She does seem like she can be snotty, but I LOVE her. I don't see anything wrong with what she said. There isn't a nice way to say it, but they are just deluding her wall. Who wants to get 1000 "have a good days" every single day. She's a busy lady and maybe she actually wants to hear from fans that have something important to say or maybe she wants to have time to answer actual questions without skimming through 1000 worthless comments for them. I would feel the same way as her, but I wouldn't know how to say it so I probably wouldn't have said anything. I don't blame her though. Who wants to skim through those comments? She uses her Facebook on a daily basis so it has to get tiring seeing the same shit every day. I mean its lose/lose for her. She has to say something about it, but she can't without coming off as a bitch. If she doesn't say anything and just starts deleting people who do it then that's even worse. I think she took the right path. When you have a Facebook or Twitter you CAN control how people act toward you on the internet. She isn't fighting with detractors or negative people she just doesn't want her page deluded with the same comments over and over. Who would? Its easier to control with Facebook because anyone can't just write on your things. Twitter is a little more difficult to control, but yeah. People saying you shouldn't have a Facebook if you don't want to see those comments obviously don't understand how it works. |

Her co-author has a site where many of her fans just chat every day, with lots of "how are we all doing today" type of threads. Some of those fans began starting those threads on her site in the past few days, which is what her post is referring to. Her FB cross-posts to twitter, so most people who saw the tweet had no idea of the context. I can understand her not wanting her FB wall to turn into a general chat room (as her co-authors is). People ask her legitimate questions there, which she often answers. |

But are they really sincere well wishes and howyado's? Like, seriously... I work with a lot of these habitual "have a great day!" types and they are annoying. (they're also the same people that have to end every stinking phone call to their spouse with an emotionless "love you") If you ever take the time respond to one of these folks with anything more then a "ok, thanks" they get all confused as to what you're talking to them about because their "Have a great day" is actually SO insincere it's become an unconscious hiccup in their brain. So I say, thanx Deidre, for keeping' it real. (and saying public figures should happily deal with every annoyance is rediculous. If I can block people from posting 50 "happy birthday's" for yet another year then why can't actors on soap operas have the same rights? We're all just people.) Edit:::I just saw the post above explaining the chat room thing. So, yea, that makes sense too. Haha! Edited by tiki_girl, Feb 17 2012, 03:15 PM.

If you believe the well wishes are insincere why not just ignore them? Why risk sounding like an arrogant diva (whether you are one or aren't) rather than just glossing right past them and going on about your day? Public figures - be they actors, politicians, athletes, etc - are scrutinized more closely than us 'regular' folks. Fair or not, it's the reality. And this is just an example of where it seems to me she'd have been much better off saying nothing at all. |

Its her wall to do what she wishes to do with it. If you don't like the way she conducts business then you can easily not friend her or subscribe to her on Facebook. It isn't something anyone HAS to see. She shouldn't have to weed through 1000s of those comments just to answer 2 or 3 questions from fans that have actual questions, comments, or concerns. At this point in her career does Deidre Hall really need to watch herself? I mean her comment wasn't that bad, she isn't going to lose fans over it. I don't see anyone commenting on there saying she's a bitch and I don't see her friends dropping like flies. She's fine. |

I haven't seen this posted anywhere...
Interesting. They don't usually keep the names the same, but I hope it is Andrew Donovan. That could only be a good thing. |

Different strokes for different folks I guess. When I see her posting things like that I actually have more respect for her. And yes, public figures are more scrutinized but only by those who want to scrutinize them. We are all just people, no one better then the next or the rest. |

Enough already. The cast is too bloated right nowas it is.Some trimming needs to be done on the current cast.Get rid of characters not being used much, like Kayla |

Sorry Ellie. I was going to PM you to ask about posting it, but it wasn't like its a rumor of someone coming or going or any storylines. I assumed a casting call is safe because its very easy to disprove. |

Mary Beth Evans is not having any effect on the cast size, money, or air time. Having 100 recurring people is fine. Its contract players that you have to worry about. I don't mind having Kayla's pop in every couple weeks because she is just having other characters play off her and their storylines are advancing, plus you get to see a DAYS legend. I don't see the problem with that. They do have too many contract characters, but getting rid of Kayla would not help or solve anything. |

So many opinions here, I love it. Seriously, have you guys seen her wall at times? It's the same messages every day, by the same people. And nothing more than "Have a good day." or "How is your day?". At least add a question just for kicks. I know it turns me off from going to her site and it clutters it. She obviously wants to respond to people, but not have to read at times 30 messages saying the same thing. It also means those who actually wanna see her responses to real questions have to go through all those messages. And it gets annoying. It's almost as annoying as birthday messages on FB. Okay, I haven't talked to you since kindergarten (ie: 20 years), but by all means, wish me a happy birthday, add to the 90 messages I sift through. I don't mean it to sound bitchy, but I feel like anyone who really wishes me a happy birthday, has my number and calls me or sends a text. Frankly, I like DH with a little snappy in her 'tude, she's more fun. Have an aunt who's the same way. It's not bitchy or mean, she just likes to get down to it and get on with her day. Makes life easier for EVERYBODY. Edited by The Room Stops, Feb 17 2012, 03:44 PM.

No worries at all - as I said, fine to post - just wanted to make sure everyone knows Nelson isn't 100% (isn't 50%?) reliable. |
