So is this dude married to Madison?

I would like to see him and Kate possibly get together. Especially if it pisses off Madison.

Thanks. Sounds like he hits the ground running, and all those ties to people in Salem should prove interesting.

The fact that he refers to the 4 remaining daytime soaps as lifeboats is also very intriguing.

It seems to me as though DAYS is trying its absolute best to stay alive when soaps around it have died so quickly recently.

I postively CANNOT WAIT for him to start airing...I think Ian is going to be one of those "once in a while" kind of characters...plus anyone that is going to come in and cause trouble is fine by me...this show is in SERIOUS need of some SERIOUS evil/badass shit!

Hopefully with a new badass in town, Stefano/Victor will fucking shape up and start looking for their balls again and stop playing house 24/7.

Also interesting on his talk about other soaps and their behind-the-scenes antics...even though he didn't directly name any other soaps, I am believing more and more that the behind the scenes at AMC was a bloody nightmare for the actors.

I really like knowing that things are so positive and "down to business" behind the scenes at DAYS...it sounds like they have a good vibe back there and are known for that.

I just loved when he said "chew on it."

Thanks so much Ellie.

I adore Ian. He is so individual and always delivers the goods in his quiet, cool on the surface but roiling underneath way.

I could not agree more that Salem is in dire need of a real villain. Victor/Steffy are toothless and their threats no longer even cause a tremble. EJ has been turned from a plotting, manipulative monk into a vajazzled lightweight. How I wish we could see these three characters return. In the meantime, Ian can fill the gap.

I certainly think Salem can use a good shake up so I'm totally ready for Ian to arrive. That and what a fun interview. I really hope some of that 'fun' translates to onscreen.

It was AMC. He mentioned it in a earlier article about his DOOL role:

With only 4 daytime soaps still in production, Buchanan acknowledges that the work environment has changed. "When there were 12 shows, it seemed very competitive," he notes. "You got on a show and people would be sort of threatened. But on DAYS, I feel everybody wants the show to succeed. Everybody is excited and very supportive. It suits me better. I always felt very much a part of B&B, but AMC (where he played Greg) was a little odd for me. It was a harder nut for me to crack. Ultimately, I was only there for a year." One bright spot during this Pine Valley stint was working with current DAYS James Scott (ex Ethan AMC). "He is a very good actor," praises Buchanan.

Sounds good, though it does seem like he might be in a box with the same characters. I hope he's not the disappointment that Madison has been, and maybe he can breathe some much-needed life into Bradison.

Thanks for posting!
