ABC cancels 'Missing,' 'Pan Am,' 'The River'
Add a few more TV dramas to the fire!
ABC has cancelled Missing, Pan Am and The River. That’s in addition to GCB, which broke earlier.
No surprises here. Pan Am got off to a solid start at least on Sunday nights, but eventually crashed in the ratings. Missing and The River never really found an audience.
ABC cancels 'GCB'
No amount of praying could help the ladies at GCB.
ABC has axed the Texas-set comedy, starring Kristin Chenoweth and Leslie Bibb, after just one season.
Some of the network’s other freshman hour-longs fared better — particularly the dramas. Earlier this week, Revenge and Once Upon a Time were picked up for second seasons, and today, Shonda Rhimes’ Scandal was also given a second season.
Actor Mark Delkin, who plays Blake, took to Twitter to express his disappointment. “Wow. I feel stunned & sad. We have had an amazing ride and you, the #GCB fans and #Blicket shippers, have been just incredible. THANK YOU all for your beautiful love and loyalty,” he tweeted.

||SO bummed about GCB-- that show, I thought, was one of the funniest shows going. Just stinks.....|

||I liked GCB too, but sometimes the episodes got a little repetitive. Maybe it would have worked better as a half-hour show. I'm still disappointed it got the ax.|

||GCB's cancellation shocks me. I thought it was pretty popular.|

Well screw ABC for GCB. That was my Housewives replacement. I found it absolutely hilarious.
Not shocking about The River. What a mess.

||Depressed about GCB. It was funny and I thought the ratings were good....so confused.|

My work all watches it too...this baffles me. I guess ABC just wants to suck.

||Not really surprised,I enjoyed Pan Am at first but eventually lost interest.|

I thought GCB would get renewed.
I kinda liked Missing.
But the River was pure crap.

||Ah, my GF loved GCB, so I'm kind of sad for her !|

||I stopped watching GCB because it got boring for me. But from a ratings point of view, there is no way it should have got cancelled over Scandal or Body of Proof. It did the same to better than those shows out of a weeker lead-in (DH versus GA and DWTS respectively).|

||I LOVED Pan Am, IMO it got better and better with each episode. :frownie: Not surprised though.|

It was. I seriously see so much love for this show all over the internet. It just started in Norway, people LOVE it. But the crazy Christians that boycotted it and campaigned against it really did win. Considering their effort, I'm surprised their ratings were as good as they were. They weren't spectacular, but the North American Bible Belt's a powerful thing. And they had a sucky as hell timeslot. 10 PM on a Sunday... no thanks. If there was more sex, I might get it, but I don't.
We're doing a campaign at www.savegcb.com just to let ABC know that we ARE pissed about their decision. It probably won't change anything, but what's the harm in trying? If you'd like to go sign it, please go to savegcb.com.
There's something wrong with a TV world where Two and A Half Men is renewed for a TENTH season, The Bachelor is on number 17 and yet quality actors in a quality show like GCB don't get renewed after ten episodes.
Also, ABC, why the fuck do you hate Kristin Chenoweth? Seriously, first you took Pushing Daisies... now GCB.
