Abe Wins the Election -- Or Does He? On election day, Jen pushes Abe to fight even dirtier. "One of the values of a story like this is that you have two characters, Abe and Jennifer, who are somewhat pristine in the way they're presented," voices James Reynolds. "But the truth of the matter is that we all operate frequently in the gray area. That's just the way things are. It doesn't make us bad or good. That's where Abe and Jennifer find themselves." With the race tight, Jen's focus is on securing Abe's win. She informs Abe that a poll worker will skew the vote to ensure his victory. The idea is tempting, until Abe overhears Lexie telling a reporter how much faith she has in her upstanding hubby. Abe decides to stay clean, in light of the fact that they deliberately fed EJ the wrong debate questions. "It was difficult for Abe to make the decision to compromise the debate," Reynolds points out. "Abe made that choice, because in his mind, he was only thwarting EJ, who has pretty much been one step ahead through the entire campaign. The bigger issue for Abe, however, is that he wasn't upfront with Lexie about it." At the DiMera camp, EJ and Nicole are confident of his win. When the final votes are counted, Abe is named the victor. EJ is baffled by the news. Stefano blasts EJ and Nicole for bungling the campaign. EJ is stung by his father's criticism, while Nicole promptly gets on the phone and begins making calls. Across town, Abe basks in his victory, until Lexie discovers that her husband tinkered with the debate questions. "It's very hard for Lexie to deal with," previews Reynolds. When Abe takes his place at the podium to give his victory speech, Lexie refuses to join him. EJ arrives with Nicole and offers Abe his congratulations. Nicole reveals the results are in doubt because of possible ballot-tampering. Lexie overhears and jumps to the conclusion that Abe has rigged the election. Outraged, she rushes off. Abe tries to follow, but is interrupted by Roman, who says that his pal is needed at the station for questioning. Article scan courtesy of Forbidden Love. |

I think the biggest tidbit in this article is that Roman is still alive. Where has that man been? At the post box with Don Craig? Getting Lexie back to her DiMera roots is the most interesting thing about this. YAWN. |

HAHA! Abe & Bitchifer are Fucked, Fucked, FUCKED! Love it!! :cheer: :cheer: Bout time that sanctimonious, self-serving, self-entitled, self- righteous- little bitch gets knocked off her high horse!! Lexie going home- The sooner the better. Always thought Lexie was a stuck-up cunt w/ Abe but being a Dimera, hopefully will rectify this. |

An interesting conundrum: did Jennifer go ahead and tell the poll worker to skew the vote anyway, in spite of Abe refusing to resort to that tactic? Or did Nicole set up Abe to win dishonestly? Or is the result legit, but all the rumor and innuendo are clouding the issue? We're getting Abe's POV a lot in this story--how uncomfortable/guilty he feels about deceiving Lexie and how worried he is about the repercussions to his marriage. But what about Jennifer's POV? How is she reconciling what she's doing with her Horton values and reputation? I'll be disappointed if Abe is the only one who suffers consequences as a result of this dirty election. At least this is making Abe somewhat interesting. He can do bad things. It's about time! I'm hoping Lexie's reaction has more to do with the fact that she just can't believe Abe would ever lie to her, rather than his actions. Because this bitch has done far worse than rigging ballot votes. |

I like this. I knew something had to be up because of the spoiler about Lexie thinking of divorcing Abe. I really hope they make this mostly about how she worked hard to become the person Abe was...honest, decent, and morally sound. If not, as Drew noted, she's done far worse so it makes her reaction a bit to extreme. If they focus on how Lexie feels like she doesn't know her husband and how she feels cheated because she worked so hard to change and then he goes and does stuff like this, it makes it a bit more understandable. |

My guess is that the DiMera campaign somehow framed Abe for tampering with ballots. Somehow, Abe would be found guilty of doing just that. Ultimately, my guess is, EJ will be appointed, by default. |

EJ will win. The ballot stuffing frame job will cost him the campaign. I like this because there's a scandal here that could come out down the road. It's another secret to add to the pile. There needed to be something to be exposed later which would get EJ ousted as Mayor and this will be part of it. |

I can totally understand enjoying the Drama of this kind of story. But what baffles me, and has for a while now is how many are "ROOTING" for the Bad guy.. And Rooting for the demise of the "Good guys/gals" Its like watching Batman, and everyone is rooting for The Joker, and the destruction of Gotham City.. Just cuz its cool. I enjoy the Drama of good stories that revolve around Good verses evil.. But Ive never rooted for The "Good" to fail, It goes against whats right.. I dunno .. I dont get it.. Maybe its because they have humanized the Dimera's too much But it just seems thjat when they do something wrong its no big deal, But if anyone else crosses any kind of line in order to defeat them (Something that has been done for decades in soaps) But because some viewers lose site of the fact that its not so much the act, but the intent behind the act that makes the person Good or Bad.. But instead They are the devil incarnate.. and deserving of the worst fate....LOL Ive always enjoyed Villians because they have a Role to play.. And that Role is to create Drama so that The Good Guy can defeat them. |
