loved her rendition. Dez, the guy who sang "I Want It That Way", was good, albeit nasally, but I loved him anyway for picking that song (Backstreet Boys FTW!). Too bad none of the judges picked him. Angie was fantastic! I'm surprised only Cee Lo chose her. I thought that Hoja chick looked like Katy Perry (or at least her hair was similar, lol) at first. It's funny that she sang "Teenage Dream". I was surprised that Jermaine picked Blake instead of Cee Lo. His performance was kind of over-the-top, but I enjoyed it. Angel -- her voice is gorgeous. I didn't agree with Adam at all when he said that the beginning was shaky (or whatever it was that he said). Eh... I guess I could see where he was coming from, but then again, I love those raspy, slightly rough voices. Blake is my favorite judge. He is just so damn cute and snarky (but without being arrogant *cough Adam cough*). |

I love Blake too! I was a big fan of his before watching 'The Voice', and now I like him even more. He's hilarious! Some of the people we saw tonight could still make it. Last season, they had a second chance episode and some of them tried out again. From what I remember they did that because all of the auditions were done and they didn't all have a complete team yet. |

The Voice was the #1 show last night - looks like NBC finally has a major hit on their hands again...they won Monday night with The Voice/Smash. |

^^Not surprised it's doing well this season. It went above and beyond expectations last year. LOVED Gwen and LOVED Angel. The Line wasn't that good to me. I mean... they're good, but they're not awesome. Really confused as to how Kim was able to move forward. She was horrible IMO. Lindsey's rendition of "Say Aahh" was good. Reminded me of Dia's unique renditions last year. Did Juliet from premiere night remind anyone else of a mix between Pauley Perette and Emma Stone?! I love the comradery between the judges. The joking and the playful jabs at each other. SOOOO fun to watch!! |

This is the first time I have been watching The Voice and I enjoyed it. I have to disagree a bit with others about having people with prior experience. I use the example of Tony Lucca from the premiere night. I have had two friends in love with him since the days he was on Mickey Mouse Club. So I have actually heard a lot of his stuff because he has been recording and releasing music on his own. The guy has talent, but he doesn't fit into the boy band image that was big once he finished on MMC and then isn't about all the auto tuned stuff we have today. He is actually a lot like Kris Allen from AI. Because he doesn't fit an image a lot of record companies will pass on him. If anything a show like this will get this guy some attention and allow him to be the musician he wants to be, then I am all for it. Even AI has gotten to be more about casting and not necessarily about finding the best talent. Every season we have the classic images of "the diva", "the rocker", "the cute guy", "the hot girl", etc. I like this show being about the singer and not just if they look the part. I also totally called it with my friends that someone had to tell Christina that Tony was with her on MMC. I'm not surprised that she didn't recognize him. But when he said his name you would think someone would got "Wait that name sounds familiar?" Especially if supposedly Britney Spears who you were friends with talked about her crush on him. They tried to play it off that she all of a sudden remembered, but my found a clip online where a producer is telling her that he was on MMC with her. Overall it is a good show. Definitely better than X-Factor. X-Factor was just too overproduced and I actually got headaches watching it. Not going to say better than AI, but it is different. I just don't connect anymore with people on Idol and can't really say why. I am going to still and try to watch AI this season, but The Voice will also be on my watch list. |

Early favorite is definitely Lindsey. She's the one that stood out to me the most. Angel was interesting too. They have a solid group of contestants already. Looks like it's going to be a tough season. |

It's weird how much they're talking about how hot these people are, because I thought the premise was that the voice was all that mattered. That's a little strange. Like if you get an ugly one it's not as great? I mean...realistically yeah, you don't want an ugly one. But that's not the point of the show. I didn't fault Christina for not recognizing someone she knew for a couple years when she was a little kid, and he was older. That Lindsay chick reminds me of Skylar Grey. Didn't get the big deal about the guy at the end but I think I'm harder on Black singers because there are so many in the market already so I need to see something extra special to get past comparisons. I'm digging this show overall. I hope this year's contestants are able to come off it and sell well, there are some I really like (though I don't know anyone's name). I also hope it's compact like last year, blazing through to a winner. I wish Stacey Francis from X-Factor had come here instead. Then her "professional" background wouldn't have been an issue. |

I'm sorry. I just don't understand how Christina could NOT remember who Tony was. I know some people aren't good with remembering names and/or faces, but they were in a group together. They worked together. They shared the stage together. How do you NOT remember someone who was part of such a big point in your life?! Not to mention, Tony was there for 2 years prior to Christina coming on board, so I'm sure she probably looked up to him (and others in the group) as mentors of sorts. I'm sorry. There's just no convincing me that she had good reason for not remembering him, unless it was some sort of brain fart on her part. Cubsgirl, do you have a link to that video? I don't know that there IS a video, but I totally believe it. Video editing can be quite deceitful. It might've LOOKED like Christina gasped after he gestured to her, when in all reality, there might've been minutes in between. And speaking from a production standpoint, the coaches wear earpieces so the producers can tell them of any lighting/sound/video issues, changes, scheduling, breaks, etc. So it's not that unbelievable that a producer (for the sake of show) clued Christina in about Tony. I just don't think they should've had to. |

I know you won't be convinced, but at that age a couple years difference is a huge deal. I didn't watch so I don't know how much they were actually performing together, but I doubt they hung out very much offstage, not enough to form a bond that would trigger a memory all these years later. JMHO, of course. |
