Awwh, I can't wait for this. All the flashbacks!!! I'm so happy about all the flashbacks!!! And I love that they had all these different people remembering all these different sides to Lexie - even some of the bad stuff. It really sounds like a great tribute to the character - I hope it plays as well as it is written.

So help me if Dikki keeps going down this road (her calling him out on sleeping with everybody and the "handholding is not for people like us"), I may become a full-fledged fan. I really like their make-no-bones-about-it dynamic.

And of course, I'm excited for the Ejami stuff. The fact that neither of them are begging or pursuing, but that there seems to be unacknowledged feelings on both sides is perfect. How I wish that this was the kind of writing they would've gotten three years ago, rather than garbage that DH wrote.
You totally just made me realize what I'm liking about Dan and Nicole. Yes, it's the lack of pretense! They are just writing them as this is who they are and having them be honest with each other about it. This is the same direction EJ and Sami's writing has been moving too. We are who we are, we know we aren't perfect, we know each each others faults and our own faults and acknowledge them.

I think this is a very smart direction to go with these very flawed characters. Having them accept each other without pretense is what has me accepting them too. Maybe these are TomSel script tweaks, LOL. That's sure not how MarDar used to be writing these characters - with them having this kind of candor. But Seriouly, this show seems to have suddenly flipped again with many of the characters saying this is me, no use denying it. I don't know whose responsible for this, but I really love it. Maybe the success of Wil's coming out story gave them the idea to have other characters come to grips with their true selves and each other, saying.... This is me, take it or leave it, just as Will had to. It's a nice theme to move characters through because it advances them as characters and makes their relationships more natural and believable.

Please write 4 Bryan Dattilo, Give him a love interest.

I don't think so. At this point I'm not holding out much hope for Tomlin and his minions either.
I don't see much hope for any couple until the writers get a set of balls and write a clear, rootable couple. Sorry, imho Ej and Sami ain't it, considering they have never been and hopefully never will be a couple.

This actually sounds really good. I can't say I'm happy about Kayla and Steve divorcing though, but I guess they'd already done the MIA husband with Jack, so divorce was their only option without killing Steve off. Would love it if he would come back someday.

Looking forward to the Lexie flashbacks and Ejami!

The scenes at Chez Rouge sound so well done. If the acting matches the dialogue, this will be one of the best episodes in a long time and more importantly, it sounds like they really gave Lexie a good send off.

This sounds amazing! Why are the Cullitons not the head writing team? Love that we're getting Lexie flashbacks and that the show used the danicole conversation to make a couple of things clear. Pairings that have tension, family moments, use of history - this episode is made up of every element that keeps me watching Days.

I have to agree that Kayla's comments about Steve were the one aspect of the episode that I didn't love, but I'm willing to accept the comments because I want Kayla on my screen damnit. If they aren't bringing Steve back (which they obviously aren't right now), then they absolutely must address the status of their relationship. And I even don't mind Kayla and Steve divorcing and Kayla getting another love interest, so long as Steve/Kayla's history and relationship is always treated with the respect it deserves. Ultimately, I choose having a single Kayla on the show and featured in her own stories over having her with Steve but off-screen.

At this point I want the show to survive. The only petty thing about this was the Steve stuff, so im not feeling petty either. I watched all the crap thats been offered up without ever quitting on this show, so I'm going to enjoy a well written episode when I can. And this is well written episode within lots of interesting things going on under the surface. Acceptance of who people are. The possibility of change into a better person like Lexie, who had her bad DiMera days too. The importance of friendship. The innocence and hopefulness of the children, who are the future. The ephemeral nature of our lives which is hit home by Marlena's reading, and making the most out of what you're given in life. I'm excited.

Much prefers sweevil, snarky EJ over Father Figure Fucktard Eejiot.

Sounds fabulous! I'm so happy to see they've really given Lexie a proper send off - flashbacks, a good number of the cast involved, etc. I was concerned they'd squander the opportunity to really pay tribute to her character but it sounds like they've stepped up and done it by the way this reads.

Major bonus points...EJami interacting with their kids and one another.

Can I just say how happy I am that they had a Culliton pen Lexie's tribute episode. If only they could write every show (and yes Matt, Lacy Dyer too - did she get fired along with MarDar?)!!

Ejami never being tried as a real couple is the best reason to do so now. Something, anything, has got to give or this show is done. What they've been doing for the last several years, EJami at war, pod Sami, Nicole and EJ and Nicole, Rafe of Our Lives, and not bothering to use great actors like Matt when they have them, hasn't gotten Days what they want ratings wise. I'm ready for change. I'm hoping with ED's return shows how serious Sony is about saving this show, since they forced Y&R to turn her over to days. They gotta do whatever they think will work, and I'll watch. If Sony and NBC aren't ready to give up on Days, I'm not either. This reads like a real improvement on writing and that's what is most needed no matter who they write for.

Agreed. What I liked best is that they had the characters be respectful without whitewashing her.

I do agree that the Abe/Kayla thing could have been handled a bit better. If it were up to me, I would have brought in a kid to play Joe and had the Carvers and Johnsons spend time together in the months leading up to Lexie's illness and death, with some hints along the way about Steve/Kayla's marriage issues.

Bring back Jack!

Wow Jack gets 2 lines today. Can't wait! :wow:

The memorial stuff sounds good apart from the Ejami stuff and ugh to the Daniel/Nicole scenes.

Ahhh...This show sounds soooo good! How wonderful that Lexie has gotten the send-off she deserves. Tomorrow will have me in tears.

The Dikki scenes sound good too. There's something quite intriguing about this relationship. It's edgy and fresh. Besides, SC and AZ play very well off each other. I'm quite interested in seeing this continue as I like the dynamic between these two.

And, finally, happy dance time - Ejamily scenes!!! Favorite line of the day: She'd say 'If you and Sami would stop trying to destroy one another you could actually make each other happier than you've ever been.' I knew there was a reason I liked Lexie so much - Lexie was an Ejami!

tomorrow's episode sounds really good

I can't wait to see it, and I love the little recap of Lexie's history (good and bad) combined with flashbacks, it sounds like a very fitting tribute and send off, however it would have been nice if they would have mentioned that RoJohn was the one who set Abe and Lexie up, but other than that everything else sounds wonderful and I'm looking forward to seeing it

Thanks Pat and Skye :)

I'm Irish and I've danced at wakes, sang at wakes and told funny stories about the deceased. A wake is a party in celebration of the person's life, Not like a typical funeral reception where they mourn the death.
