Quoting limited to 4 levels deep
I have always been a Lumi fan but I am sad to say that I 100% agree with your post. I am so sick of this constant merry go round of Sami and Rafe/EJ/Lucas triangles. Let Lucas get a story that does NOT revolve around these three and I will be a happy camper.
I have to say I agree too. Don't got me wrong. I would sooner ask someone to slowly and painfully tweeze my eyelashes off while someone else inflicts small paper cuts on all my fingers whilst in an oppressively hot room, suffering from an intractable itch in my left foot I cannot scratch, while being made to watch Twilight films on a never-ending loop, than to say I want to see Ejami.
 Of course while I am at the complete opposite and would insert "Lumi" or "Safe" or "EJaylor" in place of "EJami", by far the best post of the day right here. Well done. :hail:
Oh, I could substitute Safe and Ejaylor in there as well. But then at least maybe the room would have AC ;)

For what's it's worth, I enjoy reading your posts and hearing your thoughts as well, even if I so fundamentally disagree.

Where is the shaking hands smiley? Oh well, maybe this will do:

How awesome would it be if Sonny was the one setting EJ up for Stefano's murder because he's jealous of the influence that EJ has on Will... I like Sonny but they have got to do something to make him a little more edgy.

At this point, I could care less what happens to EJ, let alone Ejami. A year ago, I'd have been raising cain at the mere prospect of the idea of Ejami reuniting. But, after six years, I'm tired of the merrygoround turning. And I'm rather indifferent and don't care about either of them at all. Put them together and be done with it. Maybe then the show can veer into a new direction instead of pandering to the 'will they, won't they', or 'who will Sami choose' playbook. Hopefully, they'll finally shit in the pot and be done with it. I'm ready for Nicole, Eric, Brady, John, Marlena, Kristen, Hope, and a slew of other DAYS characters to be the major focal point.
I like the idea of MacKenzie Westmore coming on as Emily or rather the chick that played "Fancy". Galen G. did have chemistry with these two women, and there's no point in his story ending because he's not with Samanther. Dig into his past and let's find out more about him. He/Christie Clark had some nice chemistry that should have been explored more, too.
And my poor Lucas. Why in the hell did Corday even call him up? Just so he can stand around while Sami walks all over him. AGAIN. Stand back while she waffles between him and EJ. AGAIN. Bryan Datillo deserves better than this shit. They need to cast Autumn. OLTL and AMC had some good actresses that would probably work well with Bryan D., and Lucas will finally have an independent story that's not centered around whether Sami wants him or not.
So, when August rolls around, I want to see what kind of mayhem Kristen/Susan will bring for Doc/John, see Nicole/Eric (in the form of Greg V.) steam it up, throw Hope/Bo into a mystery, and see Rafe/Lucas move on the different women/better storyline.
So, putting EJ/Sami works for me. Because with them in one place together, it'll be so much easier for my FFWD.

He is Brian, a friend of Will's. He is portrayed by Brant Daugherty.

Hooded figure/mysterious person = Kristen!

Setting EJ up for the fall.
That would be awesome. Here's hoping the story wasn't that far along so TomSell could make this re-direct.

I totally understand how you feel. I really wish this show would stop focusing on Sami and her glittery vagina and focus more on Nicole and AZ.

If they do decide to put Ejami together that will be my cue to tune out of Days for good, though I'll still wish the best for AZ. Ej is my favorite male character, but I absolutely detest him and the beast as a pairing. I'd rather have him on less and be in scenes with talent like AZ then be on a lot and be stuck in scenes with AS and her constant nose flaring.

I really hope things turn around in the fall. I enjoy both JS and AZ as actors, but I can't enjoy them now, the writing is horrendously horrible. All I can hope is that when Eric comes back to town we will see Nicole bring fought over in the form of an Eric/Nicole/Ej triangle. I think that could be good and really juicy.

And ITA they need to have more balance on the show as a whole, hopefully we will see less of certain characters and more of the characters that have been so underused.

I'm wondering if Kristen "shot" Stefano and is framing EJ so she gets the family goods.. DiMera enterprises... etc..

I can see a Brady/Nicole/Eric triangle. I wonder if John and Marlena will be involved in that somehow?

The fact that Lucas turns to Marlena & John for help goes to show that Lucas isn't the right guy for Sami. Marlena & John are 2 of Sami's "enemies"! If I was Sami, I would be so pissed!

It's another example of Lucas trying to control Sami and be like a parent to her. No way would EJ ever turn to Marlena/John for help with Sami or Will! Plus EJ accepts Sami & Will for who they are, which includes their dark sides.

Go EJ, Sami, & Will! :cheer:
Ok, I gotta say something here. I don't know how these spoilers play out, so I am not exactly positive all the reasons Lucas seeks counsel from Marlena and John, exactly what he says, exactly how its set up. But the spoilers I just read seem indicate he goes to Marlena and John for help with Will - not sure about this parenting Sami business. Is it that his going to Jarlena evidences he doesn't trust Sami to protect their son? Well, I am not sure why he doesn't go to Sami - maybe it's that he thinks she doesn't have sufficient distance from EJ or something (and, you know, he wouldn't be wrong). Or maybe he sees that what he and Sami have been trying to do to sway Will hasn't been working. Maybe it's that he knows how important Marlena is (or maybe was, now that EJ has taken the place of Will's other mentors) to Will, that she might have better insight as someone who might know adult Will better than Lucas does (since he hasn't been around, as so many are wont to point out). Or maybe it's also that she is a psychiatrist. And maybe John is just there and so gives his two cents or offers to lend his support (or maybe this is all just s/line contrivance to set up the John taking over DE thing). Who knows. Am I thrilled Lucas goes to Marlena and John? No - I wasn't elated when I read that. I would much rather Lucas not have to ask for advice so much - but I will cut him some slack b/c at least he is looking out for his son, and knows he, unfortunately, is no expert on Will 1) b/c he has been away; and 2) b/c he might perceive Will as acting in away that seems out of character (and, again in fairness, cocky/dark Will came on kinda quickly and suddenly).

Please tell me why Lucas, as FATHER to Will, would be happy about his son hanging around EJ so much? Why on this planet would he be ok with that? Why wouldn't he think his son, for all the cocky confidence Will may start to exude, just might be in over his head, at least more than his new-found ego will let him believe? It's not to do so much with an "un-acceptance" of character flaws as it does with parental concern. Will is not a baby, but he is also not some adult who has it all figured out either. He is still young and impressionable and likely to make mistakes too huge to dig himself out of. It is one thing for Lucas to accept Will's darker sides, whatever that means. But Will isn't cluing him in; all Lucas sees is his son suddenly so involved with a guy who, for all intents and purposes, is bad news, and sort of Lucas's sworn enemy. If Lucas thought Will were scheming to take EJ down, I dunno - I think he might be concerned, but also sort of into it too. I would LOVE to see some Will and Lucas treachery. This would be another way to bring back scheming Lumi, or at least scheming Lucas, which is an element of the Lumi/Lumily dynamic I so crave to see again. But b/c I want it, I doubt it will happen.

I agree Sami might not be happy to learn Lucas went to Marlena and John for anything, especially in the petulant state of childhood indignation and entitlement her character currently seems to be floundering in. Might create more Lumi angst than, frankly, I want to see. But I am not sure how that is any more a betrayal than EJ blackmailing Sami's son, holding any kind of a threat over Will's head, or any of the other numerous wrongs EJ has committed to endanger Sami's children. But all that makes him perfect for Sami, I guess. Ah the sexy forbidden-ess and effed-upness of it all - I can hardly stand it.
Lucas is not happy that his son is working with Ej though, he expressed to him a few times that he thinks that Ej is bad news. It is Will that seems to enjoy working with Ej, regardless how his parents feel about it,so it is not like they have a huge say on what goes on between them. I doubt that Lucas is aware that Will has turned the tables on him, but that is besides the point.

The bottom line is that Will made it clear that he enjoys working for Ej, his parents does not have a say cause quite frankly is none of their business. Not to say that they should not be concerned but if Will is adamant about working with Ej, they best bet is to walk away cause they are not changing his mind on working with Ej, they are just wasting their time.

I just disagree that as a parent, and non-EJ fan, Lucas would just turn his back and walk away and say, yeah ok whatever. It's their business, because Will is Lucas and Sami's son, whether he is 9 or 19. Was Sami out of line confronting EJ about Will? Would anyone expect her to just accept it b/c she can't change Will's mind? Should Lucas let his son make his own mistakes? Maybe - I guess that is really the only way a young person learns. But when those mistakes involve something DiMera - I think Lucas has enough first-hand experience to know the danger his son might be in. Is it arrogant of Lucas to think might know better? I just think he is being a dad, and he knows what a DiMera association can mean. And also, I would be very disappointed if Lucas just took Will's assurances at face value. I think Will is operating on a very healthy dose of youthful hubris/I-have-the-world-figured-out-ness. It's been spoiled that Lucas reacts strongly when he hears his son sound/behave so cockily. I think he has reason to worry that Will's being so pleased and satisfied with himself might land him in trouble.

Will wants to work for EJ - great. He is not a slave, he is not being tortured to get the job done. Wonderful. But even with that being true, I just really don't think Lucas, or Sami, for that matter, would just leave things be. It's still their business even if Will screams at them that it's not, even if he screams from the mountain-tops how much he loves everything EJ. Why is it a waste of time to want to at least try to protect your son from a danger he might not realize even exists? Again, Will might think he knows what he is risking, but he doesn't really - and Lucas is just looking out for that blind spot, for that Achilles Hill. I think he is right to do so.
Just what are they going to do, convince him to quit his job? It is not like he is going to listen. Yes they have a right to be concerned as parents but they are not going to change his opinion about the whole matter. He is grown, he can make his own decisions, whether he is working for Ej or not.

Just because Will enjoys working for him doesn't mean that Lucas has to like or agree with Will's decision. I don't agree with everything my kid does, I tell him, let him make his own decisions that he regrets at times but sometimes I have to step in and make sure he doesn't get hurt. It's my job as a parent. Lucas is doing the same thing.....he's let Will do his own thing, he's told him he doesn't like it but hasn't done much to stop him from doing it because he's his own person....but the game is about to change when Lucas believes Will is now working for a man that is about to get arrested for killing someone. Regardless of who that person is, yeah, Stefano was no great man, Lucas still has to be concerned for his son as he should be.
Did I not say in my post that he had a right to be concerned? I believe I did. I am not faulting against that but that does not mean that Will should just quit for the sake of his parents. He is grown enough to make his own decisions.

^^I am not saying Lucas, Sami, Rafe, Roman, Marlena, John, Carrie, Sonny anyone will be SUCCESSFUL, necessarily, in trying to sway Will. And I am not sure what will come from Lucas's visit to Jarlena, other than John deciding to make a move for DiMera enterprises (which is again, why Lucas going to Marlena seems much more like a plot device to get that storyline rolling). But I don't blame Lucas for making the effort. I am responding to criticism about his "getting in the way," or something; why his trying to protect his son is putting him in the wrong or casting him as such a bad guy; why his wanting to make sure Will doesn't get in over his head evidence his inability to "accept" this new side of Will (when, again, it's that he is rightfully concerned); etc.

So what if Will can make his own decisions? Lucas (and Sami) are still his parents, and they are not going to just stand idly by while he walks complacently into what they perceive to be danger (again, they are not insane to think this).

So it is not a question of "just what are they going to do." That is irrelevant to me. Let Will make his own decisions. That's fine. I am still hoping something explosive and semi-tragic happens to force Will into a crisis of conscience as he sees what is really as stake when he aligns himself with EJ, just exactly what the consequences of these choices are. B/c right now it just seems like he is joy riding.

I have said several times that they have a right to be concerned, but that does not mean they dictate on what he wants to do. If he wants to work with Ej, then let him do it. Will does not seem unaware of the pain that Ej caused but yet he chooses to work with him.

Will is the one that is doing the blackmailing now anyway, so it looks like the tables turned.

Concerned? Fine. They are his parents that is expected, but not seeing why that means that Will should stop working for Ej based on how they feel about it. Unless we are misunderstanding each other, if not then I don't see why their concern matters that much when Will made it clear time and time again that he enjoys working with Ej.

I think we ARE majorly misunderstanding each other, b/c I never said Will should stop working for EJ b/c his parents say so. Or that they could possibly dictate what Will does or doesn't do. I mean, I don't know what this "protecting" will look like. Is it that Lucas traps Will in a room and says he can't come out until he quits?? Then maybe I can see your point. But all Lucas is doing at this point is seeking counsel from someone whose opinion he trusts (she was his former MIL...ah memories) and someone he knows Will at some point trusted.

I have my own reasons for thinking his working for EJ could be a bad idea, but that is beside the point. Did I say Will should quit working for EJ or DE because Lucas, Sami, Sonny, anyone says so? I don't think I did. I have agreed many times that he is a grown person now and can make his own choices.

Anyway, something got lost along the way. My initial post way, way upthread was in response to the implication that Lucas going to see Jarlena was him not "accepting" Will's baddie side. I think that is really the reason this all got started. I took offense at that, as a Lucas fan, and so I was defending my character's decision. Even in that defense, I admitted that his choice to see Jarlena would probably piss Sami off, and that this might cause problems between them -- but I still understand his reasons for doing it.

And so this idea the Lucas would just let Will associate with EJ without making an effort to do something about it - that is what I have been debating. Irrelevant to this the idea are the facts that Will blackmailed EJ first or enjoys working for him or can make his own choices, etc. etc. That is all true. Still doesn't change my opinion though .

EJ to Sami: What? That we have this connection together, Samantha? Body and soul. It's forever. That's the truth of the matter.

What I don't like is Lucas focusing all his energy badmouthing E.J., when Will is just as bad. He didn't have to go with E.J. when he bailed him out, he chose to.

Lucas has always know, at least since 07, that Will was troubled. He did nothing. Now E.J. is the bad guy? He needs to focus on his son, see Will for who he is and stop obsessing over Elvis.

And also stop excluding Sami, she is Will's mother.

^^ I am not saying Lucas, Sami, Rafe, Roman, Marlena, John, Carrie, Sonny anyone will be SUCCESSFUL, necessarily, in trying to sway Will. And I am not sure what will come from Lucas's visit to Jarlena, other than John deciding to make a move for DiMera enterprises (which is again, why Lucas going to Marlena seems much more like a plot device to get that storyline rolling). But I don't blame Lucas for making the effort. I am responding to criticism about his "getting in the way," or something; why his trying to protect his son is putting him in the wrong or casting him as such a bad guy; why his wanting to make sure Will doesn't get in over his head evidence his inability to "accept" this new side of Will (when, again, it's that he is rightfully concerned); how he is supposed just stand by and let Will be a cocky junior baddie or whatever Will is, etc.

Well that is where the big misunderstanding lie but yet you said that Lucas should make an effort to do something with his son association with Ej. I am confused at that point because Lucas has expressed his concern about Will working with him. I'm not sure what you Lucas to do? He told him that he does not like the idea of them working together, Will said that he likes to work with him, and Lucas left it alone. It would be pretty useless if Lumi kept on telling him "Ej is bad news." It would not mean much, considering Will is adamant.

EJ to Sami: What? That we have this connection together, Samantha? Body and soul. It's forever. That's the truth of the matter.

Lucas sounds like a fool going on and on about the DiMeras. He is working FOR the DiMeras!

In the words of Maury Povich, "EJ, you are NOT, the fatha!". Love the Massey, but it's effed up that Lucas gets little to no airtime with his son while EJ sees him every freakin' single day of the effin' week. Talk about EJ OVERKILL. He's every effin' where in every effin' story. And this is coming from someone who used to enjoy the character. Enough bud, share the space, dude. I'm already on my knees praying that Kristen's story isn't wrapped around him. It needs to be all about Doc/John, and no one else.
As for the spoilers, who needs Comedy Central when you have DAYS jacked up, crapped up, effed up storylines? They are a freakin' barrel of laughs. Nicole, my dearest my favoritist character, is sleazing it up with Docomite who can't keep his jimmies up for pay. I'm praying for you honey, that you get a good storyline when Tomlin/Whitesell. Hell, it can't be worse. But, then again, I thought that before. Zucker, you're my fave and I'm praying for you, I really am. You deserve betta than this UTTER STINKING SHIT.
And are we due for yet ANOTHER effin' 'magic' moment for EJ/Sami. Pleeez. If I had to get worked up or scream like a banshee to get all hot and bothered, I'd check in with my shrink. PRONTO. Once again, the same old mess. But, why do I have this feeling that the spoiled cliffhanger will be all about another BIG MOMENT. I already have my special title saved up for them if it happens. It'll ring like a bell, too, I betcha. If Sami's dangling over a cliff or something, I'll go shove the heifer off, and do everyone a favor. And since EJ's a stupid a-hole now, he can fall off, too.
Memo to Marlene McPherson & Darrell Thomas. THIS IS WHY YOU WERE FIRED!
*You don't have high-risk pregnant women sleeping with the doctor/playing bball.
*You don't throw other characters under the bus to prop up someone else's story.
*You don't waste legendary characters like Bo, Hope, Jack, John, Marlena, etc. for ridiculous plots
AGAIN, this is the reason you're gone!
I wouldn't say that I'm too optimistic about Tomlin/Whitesell. But, they have made a good move in bringing Eileen back and hopefully casting Greg Vaughan. So, I'll give them a chance to pull the big, yellow bus out of the ditch.

All we know Lucas is doing is that he goes to see John and Marlena. That is what I meant by "do something about it" - not the best wording in the world, I will give you that.

The Jarlena visit is all that's been spoiled - so that is all I am talking about. Unless these "set up" EJ spoilers are about Lucas squashing any tie between EJ and Will. But I don't think they are.

Well, he also is going to have this epic High Noon showdown with EJ too apparently, complete with a saloon and tumbleweeds maybe. But truthfully I am not really looking forward to that, and I am not sure what it will accomplish other than to drop more EJami hints (spare me), or just piss Sami off.

I would have loved to have seen Lucas and Sami scheme to force an end to Ejill, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen anywhere but in my fantasies. Oh well.

How awesome would it be if Sonny was the one setting EJ up for Stefano's murder because he's jealous of the influence that EJ has on Will... I like Sonny but they have got to do something to make him a little more edgy.
I think they need to make him flawed, but imo, it would be damaging if Sonny was rewritten to be psychotic enough to frame someone for murder, especially to protect someone he's only known for a year.
