Susan Lucci to Star in Marc Cherry's Soapy ABC Pilot The former All My Children star has joined the cast of the network's Marc Cherry drama pilot Devious Maids, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Devious, an adaptation of the Mexican format, revolves around four maids (Ana Ortiz, Judy Reyes, Roselyn Sanchez and Dania Ramirez) with ambition and dreams of their own while they work for the rich and famous in Beverly Hills. Lucci will co-star as Genevieve Delacourt, the wealthy but borderline crazy employer of one of the maids. Cherry will write and executive produce alongside Sabrina Wind, Paul Presburger, David Lonner, Larry Shuman, Michael Garcia and John Mass. Paul McGuigan will direct the pilot for the ABC Studios production, which will film in Los Angeles. Lucci played the iconic character of Erica Kane on ABC's recently departed All My Children from 1970-2011. She famously was nominated for the lead actress in a drama Daytime Emmy 18 times before winning in 1999. Should Devious be picked up to series, the role would mark Lucci's first primetime scripted series gig. The actress also appeared on Season 7 of the network's Dancing With the Stars. All My Children was canceled last year to make room for less expensive programming on the network, with Lucci criticizing then-ABC daytime chief Brian Frons' decision to pull the plug on the long-running soap. On Devious, Lucci joins former General Hospital star Brianna Brown, as well as Rebecca Wisocky, Angelique Cabral and Edy Ganem. SOURCE |

Yes. She portrayed a woman named Hillary/Shelia who appeared in the last season storyline with Bobby Ewing. She kidnapped Bobby's wife, April and kidnapped ER on their honeymoon in Paris. |

Yes, but I think the writer meant it would be her first time as a series regular in Primetime. She's appearing on Army Wives also so I can't imagine that was just forgotten about either. No matter what, good for her and I too hope this gets picked up! I can see some of her former AMC co-stars landing guest roles on the show, which sounds like it could actually be a winner on its own merits. Most importantly though, I can see Marc Cherry actually writing for her, since he's admittedly a long-time fan. I just hope we get the chance to see it. :) |

I'm pretty sure it's going to be a pilot we will see. I bet ABC picks it up, unless the pilot really really sucks. ABC seems very high on developing some primetime soaps. Scruples also seems to be getting some buzz. And Mistresses. It's too bad ABC mishandled Dirty, Sexy, Money. Wasn't it getting around 6 million viewers? Were the demos that horrible? I can't really remember. And I'm still kinda pissed ABC passed on their Footballer Wive$ remake. |
