Um...WHO DRESSED JENNIFER IN THAT MESS? Your shoes do NOT have to match your hair, but they should coordinate with the rest of you!
I find myself asking that many days with what they put Carrie in. I mean she isn't 50

LA's show was pre=empted by news coverage of a burning house, I'll have to wait until SOAP's airing to see it. :(

Seriously. LMAO @ Austin. This also may be the least perceptive Carrie has ever been in her whole life.

Stefano and EJ are such babies. Let's blame Nicole for us having a bad reputation. I don't really understand EJ's reluctance to use Stefano's ways. It's not like his ways were at all legitimate, lol.

Um, Stefano. You can't call Nicole a martini swilling bimbo. Bimbo? Eh, whatever. But I need to see her with a martini.

See...Lexie does have loud shoes. So she's apparently walking on her toes the rest of the time. And Lexie is the fastest phone caller I've ever seen in my life.

That was definitely a flubbed line, but it didn't really bother me. I agree with Matt. It reminds me of the 80s when they screwed up all the time, and just went with it. The flubs I have a problem with are the ones that make the scenes or content not make sense. However, JM has definitely been getting worse about flubbing lines lately.

BAH! Abby's look at Austin while Carrie is hugging her is AWESOME.

I really like how RJ is playing this, but I think Lexie is a moron. And why on earth would Abe call her up there when he knows she's mad? And seriously Jennifer...stop scowling. You're on camera.

That last line was a small taste of how I would like Ejole. LOL. Doesn't that just figure? I'll probably love them all next week, and then Friday will come. I kid. If anything I'll go back and forth between extreme hate, apathy, like, and love. Probably all in one episode.

Those Abigail/Carrie/Austin scenes were good. I loved Carrie giving the mystery guy shit, not knowing it's Austin.

Renee Jones did great in her reaction to finding out what Abe did. I thought the Lexie chants were a bit over the top though.

Loved the ending with Nicole returning to EJ and assuring him it's not over yet.

I actually LOVED Joe Mascolo's flubbed line because it was SO old-school soap opera to me where they did EVERYTHING in one take because it was too expensive to edit video tape together and they only did retakes for a catastrophic failure like an utter breakdown in actors/dialog or part of the set falling in. That's one reason classic soaps so often used experienced talent with theater backgrounds because they were so used to having to act on the fly in such situations. Notice how easily Lauren Koslow stepped in, picked up the line, and carried on without even blinking? Those are 2 PROFESSIONAL actors. You throw a couple of pretty hair/fitness models in there and they go blank on a line and it's all "can we start over? I forgot my line and I look foolish." Personally, I wish all soaps were live again just for those moments of adreneline.

As far as the rest of the episode goes, when one of the major highlights is Patrick Muldoon playing Austin's panicked guilt and anxious reactions to Abby's story over Carrie's shoulder, there are issues. IMO, Muldoon NAILED it today and did some major acting while having very little dialog.

As far as this silly mayoral election story goes, there was not ONE SINGLE PART of this Salem election day that was either believeable or realistic. Clearly, no one in charge of this show has ever actually voted or watched any sort of election coverage on the news. And Lexie really needs to come down off of her judgmental cross. Next time she slams Abe for stealing debate questions, he should go "I have 4 words for you, woman -- Woman. Of. The. Year. Now sit the fuck down." IMO, any time a woman conspires to have an implanted brain chip switched on to turn her bestfriend into her evil alternate personality, she looses any and all future right to critcize anyone's bad behavior.

And what the hell was Jennifer wearing? A gray dress with DARK hose and tan shoes? Really? And I thought Kate looked fine until I saw those gawdawful patterned stockings she was wearing with her suit. We won't even mention Nicole's hair which made it look like she auditioning for the role of Sandy in an upcoming road company of "Grease."

Jack: "She's talking to Carrie"
Jennifer: "Carrie? Carrie who? Carrie Reed?"
Me: "No, bitch. Carrie Nation. How many fucking Carries do you really know on a first name basis?"

Someone wake me when Salem has a new mayor who's NOT a regular character and we can put this stupid storyline to rest.

Today's episode was directed by Karen Wilkins and written by Carolyn Culliton (who can only do so much with what she's given to work with).
Summed up alot of my feelings perfectly. I'm still not sure it was a flub but I don't mind it because, like you said, it used to happen all the time. JM and LK picked it up perfectly and I enjoy seeing actors do that. In fact, sometimes some pretty great stuff can be created out of a flubbed line whether it's an ad lib or maybe a reaction from the other actor.

The election stuff was horribly unrealistic (Is Jennifer seriously meeting with a pollster who she's talking about a shady dealing with in the Pub?) but it's been handled so shoddy since the beginning that it's no surprise. I did like the suspense buildup of who the winner was and all the intrigue buildup over what Nicole may be up to and whether or not Abe or Jennifer may do something. I like how they had Abe go MIA for a period of time, had Will out there doing God knows what, and even had Stefano act a little odd at times to leave the possibility open he may have done something. It really left you wondering if something more was going on. LOVED the final scene of Nicole hinting to EJ that something was about to go down. RJ played Lexie's reaction to Abe's lie well but I really hope they don't go to overboard on her anger here after all she's done in the past. The Lexie chants were too much but I loved the end with her being hesitant to join Abe all while Stefano, Kate, Nicole, and EJ watch and Nicole hints of something about to happen. Good ending.

I do wish we got to see other Salemites in the Square supporting Abe or watching on TV. They didn't really make this election feel like the event it should've been.

The Kate/Nicole scene was awesome, especially the end of it. Loved that scene. They complimented each other but the underlying hatred was still there. More of these two together, please!

The Abigail/Austin/Carrie stuff was great. Classic soap stuff. PM was great, especially since he didn't really have much to say. Very good scenes. KM really played these off well too.

The J&J stuff confuses me. They referred to her as Jennifer Deveraux. Everyone is sort of assuming they are together. No mention is being made of Jennifer being torn over Daniel or Jack. This story is still one big mess. Ugh.

Probably because he's so damn bored. (I know, I was!) He needs to be in more scenes with Deidre, LOL! He lights up light a christmas tree in scenes with her!

I just could not get into Thursday's show. I'm certain I missed about 1/3 of it because I was called into another room. Usually that disappoints me. Not yesterday.

So we now know that Jennifer did not ok ballot stuffing.
Wasn't impressed with RJ at all.
Really disliked the Abby/Carrie/Austin scenes

The one scene I did like was Jennifer's reaction when Jack said Abby was having a heart-to-heart with Carrie.

Much prefers sweevil, snarky EJ over Father Figure Fucktard Eejiot.

I enjoyed Thursday's show for the most part. But good God - who the hell dresses Missy Reeves? The dress was fine - the stockings and shoes? Someone needs to be shot.

I enjoyed the Nicole/Kate scene until the last line - they were trying a little too hard to be cute and it fell flat. And again...what is it with putting all these ladies in butt ugly dark or patterned stockings??

EJ needs to take a half gallon jug of Dawn detergent to his hair.

Stefano's flubbed line didn't bother me - I enjoyed watching Joe and Lauren Koslow flawlessly carry on with the scene.

As much as I hate that Stefano has become so soft I did appreciate Kate stepping in to defend EJ while Stefano was going off the rails about being let down again.

Abby/Austin/Carrie = great guilty fun! That last look over Carrie's shoulder from Mansi to Muldoon was both chilling and hilarious. And PM has been doing a great job with this material. I feel so uncomfortable with him.

It was nice to see Jack - even if in a supportive role. But where were the rest of the Salemites that have seemed to have a vested interest in getting Abe reelected? No Roman, Jarlena, Bope? Even Rafe or someone? Carrie and Austin were at HTS but seemed oblivious to any of the election stuff going on.

I liked Lexie's reaction...not over the top so far. Good for RJ. And for the record - while they seem to make a mess of the wardrobe for just about every other woman on this show it seems to me that no matter what RJ always looks great. Her wardrobe suits her - hair and makeup are flawless. Is she just lucky or does she put her foot down when they start screwing around with her look?

I think wardrobe is trying to go with a whole "Anthropologie" look for Jennifer, which is fine (much better then the crimped hair, camel-toe tight pink pants days of 2001). The problem with the current styling for her is that she isn't bubbly and fun enough to carry off the look. People who are depressed and angry most of the time usually never dress "quirky".

^^Great post, SM. I agree. Those shoes on MR looked like some weird attempt to make orthopedic high heels, And the color was like baby puke. She looks terrible, like a dried up school marm. There has to be some reason they are making her look so awful.

I really enjoyed KM and PD. Both were very good.

Until the legs scene, I was thinking that, for once, Kate didn't look so hideous. Nice suit and blouse, sort of tasteful pearls, blue shit seemed darker--but when she and Nicole walked away from the camera, I actually laughed out loud at Kate's legs in those things and found them rather spindly compared to Nicole's drop-dead gorgeous ones.

Speaking of whom, I really love the way AZ will ad lib a flirty move with JS and get a genuine smile in response.

Well, I know that nude shoes are supposed to be the big fashion trend at the moment, but I believe they only work with a nude leg or with neutral hose. IMO, darker hose ONLY work with a darker shoe. I don't think any woman EVER wants the brightest & most distinct part of her outfit being her feet (besides, such contrasting color tones/shades completely ruin the line of the leg).

Damn. That sounded all kinds of frilly homo.

I was dreading another day devoted to Abby using Carrie to play Austin, but turned out to be the best part of the show for me because of the facial expressions passing between PM and KM. :P It wasn't redundant like I feared it would be and for the first time I actually got a kick out of Austin.

Wardrobe has never been anything to rave about on Days so I'm no longer surprised when I see unflattering attire forced on these beautiful women. I would think some over eager design interns could offer some fresh perspective and flair all for the price of experience. Meng should look check out some portfolios.

The absence of Salem's familiar faces eager to see the results from the election left the whole thing lacking. John and Roman should have been there supporting their long time friend at the very least - John especially since Abe was in John's corner when it could have cost Abe the election early on.

Haha, DaysForever! Totally agree. Way to be discreet!

Nothing much to say about this episode, except it was nice to see Jennifer and Jack in the same area, and nice to see Jennifer NOT yelling at Jack about something.
