And how Sami and Lucas got their job matters since they work for the same man they claim Will should not work for. Where's the parental logic
of that, "we can work for him, you can't."
Maybe b/c they want better or different for their son. Maybe b/c they feel they can handle EJ, esp. if they work as a team (safety in numbers) but are worried Will won't. Maybe b/c they feel they have a slight cushion from direct contact with EJ, but fear that Will has his lackey/assistant/whatever is too close. They are just worried, and I don't blame them. One can call them hypocrites maybe, but I don't blame them for feeling this way.

I don't see Lucas and Sami both BOTH advising their son against working for EJ as an example of Lucas being "Sami 3rd father" as you say. What does this have to do with his telling Sami not to seek EJ out on her own? I see them as separate things. I wouldn't isolate Lucas, think his advice is any more egregious or contriv-y than Sami's, when Sami is giving the same kind of advice and has been a crappy parent.

They're not separate, it's the same story plot. Lucas and Sami were discussing Will. Lucas and Sami overheard Will and Sonny talking about working for EJ.

Why is Lucas ordering Sami not to go see EJ? Because of Will's job and this whole "blackmail" thing.

It's not separate, it's all the same plot with the same theme of Will's working for EJ being used as a Lucas & Sami relationship issue.

Saw the Ejami scenes and realized I had a goofy grin on my face at the end of them. They are back to their old 2007 dynamic. FINALLY.
Wait, you saw them? Where?

elci525, just wanted to say that I agree with Sparty about your posts. They're always so thoughtful and reasonable.
hey thanks!! ;) helps me feel not so lunatic-y -- well, I feel like that most of the time really, but you know. I appreciate it, six - thank you.

That Will is working for EJ is being used as a Lucas and Sami relationship issue is one thing - I agree. But I just don't see it the way you do. Do you find what Sami says contrived? She is giving the same kind of advice Lucas is. Lucas showing concern for his son and giving him this advice, is NOT the same thing as his cautioning Sami against seeing EJ on her own. Well, yes, they both involve EJ, and Lucas's distaste for EJ, but that is not enough to make it the "same" or to trash the one in favor of the other, or to conflate it all. It may all be part of the Will/EJ storyline, but I don't see the reasoning that would dismiss what Lucas says as valid parenting advice. Maybe it's in part motivated by the same reason he asks Sami not to see EJ alone (his dislike of EJ) but that is not all it is, for the reasons I have given. Why is it so absurd to think Lucas really wants to try to help Will, the same way Sami is, the same way Sonny is? This is part of what was going to make Ejill interesting, the vying for Will this way. Lucas's concerns are as valid as Sami's or Sonny's or Roman's or whoever else cares about Will. I am not so quick to dismiss it; I don't see this connection from A to Z.

Anyway, I think I have talked myself into a tail spin. so I think we are just at an impasse here. It's three or four words of dialogue - I suspect we have put more thought and energy into debating it than the writers did writing it.

Me too! I couldn't help it! :D It was so good to see that again and hope tptb keep it up. And cherry on top with EJ being noticeably flustered and quick to change the subject when Will brought up Sami. The bonus was EJ looking at Sami and the kids. I don't know who keeps pics of their ex (bc he could have easily gotten a pic with only the kiddies) on their desk but I'm all for EJ doing it.

Lucas was getting on my nerves talking to Sami like a child. It's annoying as hell. At least Sami didn't whimper like she has done in the past.

This all sounds great to me! I don't know a lot of men who keep pictures of their ex-wives(even the mothers of their children) framed sitting in their living rooms, especially when you have just lost your "so-called" love b/c you sexed it up with the ex-wife in the photo? But hey I will take it!!
Everything sounds good except for Lucas... they are so setting him up to be a loser in love again!!!
Are we sure this isn't GT writing since he is the one who said Lucas would ALWAYS be a loser in love?? lol
EJ is scared of Sami. He'd better keep her picture in his apartment. She even told him it had better be a picture with Allie in it. EJ will do what Sami says or she'll sodomize him and shoot him in the head again.

The conversation doesn't seem like a let down at all. Too bad we don't see more conversations like this on this show instead of people just jumping head first into relationships.
As the person who said it did, let me explain - I assumed from the hints BD gave that Lucas was going to be giving Sonny some kind of advice and Sonny might get to have a reaction to it, but instead it's more 'super put together guy who has it all figured out says exactly the right thing and isn't even slightly nervous when this guy's dad who he doesn't even know asks him about his romantic feelings.' I mean yea, Sonny is worldly and confident and blah blah blah, but does nothing rattle him? Even a little? Maybe the actor will add a little extra something, but that exchange was so generic that it could have taken place with Sonny and anybody.
Ok I see what you are saying. I guess until I see it hard to tell. Things tend to always play out differently for me on tv after reading recaps. I hope also that we at least see some nervousness in those scenes or hear hesitation in his voice.
Okay yes, he played it quite well with the nervousness and hesitation. There was even a nice nod to history when Lucas and Sonny had an exchange about how intimidating Victor could be, and Lucas threw in an anecdote about him having been his stepdad. And then there was wilson tucked into the stairwell together at HTS basically taking turns patting each other on the knee. And Will asking Sonny to the movies with an anxious tone like someone asking someone on a date

I also liked the way Will asking EJ about Sami broke the cool confidence EJ had. The ejami scenes didn't spark quite like 2007, but it's the closest we've gotten in awhile and was a welcome change from the usual Days stuff.

Please make Sami work for Will.
LOL, that would be something worth seeing. Well maybe if EJ thinks Will is devoted to EJ be might give him more responsibilities once Will get his degree. There is a saying keep your friends close but your enemies closer. This all could potentially lead up to Will being secretly bringing EJ down as none of the other Bradys have tried or got a chance to. The question is would EJ expect something like that and be prepared?

I was SO waiting for those pats to turn into rubs. I could tell they wanted to based on how awkward those touches were. Dang! Next time.

Wow, Sami won't trade Will's being safe from EJ for that cushy job she has?

Well, at least I know where she stands and how "afraid" she is for Will.

Just watched the clips.

I did like the way FS played the scenes with BD. In fact, I actually liked the way BD played the scenes with FS. I thought they were well done for what they were. It was a nice interaction for the storyline.

Okay, maybe I'm reading too much into it, or maybe Chandler just put more into the scene then the writers/directors intended, but it totally played like Will came to a big realization there at the end of his convo with EJ. Will has found EJ's achilles heel, his weakness and possibly a way to help turn the tables on him.............EJ's love for Sami. CM had Will looking like a cat that ate the canary on his exit from EJ's apartment. Also the kind of "ahhh" look he gives EJ as EJ gets all flustered at Will's simple question. Then a knowing smirk like "I got ya now". I don't know. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it will be interesting to see if this doesn't come into play more down the road.

I really want EJole back together, otherwise what is the point of her being pregnant! I hope something will come of Nicole's snooping, reignite the spark! hehe.
I love Lumi also but this time around isn't as dynamic as it was in the past. Its sort of like the 2 of them have been watered down and Lucas is made to be boring.

EJ to Sami: What? That we have this connection together, Samantha? Body and soul. It's forever. That's the truth of the matter.

Just goes to show that she is not worried about Will working for E.J. She is humoring Lucas. What is E.J. going to do to Will?

I think Sami knows that EJ wouldn't hurt Will and she's looking for an excuse to go see EJ.

This episode further proves how much Will wants to work for EJ, despite the blackmail and that he isn't receiving any perks. Will tells EJ that he's learned more from EJ than from Salem U :)

EJ knows Will is smart and is also a bit of a loose cannon, but EJ's trying to keep an eye on him. EJ recognizes Will's deceptive side and his capabilities to do whatever it takes to get what he wants.

Will is still attracted to power and wants to to try get on more of an even level playing field with EJ. That's why Will's going to love it when he finds out EJ is not Stefano's son. Will will probably threaten EJ with the info. I think both EJ and Will enjoy playing games with each other, but they both need each other too. So neither will ever do anything to truly bring the other down. It's more of a chess game and each one is trying to get the upper hand. I would love to see a continuos back & forth power struggle between EJILL!

I see similarities between EJ/Stefano and EJILL which makes EJILL so fun to watch!

Count me as one who has seen Sonny crushing on Will for months. From the coffee card scene, to when Will came out to Sonny, to when Sonny was seriously irritated with Will for pretending they were together - it's all added up to attraction, to Sonny feeling close enough to Will to share emotionally intimate moments and to call Will on his shit. Will? I think he may like Sonny deep down, but really he's taken advantage of Sonny's feelings for him by using Sonny as a sounding board and then run off to "hang out" with Neil off screen. If I were a friend of Sonny's, I'd tell him to find someone better than Will. And I've shipped Wilson for months.

As little as they give him to do, FS generally does a great job with making Sonny less of a busy body and a kill joy that the recaps sound like he might be. He puts inflections in his voice and uses his puppy dog eyes to great effect. That said, if Wilson is going to work - Sonny needs his own stories and he needs to make mistakes. Tomorrow sounds like the first scene in six months that is actually about Sonny's point of view. Maybe caring for Will could be his first big mistake. I think that could be true and Wilson still be endgame.

Also, at this point, Will is by no means ready for a relationship with Sonny. But that could be used to good effect in the story, if they are given one.
Find a notary and let me co-sign all of this. Sonny's crush has been evident for many months and evidently it has only grown since Will finally opened his closet door.

The only thing that puzzles me is why Sonny is so drawn to Will. Is he so lonely that he latched on to the only guy in town that talks to him and gives him some attention? Does that potent combination of Brady and Horton DNA of Will's cast a such an intoxicating spell that not even a Kiriakis could resist? Is Sonny blinded by his own hormones so much that he wants Will's virginity no matter what? Or does Sonny actually respect Will due to all of the time they have spent building their trust and friendship that Sonny sees something in Will that is worth pursuing? I honestly do not know the reason as there are so many things wrong with Will right now that any sensible person would run the other way instead of chasing after him. The two of them do seem mesmerized by the other so if Sonny is happy and wants to chase after Will, then I wish him luck. I'm all on board.

That being said, I would kill for the show to portray Sonny as going out with Will, fucking him and then dumping his ass before dawn. It would be such a character reset for Sonny that it would instantly become the most interesting thing about him. Since that won't happen, go, Sonny, and get your man!

I'm sorry, but if Nicole sleeps with Daniel, EJ will think of her as nothing but a slut. How does she not tell EJ she paying him back for sleeping with Sami. I know folks want Ejole, I did too, but with Eric Brady recasting, I'm just not sure.
