Taking something boring like Abe giving EJ the wrong debate questions and making a big issue out of it because they aren't imaginative enough to come up with anything more interesting -- typical MarDar.

Who cares if Abe rigged the election? I certainly don't. And I don't see why Lexie would. Since when is she the moral police?
It's not that Lexie has room to judge (she doesn't after all the crap she's done). I think, however, Lexie would be stunned that "honest Abe" would do such a thing. That's why she could question his integrity and even her marriage. If someone shocks you enough, and completely throws you a curveball to the point of where it seems like Dr. Jeckyll/Mr. Hyde, that could have a lasting impact.
Not only that, but he turned it around on her and made her feel bad for even thinking he could cheat. Although I don't think it's really enough to get divorced over, but at this point, Lexie should divorce him if he drinks the last glass of juice. It's for the best.

Don't get up. So how are you? What happened, eh? Let me guess, Stefano told you that you could fly,and you jumped off a building. HeHe It's funny right, no I'm sorry Bad EJ, I should'nt be that cruel!

I was going to be ticked off if Abe won, it seems like he does'nt in the end.

Gone, But Not Forgotten!

Looking foward to seeing how this plays out next week. I like the lying and cheating scandal surrounding it, although MARDAR took so long to make it dramatic and interesting. Abe going down for playing dirty, even if he's set up by Team EJ... the fallout will good, I can see EJ being knocked off his pedestal, but hoping Jennifer is first.

I can totally understand enjoying the Drama of this kind of story. But what baffles me, and has for a while now is how many are "ROOTING" for the Bad guy.. And Rooting for the demise of the "Good guys/gals"

Its like watching Batman, and everyone is rooting for The Joker, and the destruction of Gotham City.. Just cuz its cool.

I enjoy the Drama of good stories that revolve around Good verses evil.. But Ive never rooted for The "Good" to fail, It goes against whats right.. I dunno .. I dont get it.. Maybe its because they have humanized the Dimera's too much But it just seems thjat when they do something wrong its no big deal, But if anyone else crosses any kind of line in order to defeat them (Something that has been done for decades in soaps) But because some viewers lose site of the fact that its not so much the act, but the intent behind the act that makes the person Good or Bad.. But instead They are the devil incarnate.. and deserving of the worst fate....LOL

Ive always enjoyed Villians because they have a Role to play.. And that Role is to create Drama so that The Good Guy can defeat them.
I feel like in this case it's because there aren't any stakes, just good guys and bad guys. It's not like the role of mayor is something that Days has ever really utilized, nor are business stories their forte so it really doesn't matter who wins because it will just be a title.

Whether it's Abe or EJ, one will waltz through the Salem PD every once in a while and cause a tiny bit of drama or assurance.

What this story needed were reasons for both men to NEED to win for a greater reason than pride or family. They both needed a reason to compete.

IMO many people root for the bad guys to win because there is more drama and excitement surrounding the villains. Although EJ is hardly a villain under the MarDar pen, he does have a troublesome past.

To me the way soaps are constructed in the present time there are few true heroes. Take Rafe for example. He is supposed to be a law and order upstanding guy. But he had no qualms about illegally faking adoption papers for a baby he thought to belonedg to EJ. He covered up for an attempted murder, even going so far as to throw away his relationship with his own sister to make sure the deed was secret. Again the victim was EJ. Some would say EJ deserved all of it. Perhaps that is true. But if policeman/FBI agents were the arbiters of justice this country would be in a sorry state. Breaking the law is breaking the law even if the victim is a criminal. Bo was willing to bend/break the rules to get Hope off when she was prosecuted for assault. Rotox has indeed broken the law to help Doc. Marlena herself attacked Stefano and tried to kill him, but only succeeded in putting him into a coma. Now Jennifer and Abe have joined the ranks of indulging in criminal acts because of ole EJ. This makes the good guys not so good and not much better than the villains. That is why I can root for the villains so easily.

Finally this a daytime drama not the 2012 version of Pollyanna. If I want sucrose I can watch Haley Mills. I want good drama on my soap. Part of the reason Days has been so lackluster is because there has been very little drama and lots of happy, happy goodness. It comes off as fake for the most part and becomes deadly dull without true angst. The stakes in the stories have to be high enough to matter but in most of them they just don't. Sami's marriage is at stake but this tale has limped along and is just now getting a little drama in it.

Whether you love, hate or love to hate the villains they are the ones on a soap who keep things popping. Stefano, EJ and Victor have been neutered. They are quite simply impotent. But now we have Ian and hopefully he will be able add some much needed excitement. The cane is a good start. Viva la villains!

What "evil" Rafe has done is laughably lame compared to the raping, murdering, cloning, proxy-rapings, and other doings of Lord Prince of Glitterdick Darkness. But I agree on the Bradys, now. Hope and Bo just recently committed several felonies in this fucktastic Alice's-secrets story, including breaking and entering and theft of federally and everything-else-protected information. They high-five each other. John breaks out of house arrest and Marlena giggles like a girl while Abe says go home. Roman fires Rafe for telling Carrie something and lets his own and his family' crimes and blatant unethical acts go. Congratulates Hobo for jobs well done.

Stefano has never paid for his crimes in the legal sense that I can remember. He always disappears first and no one remembers when he returns. EJ seems to have to punish himself, so someone needs to hide the firearms and kitchen knives when Nicole dumps him for dryhumpbeastfuck.

Why I root for the bad guys? They're a damn sight more entertaining.

I totally get what you saying but for me, the character of Jennifer was destroyed when she dated two guys at once. But I hate the idea of Abe being corrupted! He was always the straight guy when Bo/Roman/John/Hope wanted to play cowboy cop. Abe is one of only characters that gets to wear a white hat. Bo and Hope are more grey in morality.

Also I thought of this immedately:

Really Abe? That would be one awkward Thanksgiving dnner....

This will be even better if Lexie divorces Abe and goes back to the DiMera fold.
