Maybe SOD is waiting for the show to confirm? Now I'm just waiting for a Daytime Royalty interview with Eileen. How awesome would that be? ;)

The show did not confirm Blake Berris or SB/MA/CC/PM firings, but SOD ran with those stories.

Maybe there is something in the new mag about it....

Soaps need to have some camp and an over the top feel to them, especially a show like Days which has always been known for that. Tomlin and Whitesell can bring that back and will.
How the Hell can you be so sure that they "will"? Despite your claims of who wrote what, who steered this or that (and them blame everything you hate on higher-ups), you truly have no idea what TomSell can bring to the table until it airs. Dena was HW, and I haven't seen any interviews where Tomlin said, "Dena wrote this, I wrote that." :blah:

What a score that would be for the DR if they could get ED....I am just salivating at the questions that would be asked.

They'd be actual questions asked by people who either know or take the time to learn about the subject they're interviewing! That would be friggin' fantastic.

It's hard not to get expectations now that it's more real. I know what I want her to do, I think I'm reasonably flexible with it, but I also know that it's Days and so it will probably suck, especially if I have any hope at all. So...I'll just keep saying that all I want is a few good scenes, until I fully believe it.

Michael Fairman is quoting Nelson.. so...
He only quoted Nelson the the BTS stuff with Sony....Fairman would not confirm this news unless he heard it from his sources as well.
Glad to know.. I believed Nelson from the start. I wish the mags would get off their behinds and announce it. :D

Michael Fairman is final confirmation for me. He does quote Nelson a lot, but he doesn't deal in gossip at all. So he must have already heard this was close to being or was already a done deal. Of course Michelle Stafford and Christian LeBlanc are best friends, while Eileen Davidson and Christian LeBlanc are best friends so there's no way she would have sent that tweet unless she already knew it was a fact.

I didn't take the Matt Ashford thing as confirmation at all because he just seemed like oh yeah that's cool. And Nelson is risky to rely on. But after today's 2 confirmations I'm saying this is just as good as SOD or anyone else putting out any article about the return. Now I await the first interview and comments from Eileen Davidson! She needs to get back on Twitter!

I'm going to hope for the best. I think it's 'possible' the writers could write a great story to build up the younger set and have it be a good vet story as well.

I'd love to see Kristen doing something cosmically criminally Kristen to Eric to get back at Marlena. I'd love to see Nicole drawn in. Initial hostility after how they split, then her realizing Eric needs help. John and Marlena helping, and much as I dislike AS, it would actually be nice for her to realize all that J&M went thru and thru her feelings for Eric and whatever happens to him, finally thaw and actually sympathize, understand her mother and stepfather.

I wouldn't mind if Kristen had a child after she left that is John's that she could use against them as well, and add a new young woman to the canvas, perhaps evil and used to get Eric. Lots of possibilities to revitalize the show. I do wish there were some way to stop John being a Brady and Dimera. Even if they made Colleen adopted so none of his children would be partially Brady. I really wish they'd have it as just a scam Stefano was up to for some reason I can't dream up. I liked him being an 'adopted' Brady better anyway, and it's somewhat limiting to giving him a new child that is related to so many people in Salem.

Regardless, Days needs a good villain, and Kristen could be amazing. I'm gonna hope for a little while anyway. :)
I like your ideas, except the child. I'm sick and tired of John's potential children. NO MORE. And how would it happen? The last time Kristen slept with John was like February or March 1997, she left in April 1998.
I was actually thinking of Susan being with John while Marlena and Kristen were in the secret room and Susan (not Kristen) being pregnant again when she left town, but I realize the timing wouldn't work out. I could buy her hiding a new baby from everyone after all that went on with Elvis, but it's not likely with the follow up and with the scenes in England with Edmund and Kristen and Vivian. I always forget the England shenanigans.

I'm open to more children, but I do think it's too limiting with John's heritage, sadly. I love Drake and Deidre with young people. I still want a baby from when Steffie took Doc from RoJohn in 86 though. :)

Kristen using whatever she can against them was my main thought, and children come to mind as their most likely biggest weak spots. Eric (and Sami, Carrie, Brady, Belle) are plenty for her to work with though. :D

Nelson's article has been posted. Both Eileen and Greg are mentioned as coming to Days........

DAYS OF OUR LIVES, NBC/GLOBAL — Davidson’s Awkward Sony Deal To Reprise DAYS Roles Exposed! Greg Vaughn Cast as Eric Brady! Gay-less DAYS Ahead!
• Eric Brady, Sami’s good twin, is finally headed back to Salem. Sources inform UNCENSORED that Greg Vaughn has nabbed the coveted role. Kyle Lowder, who played Brady on DAYS, pitched himself but the show thought it was too confusing for the audience to have Eric Martsolf—Brady’s current portrayer on the canvas. Yet it’s OK to have Josh Taylor’s Chris K play Roman Brady?
Funny that he changed the headline from "Gay-less DAYS Ahead" to "Gay Storyline On The Backburner"

I've watched their work on other shows. I watched alot of his previous work on Days in the early 80's. I saw glimmers of what they could bring under Higley's regime from 2009-2011. I know what kind of things they bring to the screen. Every writer has a style. If you watch enough of their work, you realize when they are writing and when they are not. Sure, they could flop but I do know what we will get in terms of tone, types of stories, etc.

BTW, no one in this business is just going to come right out and say who wrote what if the person who was supposed to be head writer (Higley) didn't always write all the time. Remember the infamous Ed Scott/Dena Higley scandal in 2008? No one from the show who worked at the show at that time has ever come out and addressed that along with actors rewriting scripts yet several sources did. There was also an interview with Higley in 2010 where she came out and admitted she would have meetings with Tomlin and Whitesell and that she would have alot of her ideas tossed out. She also gave them credit for the baby switch so there was evidence of her not having 100% control all the time.

And I am not an apologist. Just because I don't fall in line with the majority of this board does not mean one is an "apologist.' It's called a dissenting opinion.

I know it's pretty much a given that she's coming back, but it does bother me that the show hasn't confirmed it yet. Maybe they're waiting for a SOD cover story or an exclusive in TV Guide. I just want them to issue a statement and make it official, because while 98% of me is thrilled with the confirmations we've got so far, the other 2% of me still feels like this is too good to be true.

I would love for John & Marlena to have a foster child. And they need to have their 86 baby. PRONTO. Seriously, it just fit. They even discussed family stuff, didn't they?

T_R_S, I agree with you. Kristen should not be in love with John any more. She should hate John with every cell in her body, but not as much as she hates Marlena. There really is a lot of story to tell from this angle.

I'm trying to brainstorm other characters Kristen had links with:

Jennifer - best friends
Billie - best friends
Jack and Laura - hated them because of Peter
