And, finally, happy dance time - Ejamily scenes!!! Favorite line of the day: She'd say 'If you and Sami would stop trying to destroy one another you could actually make each other happier than you've ever been.' I knew there was a reason I liked Lexie so much - Lexie was an Ejami!
I'm thinking if TomSel was cutting EJami to move away from themi, they would have cut the line out totally.

people dancing on wake really such contrived BS
they could have wait before tease abe and kayla dancing on lexie wake of all places common
is it even been over day since lexie died when they already tease with abe and kayla common
I'm Irish and I've danced at wakes, sang at wakes and told funny stories about the deceased. A wake is a party in celebration of the person's life, Not like a typical funeral reception where they mourn the death.
Yea, I thought the dancing was a really weird thing to do when it sounded like the memorial was the service itself, but everyone getting together after the funeral to celebrate the person's life isn't unheard of in a lot of cultures, so that's not contrived.

I'm Irish too, and I've done the same thing! I knew there was a special reason why I've enjoyed reading your posts.

Nothing like a wake to celebrate a life well-lived (and loved).

This is all wonderful! The only thing i could live without is Kayla dogging on Steve because the entire rest if the episode is very positive. I wish they had left it all positive with the way everyone was getting along. The flashbacks of Lexie and Marlena reading that quote are going to have be bawling, I just know it.

I didn't want to like Dan and Nicole, but I love her keeping him company when he's having a tough time with Lexie dying of cancer like his wife did. Nicole understands pain and loss and i think dhes starting to care for Daniel. These two really do have some kind of chemistry going on I didn't expect to see from them. Rafe who?

EJ and Sami. I have developed an EJami living heart and these kind of scenes are why, nobody else could sell these two after all the shit that Dena put them through. But even reading the dialogue I buy that while they still have problems, they are enough alike that they understand each other on a level nobody else does. Maybe it's because of everything they've done to and for each other. They just connect in that way that people who have known each other a long time do. Sami hasn't forgotten she doesn't want Will around EJ, but she's willing to put that aside for now, and still encourage him to be a better man. The one thing I can say Sami has been consistent about where EJ is concerned, is that she wanted him out from under Stefano's influence.

The scene with the Johnny and the dancing is pure fan wanking, but I'm ok with EJami getting a turn. EJole and Lumi got their wanking this week, so its fair enough. I also happen to find EJami still has amazing "it" power when they interact this way, not forgetting their problems but just putting them aside to be there for each other and their kids. It's a relief to see them behaving like real people, especially Sami. She has a soft spot for a few people in her life, and that keeps her from being a completely shallow character.

I like that they highlighted Dancole and EJami as outsiders but gave them each other to interact with in this important episode. I can't wait to watch this!!

Goodbye, Alexandra Brooks DiMera Carver. You were one helll of a character from your crime fighting days, to your baby knapping days, to your time as a healer and best friend to everyone in Salem.
Lexie dying and Will coming out are the two stories that MarDar did well. This episode is going to be tough to watch. :frownie: :

Awwh, I can't wait for this. All the flashbacks!!! I'm so happy about all the flashbacks!!! And I love that they had all these different people remembering all these different sides to Lexie - even some of the bad stuff. It really sounds like a great tribute to the character - I hope it plays as well as it is written.

So help me if Dikki keeps going down this road (her calling him out on sleeping with everybody and the "handholding is not for people like us"), I may become a full-fledged fan. I really like their make-no-bones-about-it dynamic.

And of course, I'm excited for the Ejami stuff. The fact that neither of them are begging or pursuing, but that there seems to be unacknowledged feelings on both sides is perfect. How I wish that this was the kind of writing they would've gotten three years ago, rather than garbage that DH wrote.
You totally just made me realize what I'm liking about Dan and Nicole. Yes, it's the lack of pretense! They are just writing them as this is who they are and having them be honest with each other about it. This is the same direction EJ and Sami's writing has been moving too. We are who we are, we know we aren't perfect, we know each each others faults and our own faults and acknowledge them.

I think this is a very smart direction to go with these very flawed characters. Having them accept each other without pretense is what has me accepting them too. Maybe these are TomSel script tweaks, LOL. That's sure not how MarDar used to be writing these characters - with them having this kind of candor. But Seriouly, this show seems to have suddenly flipped again with many of the characters saying this is me, no use denying it. I don't know whose responsible for this, but I really love it. Maybe the success of Wil's coming out story gave them the idea to have other characters come to grips with their true selves and each other, saying.... This is me, take it or leave it, just as Will had to. It's a nice theme to move characters through because it advances them as characters and makes their relationships more natural and believable.
I liked the idea of Nicole playing Dr. Dan, not so much her developing real feelings for the sleaze. However, you've nailed why I'm not hating them. Character-based writing, what a concept, and can we keep it?

I know - the Lexie montage (including the red dress) during Marlena's reading of The Tempest had me bawling. It was an actual soap death - soooo good.

I'm literally speechless at how they can turn Lexie's memorial service into a pimping of unwanted pairings and useless irrelevant characters (I'm looking at you Cam and Gabi). This episode looks like its gonna suck minus Nicole scenes which seem hilarious.

I can't wait to see this episdoe tomorrow. I have never cried at a soap befroe but I may cry at this. I am glad that they are doing the flashbacks. This is going to be so sad. I bet the whole cast did a great job so full of emotion and tears.

This I bet is the best episode of the week. Poor little Theo.

I just watched some of the clips from the Chez Rouge scenes. Bawling.Like.A.Baby..............that montage at the end while they had Marlena read The Tempest.....just wow.

As much as I love (and I do love) the positive EJami interaction in this epi, today had me feeling stuff like I used to feel watching my daytime drama. Everyone was fantastic. The DH's, PR, KA, MA and MR, MBE all did RJ proud. What a tribute of respect. I must say James Reynolds again just nailed it. He has pleasantly surprised me. Nice work! Seeing the kids playing together in the background was good as well. They were seen in several scenes. It felt like a real ensemble show today. I know it won't last, but this is why I think I still hang on as a viewer. To get a glimmer of shows like today where it looks and feels like the Days of our Lives where I couldnt' miss an episode.

No Roman? Major fail if Roman wasn't at Abe's wife's memorial. No way would he not be there. No Carrie, Austin, Kate, Lucas, Will? This should have been an entire cast event. Daniel's off making googoo eyes at Nicole instead of being there?

Other than the glaring omissions of the funeral attendance list it does sound like a good soapy episode. I could do without the Kayla/Abe anvil at Lexie's funeral though, we get it they're coming, Ej and Sami are coming. They don't need to anvil any of it at Lexie's memorial.

Lexie's funeral is going to have me in tears! That was beautiful. The flashbacks, the memories, the stories. I'm not sure if I can take watching it live. :'( I'll miss her!

LOVE Dancole parts. Like others have said, both are real with each other and not trying to be someone they aren't. I was nervous about them, but now I honestly like them and proud to say I'm a Dancole/Dikki/Dick fan.

 at the ejami portions, I'm just speechless. They are real with each other as well and I'm loving that right now. I was cheesing like a fiend at the awkwardness after EJ told Sami what Lexie thought about those two. And Johnny gave me another reason why I love him so.

They either need to clone the Cullitons or let them write every episode because they never disappoint.

Can we talk about what Jennifer Rose wore to the funeral?
It seemed to be some sort of summer dress.

I notice these scenes were taped the day the news came out about the firings of MA, CC, PM and SJB (I remember MA&MR were posing with the J&J cake wearing these outfits).
