Not much to add (other than watching passive/aggressive Abby "confiding" in Carrie about her mystery man while we watch an uncomfortable Austin's reactions made me giddy).

Today's episode was directed by Albert Alarr & written by Janet Iachobuzio.

Marybeth looked gorgeous today.

I wish they keep Austin and Carrie together.

Not feeling any chemistry between Kate and Ian.

I don't think the writing is to blame for Sami's dialogue. That's something Sami would say! Girl is delusional and always has been.
This is how I felt. I thought the writing was perfect. That is something Sami would always say. When would Sami ever blame herself for something that Carrie was involved in? That sounded like the real Sami to me.
ITA! THIS is the dialogue that I remember for Sami. This is who she is...blame everyone else for my problems but ME. In the end one of the few to call her on her crap and still find a way to make her feel better about herself is Lucas...but even he at one point told her, 'Sami, you are living in delusionville!"

Whether you love Bradison or hate them, there is no denying the awesome that was Sarah/Eric working today's lines!! I knew Sarah cries with the best of them but Eric surprised me. When he started crying I wanted to jump up and hug him knowing it was all fake. He is very talented, more so then I even though. Those two really gave it their all. I love when actors TRUELY get into their story. I remember when Johnny went missing. I felt everyone was so flat (sorry but it's my honest opinion) today for me is what I LOVE to see. Actors who make the story seem so real. CONGRATS to both of them on the awesome job.

Sarah Brown showing why she's way out of Martsolf's class. He tried to cry. It just couldn't happen. He only does angry well and if that becomes his only emotion once again I won't be able to watch his scenes. I don't know who I want Madison with, but she's too good for Brady. I want to see her play off Ian Buchanan more. They have been great together. Ian and Kate were hot and creepy together too. I need to see Madison interacting with more of the cast, other than just Brady. Sarah Brown can act circles around him and it was painfully obvious today.
I won't deny SJB outshined EM but he did a pretty good job of looking like he was deeply hurt, imo.

I don't like Ian and those scenes with LK which I expected to ooze sex fell flat to me.

I wish they would test Madison around canvas but I just don't like Sarah playing a victim role. She works so much better as the underdog and vixen. EM works fine I think with actresses more understated like Nadia but Brady is on year 3 of boring me.

The Jack/Abby scenes were odd to me.

EM was better today than he's ever been with SJB but that's not saying much. I find him boring as an actor too.

The show has given me no reason to care about Bradison other than Brady thinking he loves her. There have been no poignant shared moments, nothing.

I LOVED IB as Ian. What a sweevil bastard he is. His scenes with Kate were on fire. I think I'm going to love these two toying with one another. I did love their chemistry in the episode. Throw Stefano in the mix....badass Stefano, not teddybear Nono, and I'm in!

I enjoyed the Bradison scenes today because they were more dramatic than what they've ever had. I thought Eric was quite good and I haven't been able to say that in a long time.

Kate and Ian definitely had some chem going on for me. I was kind of surprised by it. Ian is going to be a really interesting addition to the show.

So Sami told Rafe that if it had been anybody else but Carrie who he kissed, she could handle it, and that she knew he was the kind of person who would not kiss someone if he didn't have feelings for them. I'm betting those words are going to be tossed right back in her face when Rafe finds out about her and EJ.

Honestly, I really like Eric Martsolf. Certainly a huge step up from Kyle Lowder. He's actually the one I thought came off hammy and often super gay, although he toned it down as the years wen ton. I think Martsolf is one of the better recasts in recent years.

Bradison bored me. I'm just not feeling the deep connection between these characters. Tears or no tears I wasn't pulled in in the slightest.

On the other hand the final Safe scene with the kiss was excellent. I felt the emotional tug between Rafe and Sami. I like the tone in Galen's voice and the way he spoke to her. I felt sad for both of them and especially love the look on Sami's face as Rafe walked away. Great acting and directing.

Abby playing with Austin was such poetic justice! I enjoyed watching him squirm. Carrie was a little much in her concern for Abby by sitting down and expecting her to spill all right there with Abby's dad and Austin hovering, but I get the whole purpose of the scene.

I'm still deciding on Ian and Kate. He looks a little caricature to me to take seriously. I thought the comment of Stefano being too old for Kate amusing when Ian himself looks old.

I didn't like the comment Sami made about Carrie taking Austin because it's such a jump in reality. I know Sami always sees things skewed, but I do think the dialogue should support the real history since it's been so many years since those man stealing days. They need to refresh the viewers minds with the truth . . . if they want to present a delusional Sami than at least have someone such as Lucas right there to call her on her BS otherwise it muddles things.

I liked seeing all the kids, tall or otherwise, together at the pub decorating cards for Valentines Day. I like that the holidays are actually shown again and it was cute having the kids be part of that.

Lighting guys: Please filter some warm tones into the rooms/town square, etc. Everyone looks too blue and cold. Mainly... it drives me nuts everytime I see Jack squinting from the harsh 10,000watt "daylight" bulbs they've got blazing on set, unless MA's eyes are just more sensitive to it then others or the poor guy needs to wear glasses* to prevent the squint.
(*and seriously, how adorable would Matt Ashford be wearing some buddy holly specs, awww.)

Does anyone else see how cold and unaffected the pairing of Carrie and Austin is .I think Carrie is so cold and she and Austin do not seem to have any sex appeal with anyone. Neither of these two ooze any sex appeal and Carrie especially , I do not see anything in her scenes with Rafe or Austin ,She just seems to read words by rote and no feeling anywhere ,Never have been a fan of her OH SO COOL Act ,just cold fish all way around tome . Maybe if I was a man I would get her appeal but have never seen it in my years of watching Days . At least Sammie makes you feel something and not bland and cold like Carrie ,Love her or hate her ,Sammie makes you feel and care one way or other ,They could get rid of Carrie tomorrow and no one would really care as shown by how many times she has been on and off the show over the years .When she is off no one cares except producers who keep bringing her back for short stretch ,which is all even they can stand of her

I'd care and I don't find her "cold."

It was an above average show today. Rafe and Sami today were amazing you could feel the hurt and see the caring for each other and the special connection they have, they are the best couple in many years to come along on DAYS and DAYS should embrace them! The way Sami kissed Rafe today I didn’t get the feeling she wants her marriage to be over! And the kids were a nice touch, they love Rafe so much and he loves them! AAAH they made Valentine cards for him. These scenes tugged at my heart today!

I agree with you….I have never been a Austin and Carrie fan, but this girl needs some acting lessons, she doesn’t have an emotional bone in her body, her acting is reading the scripts with no feelings, you can’t tell if she is happy or sad or mad, and Austin is just a bad. They really are meant for each other! And she certainly doesn’t have any sex appeal with any of the men on DAYS! And she is only getting worse with time, I don't remember her being this boring a few years ago! She certainly isn't improving with age and neither is Austin!

I disagree.

When I think "cold," I think Emily Thorne on Revenge. Nadia Bjorlin as Chloe. Those two actresses are about as monotone and unaffected as you can get.

Christie Clark, although not as good this run as she's been in the past, is quite warm and likable as Carrie, in my opinion. I also find her infinitely more attractive than Ali/Sami, who I no longer "love to hate," I just want her off the show because she's eaten it alive.
