Nelson Branco Soap Uncensored: Is Eileen Davidson back?

If Nelson's story is true, then I'm ticked off at Y&R writers for not willing to share ED with Days. They hardly utilize her and would rather she waste away on their show then have her get a real storyline. ED has stated before that she would love to do both shows but ultimately, i think she never wanted to give up Y&R for Days.

I still love ED most as Ashley but I'm excited for her to return to Days and get a meaty storyline and more screen time. She is a fantastic actress and really deserves more material to work with than what she is given on Y&R. I haven't watched Days in many, many years but I'm looking forward to getting back into it when ED returns. Y&R has been a bore anyway.

Also for the Days fans, it's actually a good thing she didn't get to do both shows because she probably would've burned out early and then wanted to just return to Y&R again full time. This way, there's a chance she will stay on Days for a longer run..

I've never seen a single episode with this character before, but she just looks more interesting than most of the cast. So I'll consider this good news.

I can't blame ED's return for MA's firing no matter how you slice it though. Even if they did decide they needed his paycheck for her (and I doubt that in the first place), it shouldn't have been his paycheck that was sacrificed while Shawn Christian remains. ED coming back and TPTB's seeming hatred for Ashford are separate entities.
I agree. I feel like they would've fired Matt Ashford whether they got Eileen back or not. He always seems to be the fall guy when the show goes south, regardless of the regime. Plus, like you said, there are a dozen people they could get rid of to make room for both Matt and Eileen. They both have a place on the show and there's no reason they can't both be featured at the same time.

It's not a Matt vs. Eileen thing. It's a "people we want to see" vs. "people we don't want to see" thing. Unfortunately, the show seems determined to hold onto the dead weight and instead cut people like Matt, Christie, etc. for reasons I can't even begin to fathom.

I agree. I don't think ED got MA or anyone else fired on the show. The new regime is simply taking DOOL in another direction - another reboot.

I don't understand why Y&R writers weren't willing to negotiate and let her do both shows.. They haven't used the character of Ashley right in years. They could have put her on recurring or something, let her pop in from time to time like they do the character of Tracy.
I'd love it if they'd just call up Brenda Epperson. She'll always be my Ashley.

Agreed! But wanted to add that not only do DAYS do this, so do other soaps like Y&R & GH! Its a shame, but is common in the Soap world!

I will stand by my statement that I don't buy they have a major storyline in place for her. I mean, they could, but we all know what Kristen is going to be relegated to. Either supporting EJ (or corrupting him again, which I would love), bitching at Marlena and John. What real storyline can they give her?
Kristin secretly returned to Salem, shot adoptive father Stefano in the back as retribution for leaving her in the harem all those years and raising Elvis as his own, drugged him so that he would be presumed dead, snatched the body, and is nursing/tormenting him back to health on the outskirts of town while plotting a return to Salem as Susan Banks Crumb.

Having learned that mean, mean, mean Stefano is dead, "Susan" returns to claim her son, helping Elvis to regain his life. Kristin continues to torment Stefano during his rehabilitation. Marlena befriends "Susan" and stumbles upon the recovering Stefano, only to then also be held captive along with her arch nemesis.

"Susan" despises Nicole and, upon learning that Elvis is the baby daddy, plots to steal that baby and get what Stefano and the real Susan stole from her. Meanwhile, the rather dim folks of Salem take Susan under their wing and have no idea what is going on for the better part of 2013 (roughly 20 Salem Days).

Elvis eventually unravels the scheme, rescues Stefano, and reunites with Nicole as they hunt down the woman who stole the baby.

I suspect ED has already filmed a scene or two, which will be dropped into the show as part of the pre-Olympic tease and the fall season re-launch.

This sounds good! But can the Nicole hate be temporary...Nicole needs someone that likes her (other then EJ.) I would like a mutual respect among thieves sort of friendship between Nicole and Kristen/Susan.

After today's episode, it's clear that there is a plan to move Wilson forward
Eh, I wouldn't be so sure about that.

Today's episode was written and taped before the regime change.
Are you sure about this? TomSell should have been there at this point. If not, we should be reaching that day any day now unless they taped the episodes out of sequence.
IIRC, the day the news broke about the vets' firing was right around the time everyone was on set for Lexie's memorial service (or thereabouts). The news that MarDar were out was a few days (a week?) before that.
I have no doubt at all there will be re-writes showing up very, very soon. That is a staple of a "transition" from one rgime to the next.

However, TomSell's first real, full script is Muldoon and Clarks last day (the day of the olympic cliffhanger). So we still have a bit of a wait to go to see what they have in store. I would not be surprised to see Kristen in the cliffhanger....at all.

Please write 4 Bryan Dattilo, Give him a love interest.

Kristen! Eric! And A.S. in a new movie? Perhaps this means less of Days Of Our Sami? More actors liek Bryan, Drake, Deirdre, Ari Z, Eric M being show cased for a change? Whoppppeee maybe there is some hope for Days yet! I would be willing to watch an Eric Nicole Ej triangle. Now that would be hot.

Really, I have no illusions that this run is going to be anywhere as good as her run in the 90's. Anyone who believes that is fooling themselves. I'm just happy she's back and I'm going to celebrate it until the writers undoubtedly screw it up with their incompetence.
You know what? I think I'm just going to take this attitude. If the show's going to suck, I'd rather it suck with my favorite character around and be happy for that much.

Now watch Tomlin make me eat my words in about six months.
Same here. I may take her 1st airdate off of work just so I can celebrate lol

I have been waiting for this day since April 1998. Halle-freakin-lujah!!

I want Marlena to be heavily involved - these two were made for each other. Imagine the look on Marlena's face when Kristen walks into the room!!!

And please keep ED away from AS, unless Sister Mary is giving her another slap.
The real Kristen would totally use Sami to get her revenge on Doc.
Fuck Sami. Kristen wouldn't need her lol

Whatever the case, Kristen will need someone to talk to and scheme with or else she's going to be running around the DiMansion talking to herself. EJ might work, but I can't see those two getting along for very long. I would really like her brother Peter to return, even if it had to be a recast.

Please get her a henchman. I want Bart back! He was so funny, one of my favorite nothing characters ever. After a while I would love to see Rolf too. They're great characters. You made me nervous when you said she would be talking to herself. I don't need THAT JER plot point coming back. I don't need to see everyone talking to themselves and getting interrupted mid-secret. And I sure as Hell don't want to hear what people are thinking while they stare around corners every episode. I wonder how Tomlin is going to do with Kristen. I think Lorraine Broderick could do a great job with her. She seems to be a character that suits MarDar more than she will Tomlin, considering they are JER's disciples but they couldn't write anything interesting to save their lives. I can't put faith in Tomlin so they better be getting tons of input from Eileen Davidson.

Ej and Kristen need to be at odds.

I get the impression that Joe isn't back filming yet....so maybe this inheritance thing continues and Kristen shows up and THEN Stefano returns. John is trying to get DImera Enterprises for him.....Ej can try to stop John, Kristen comes in at the time, wouldn't that be perfect timing.....she's in the middle of Ej and John and guess who she sides with? YEP...JOHN......Ej and her start a rivalry immediately....she can have Kate to scheme with.

The one thing that always bothered me was Stefano's reaction to EJ not being his biological son, and the "this changes everything" attitude. Kristen and Peter were adopted (i.e., not his biological kids), yet Stefano never viewed that as a negative.
