Of course they're killing the gay storyline. Its the only one that kinda worked. Of course CM will leave the show. That's what happens when fans pump a young actor's head. They leave. Find out the real world is not easy. He can turn out to be the next Jensen Ackles or Tom Pelphrey. Jensen made it. Tom, got a lot of pimping and left and then realized its not as easy as soap fans made him believe. But then again, Jensen didn't get a lot of love from fans until he left the show. Do you prefer RoboJohn? Hey, maybe he could hook up with Susan. Talk about a match made in heaven. :sarcasm: So frickin happy about Eileen returning. :sweet: She is so amazing that I'm not even worried about the hacks writing for her. I just know she'll overcome it and be fantastic!! |

I think the "gayless" comment is going back to what Meng said in his interview a couple of months ago. I think tptb are running scared because of ratings & they just want the "fuss" to die down. I don't think Sonny or Will are going anywhere, they will probably just be pushed into other stories where their sexual orientation won't be a factor. Not talked about. Didn't Sonny just say to Lucas that Will wasn't ready for a relationship? I think tptb were already laying the groundwork to push the gay storyline back a bit. PS. Where is Kenny?? |

OLTL received just a much press and praise and they were definitely de-gayed, so it's quite believable. As I stated earlier, I really don't think Will is in any danger of being written off or back-burnered. |

It would be stupid for Days to drop the gay storyline, it's one of the best things going for Days right now. I hope NB is wrong about it. I can't wait for ED to come back to Days, Kristian was so fun to watch and imo Days' Kristian is a much better character than Y&R's Ashley. |

I fully expect CM to leave, too. Days' days are numbered as it is. IDK how much further back they could possibly push wilson, though. They're barely on the back burner as it is. |

I think the way Nelson reported the Chandler new was completely sensational. Let's be honest, the "coming-out" portion of Will's story ended quite naturally last week. Everyone knows that he is gay. Their is no more coming out to do. The next logical step would be Will getting a love-life or the continued growth of his relationship with Sonny. Nelson framed it as if the actor himself (not just the gay story) was being put on the backburner and I think most people would say that makes no sense. If you have Chandler Massey (a young, cheap, emmy award winning actor) under contract for the next 1.5 years then you make sure you use him. What good does it do to keep him on the shelf. He's a legacy character and their is no shortage of story for him. |

So glad they didn't toy with the idea of bringing Lowder back as Eric. Never could understand why he's so desired. I never thought he was a great actor like people claim he is. It's sad when Martsolf is able to make a role the role his own with his lack of talent. As for Davidson, glad to hear we're closer to a real confirmation about her return. The part that surprises me is that Sony wanted her to appear on both shows. Wasn't she complaining about the workload in the 90s? She was willing to do it again? That seems weird to me. And you would think it would be worse doing two shows rather than one, given the different schedules DAYS and Y&R probably are on. I just don't have a good feeling about all of the faith Sony apparently has in Kristen's return. Sure, she led the stories in the mid-90s, but that's a case of "that was then, this is now." As it's been stated several times, Kristen hasn't been seen in 14 years, with barely to little mentions in those 14 years. That's almost a decade and a half! Just like the audience in the 90s changed from the 80s, the audience of today may not be the same as the 90s. The shippers for EJami, EJole, Safe, Lumi, etc. probably don't even know/nor care who the hell Kristen Blake is. Honestly, I can't believe anyone thinks this is going to improve the show. Yes, I'll enjoy Kristen's return because I was there watching in the 90s. Other posters will be in the same boat. But I'm sure there are many, many, many viewers that aren't going to even twitch at the first sight of Kristen. Look at what Carly's return did in 2009. She hadn't been seen in 17 years. There was a slight bump around her return, but it's hard to determine what that was a result of since the show's leading story (baby switch 2) was at it's climax at that point. After that initial rise, no one seemed to give a damn about Carly being back in Salem. Many still had no idea who she was and it wasn't until she became Melanie's mother that it felt she had a permanent place on the show with today's audience. Kristen returning now would be like Don Craig returning in 1996. No one would have cared at all, I'm afraid. As for the less gay-related storylines, it wouldn't surprise me. That was one of the first things I expected to happen once Tomlin/Whitesell were announced as the new head writers. I was surprised to learn we would be seeing more Sonny. Pleasantly surprised, that is. But I wouldn't be shocked if Sonny and Will's sexualities are diminished once Tomlin/Whitesell arrive. I also am not surprised by the claim that Massey plans on leaving once his contract expires. He's an amazing talent and if he's given other opportunities, he would be a moron to remain on soaps. |

Oh, I have my doubts about the writing too. My fear is the monkey's paw will strike & put Kristen with Rafe. That would be the ultimate slap of the monkey's paw IMO. My only hope is that I feel like the writing wasn't always stellar during Kristen's first run, but she could make it work. Hopefully, she can do that again & she can cause the other actors in her scenes to step it up. (not that it will be necessary with DeeH & JS-I think they'll bring it) There have been plenty of screwed up returns, I'm not arguing that, but I think this is the best news we could've gotten. And I do want to like this show & have hope for it. |

I will effin lose it if Chandler is backburned or leaves the show!!! So mad that Days might try to get rid of the gay storyline :flipoff: I still love Will/Sami and the EJ/Will dynamics, but I want Wilson damn it! Happy about Eileen coming back, but this stuff about Chandler pisses me off!!! |
