On the eve of John and Hope’s flight to Alamainia, Rafe announces that none of his contacts can get Bo and Marlena into the country. John and Hope will have to travel alone to get their divorce. “If John and Hope don’t put an end to the marriage, there is a good chance that, at some point, Stefano will use it against them,” points out Drake Hogestyn. “So they make the decision to go alone.” While John and Hope await their flight, John is clearly uneasy. “A couple of times John’s knee is tapping away and Hope has to stop it,” previews Hogestyn. “As time goes on, John is getting more uneasy.” The tension mounts when the flight is delayed. “There is no reasonable explanation for why the flight is delayed,” explains Hogestyn. “The weather is clear. There are no equipment problems with the jet. It’s almost like things are happening to heighten their anxiety.” Finally, the plane begins boarding. As Hope gets up, she accidentally trips and falls into John’s arms, unaware that someone is watching them. “They’re looking into each other’s eyes,” shares Hogestyn. “It’s almost like, ‘Whoa, here we go.’ What a way to start a trip!” Thanks to FL |

I thought that was the stupidest part of the article . . . and then I read this:
I am sorry, show, but nothing you can do will ever convince me John and Hope want each other. However, thanks for posting! |

It's laughably stupid. John and Marlena just survived through John's recovery and he has been nothing but head over heels and gushy over his precious wife...and I am supposed to believe that he gets tinglly over Hope? WTF, writers! |

Who wants to bet the person watching is Billie. This show is sinking to new lows. There is no chemistry with John and Hope. Just like Rinna and Reckell have no chemistry together. It's clear now the headwriters need to go. Edited by AlisonLou, Feb 15 2012, 11:01 PM.

Are you frickin kidding me? What a joke. Falling in his arms and a look being exchanged? :shame: MarDar are so predictable in their amateurish/pathetic stunts. Every couple gets their turn. |

This is beyond ridiculous. Not much more to say. The marriage plot line was stupid to begin with, but for these writers to expect us to believe that there are actually any feelings between John and Hope is just...UGH. I can tolerate a lot from this show, but I'm not sure I can watch this without gagging. |

It makes John look like an asshole. Giving Hope "a look"? A woman you were absolutely NEVER attracted to in the past? And I'm supposed to root for your character....why? By the way, John, your wife is home dealing with some pretty deep shit involving your kids and grandkids. If you can tear yourself away from your rewritten "feelings", you might want to give her a call. Idiot. |

While I do think this is stupid, my impression was not that they actually show any feelings for each other, but that they're suddenly in an awkward stance where to anyone else it would look bad. |
