I agree with Leisha. Porte has been really great here lately and that is saying a lot since TPTB never did the proper thing by introducing him slowly and letting us start to care (or not) for his character. He's the son of a legacy character and to just execute this okay here is your son, Paul, in a month he will go crazy and terrorize some citizens and then the next month we will wipe the slate clean of him was pretty crummy, lazy, stupid [insert more negative adjectives here if you like].

I'm not one to jump on the I hate Bell, Hogan, Hammer Bandwagon but utterly stupid moves like this makes me consider an invite.

I almost figured it from the beginning and I knew he wouldn't be here that long. No, villain other then Victor is going to last on a show if they write a story where the villain goes after a fan favorite. Had Ricky been legit and not gone after Phyllis we should know that they are not going to have him bring a fan favorite down.

So what if he's going after Phyllis. Hell this is the best story she's had in quite awhile. The sex quad last year tanked and so did that shitty father story she had. The Daisy battles don't work either cause IZ is too weak of an actress to hang with MS.

:sarcasm: If that's the case, then what is Adam? :soapbox: Just because he's redeemed all of a sudden, what was he when he 1st started? (EVIL) :censored:

Moe, all the more reason to move Peter's Slick Rick character for some of us he out shined the so call mighty favorites & when that happens either one or two things occur (scale'em back or get rid of all together) it was plenty room for him to be "David Kimble" esque Y&R hasn't had such a type in ages ( I don't need no dang on evil character to have layers of "GREY" since when that became the staple for a dramatic Villain/Villainess? I see that shit all the time "Shades of Gray" "A subtle of Grayness" make the character intriguing....MAN PLEASE! What the fuck is that? A Evil Character is just EVIL give them a hint of weakness here & there for the element of surprise OK! However let the Villain actions be leavened don't throw super hero shit my way have'em redeem..Redeem for what?shoot they Psychopathic so let'em be that.. One of my favorite Villains guys was Billy Clyde Tuggle talk about sadistic & unwavering he didn't need no shades of gray he was just Pure Unadulterated EVIL!

That whole shades of grey thing is such BS...sometimes. It's an excuse used to make some characters seem more interesting than what they are.

Adam was not evil when he first started. When Adam first started he was just a man in love with Heather and hated by his brother and sister because they blamed him and Hope for their parents not getting back together for the 10th time and because Nick at the time was having father son problems once again. Adam was more or less when first started a mix between Victor and Hope or at least he was written that way. I loved the first Adam and Heather love story and I loved how when Adam first started how he was only looking for his fathers approval as well as his brother and sisters. Adam didn't become what he was till they started to write him poorly much like what they did Sharon.

I'm going to defend the "shade of grey" expression. You don't want anyone who is purely evil (ie evil Eli from OLTL) or purely saint (i.e. the bug). Its not realistic. People have some good and some evil. Adding layers usually invloves explaining their past and helps us to relate with the character. However, there is a difference between "redeeming" a character "adding grey" or "layers". I agree, not all characters should be redeemed, but almost all should have layers.

And amen to what Periott said. The daddy storyline and the std quad sucked, so why not leave this one going for a bit longer? It has been one of YR better storylines.

Thank You! Thought I stood alone on such`ah thing, granted I understand "layers' just fine it should be weaved into every character yea but how come suddenly Villain characters are observe with this particular color palette of "Grey" to describe the essence of their role & how it's portrayed?.. :hmmph: Norman Bates didn't need a color description his same kind of crazy carried over into the next Psycho movie cause they let him be what was intended.. A Physcotic LOON! :D

I get the "shades of grey" expression but it's hard to connect that with Y&R now. The writers don't know how to write "grey" characters. They have them doing full blown villainous acts and they have no idea how to flesh characters out.

All characters should have layers. Nobody wants to watch of Mary Sue, or Gary Stu, or Snidely Whiplash.

If I woke from a coma and Channing Tatum told me he was my husband... I'd Believe Him!

I like Ricky. He's evil and that's the way he should be. Doesn't mean I like him any less. He's interesting. But of course I saw this one coming and Phyllis will probably look all innocent and Ricky will die (or will he?) so Phyllis can get all the sympathy. I just hope that something good comes out of this. Like Phick breaking up.... Phyllis going nuts (back in character of you ask me) and going back to being a scheming bitch that no one likes.

Just read in the new Soap Opera Digest that Yvonne Zima has been fired, too. Wonder if Ricky and Daisy will go out in a blaze of glory?

I love Peter and he is pure evil in the role of Ricky. Every show needs a villian and hope he returns and isn't killed off. Now, Daisy is another story. Yvonne cannot act, is hard to look at and time for the evil bitch to go. I hope Ricky does her in once and for all.
