So many opinions here, I love it.

Seriously, have you guys seen her wall at times? It's the same messages every day, by the same people. And nothing more than "Have a good day." or "How is your day?". At least add a question just for kicks. I know it turns me off from going to her site and it clutters it. She obviously wants to respond to people, but not have to read at times 30 messages saying the same thing. It also means those who actually wanna see her responses to real questions have to go through all those messages. And it gets annoying.

It's almost as annoying as birthday messages on FB. Okay, I haven't talked to you since kindergarten (ie: 20 years), but by all means, wish me a happy birthday, add to the 90 messages I sift through. I don't mean it to sound bitchy, but I feel like anyone who really wishes me a happy birthday, has my number and calls me or sends a text.

Frankly, I like DH with a little snappy in her 'tude, she's more fun. Have an aunt who's the same way. It's not bitchy or mean, she just likes to get down to it and get on with her day. Makes life easier for EVERYBODY.
I get what you are saying, and I understand, but in the case of a celebrity, I would think she would be happy and feel flattered that her fans want to wish her a good day, etc. I think everyone knows she can't respond to everyone, and I doubt they really expect her to, but asking people not to do that, is to me, a little rude and harsh on her part. If you are a celebrity and put your FB page out there, then you know that's going to happen. I am sure she's not the only one on Days in that position. As long as fans aren't being rude or nasty, really, what's the harm?

There's no harm, but she does deserve to choose the terms of her fan page. She wants to keep it uncluttered, she can ask. People can choose not to follow.

The reason she created a fanpage (she used to have a regular account) in the first place, was that people were sending her "FB gifts", sometimes hundreds a day, spamming her with all kinds of things. It cluttered her wall, her email and inbox. She made it clear she wanted to keep the fan page less cluttered than that one became, and as a tool for people to ask her real questions and to post updates, share a part of her life when she has time.

And (and this is just me wondering personally) why post the same thing every day? It's one thing if you actually say something, but I'm assuming, from reading her post, that this is to the same 30 ladies who post "have a good day" or "how r you?" pretty much every single day (I'm not kidding, it is). It's just - why? I guess I just get it because I found it seriously annoying too, and thus I'm a little hopeful that people might get the point and just use it for what it was meant as. Which was not a chat room.

I'm a little sick of Facebook, is it obvious?

I find it annoying, too, and I hope they do stop. Idk how I'd have preferred she handle it (because I do think t could have been done better), but if it makes even a quarter of the insanity stop, I'll take it. She used to respond to people pretty frequently, and now if she does it's impossible to find.

I don't think Deidre's request was inappropriate at all. I find those repetitive have a good day comments beyond annoying. DH does a great job of interacting with her fans and trying to answer their questions. The needy fans need to find another outlet. I find them annoying as hell.

Well, if they save money by going dark, they should go dark for 2 months or so, so they can be 6 weeks in advance like the other soaps!

They were on set today, so being dark for a week makes some sense since Monday is the 20th.

And I agree with Lene, they need to stop taping 3 months in advance! ugh.

They have a schedule of 3 weeks on and 1 week off every month, except for the major holiday times then it is 2 weeks. It's been in effect like this for a few years now (since 2009 I think?) with the time b/w taping and airing of episodes increasingly getting larger..lol

Next week is President's Day, Mardi Gras and Ash Wednesday. If they have to pick a week in February to be closed, this is a good one.

I wish they would stop taping so far out cause when actors tweet stuff, I forget about it till it comes up again in spoilers and then Im like oh yeah, I remember them saying that or I like what they tweet and then pissy cause it will not air for 3 months

They need to start taping 3-4 weeks ahead like they used to. 6 weeks, I could understand, but 3 months? That's even more than some Primetime shows.

Word!

She did. Now you have to scroll down like four pages to find one in the midst of randomness. There should be an "All posts and comments made by _____" button for fanpages on FB.

And it could always have been handled better.

LOL! What an eye rolling tweet. Boo-hoo Casey, you're not exempt from the rules. You went over the allotted parking time so you get what you deserve, just like the rest of us would. Cry me a river.

I kind of feel like it shouldn't be that big a deal. She was polite and really it is pretty tiresome to see 100s of people go all "Waltons" on everyone - "How are you?" "How are YOU?", "'Night JohnBoy".

Similar to a message board like this, I kind of think if you don't really have anything to say, don't say anything. It just clutters up the airspace.

On the other hand, I'm sure it's exciting for her fans to feel in touch with her and sometimes you just want to keep in touch but can't think of anything brilliant to start the conversation.

It just makes me think of Ralph Wiggum when he was trying to make conversation with his heart's desire (Lisa)..."So.....you like?....stuff?" Deidre has kind of called them on their lameness.

Does she think she can control the internet and how people post? :eyeroll: Glad James doesnt have twitter or a facebook for this very reason. People come off looking bitchy. Diedra doesnt want to deal with fans like that? easy solution. Dont go on the net.
Exactly. I've stopped reading Deidre's Facebook page because of the way she comes off in her requests to her fans. I'm sorry, but it is a "Fan" page, and people have a right to say what they want to. You can't control what your fans want to say, and when you start making requests like this it's almost like you have to follow a set of rules to be her fan. I don't agree with the way she goes about this at all. If she doesn't like reading all the comments, she should really think about finding another way to communicate with her fans. Her page is a place for her fans to post, and she shouldn't be making these sort of requests. It has "DIVA" written all over it.
