I wish Nicole was there for EJ...
Nicole is too busy sexing up Daniel :shame:
Hey, I like Dancole with their "keeping it real" vibe. And I never thought I would say this but they are hawt!
I would'nt say I like them together but they are hot together, if that makes sense. :P

Wow - overall, a really nice, enjoyable episode!

I thought the ending, with the reading from "The Tempest", coupled with the flashbacks, was incredible. Deirdre read it beautifully.

Much prefers sweevil, snarky EJ over Father Figure Fucktard Eejiot.

Excellent episode across the board. I really enjoyed the Lexie flashbacks. Loved the interactions during the memorial. I even didn't mind the teen scene as much. It's fun watching the stink eye looks Abby keeps giving Gabi for putting the moves on Chad. She's definitely on to her.

The kids were adorable during the episode. I couldn't help but smile when it looked like little Johnny missed a cue in his blocking and Kristian Alfonso was getting ready to step in to help when he caught up with where he was supposed to be. And then shortly after they show him dancing (or was that counting his cue on his fingers) and then Theo gives him a bump to cue him to run over to Sami. It's fun seeing these little behind the scenes type moments - it really makes you appreciate how detail oriented they have to be.

Flying my EJami freak flag high in the air - I did so enjoy their scenes. I liked that throughout the episode there were tense moments between them intermingled with tender. Their awkward reaction after EJ told Sami what Lexie had said about their potential to make each other happy was both funny and sweet. I'm really enjoying watching them both struggle with whatever that charge is between them - rather than seeing EJ begging and pleading to no avail.

I have to say I'm quite surprised at the solid writing they are giving Dicole. I really thought this would just be a slam bam, thank you for keeping my secret, sir type of relationship but they are actually giving them some legs - having them talking about Chloe, mentioning their past interactions when Nicole felt EJ was trying to kill her, Rebececca...just wow. And their last scene when they kissed was both hot and romantic.

That last scene with Marlena reading the speech from "The Tempest' as they showed the Lexie monologue was just wonderful - definitely had the tears flowing.

Overall - really, really great episode. Farewell, Lexie. :tears:

What?!!! No Ejami looking lovingly into each other's eyes? No long slow drawn out dancing? No big revelations during the "awesome" (lol) Ejami dance? I took a chance and watched because I wanted to see the last of Lexie. Glad I didn't have to endure too much Ejami. Dacole were good. Not as good as Ejole, but good. Now its time for Nicole to change clothes, please.

Classic Soap Fan

Seriously. These last 2 episodes of this show have been the best back2back episodes I've seen in YEARS and the closest thing I've seen to the REAL Days of our Lives in longer than I really care to remember. I loved how many different storylines were touched upon within the episode and nothing felt overly dragged out. Topics were brought up, given the appropriate amount of time/discussion, and then we moved on. And there was a significant movement of time within this episode. Daniel/Nicole started out at the hospital. Went to dinner. Had dinner. Went their separate ways. Came back together. In any other episode, we would've skipped dinner all together & they would've stood and talked about the same damn thing for the full episode. I liked how Daniel brought up his wife's death because it made logical sense in context of the story (wow. Days made logical sense. who woulda thunk it?) and served to LOGICALLY explain why he has issues with funerals. Nicole essentially being persona non grata with EJ would keep her away, but I thought it would've been a nice touch to have Nicole there for Abe since he is the father of her brother (although I do admit that I liked that Brandon was mentioned).

Speaking of random mentions, when was the last time anyone mentioned Jonah?! Or The Pacifier?!

And, FINALLY, someone fucking remembers that Lexie & Sami didn't like one another! And that fucking flashback was made of SO. MUCH. CAMPY. WIN.

I know some people are bitching, but I liked having the younger characters involved because any time an event like this happens, it's good writing to allow other stories to be touched upon so, for me, it made logical sense (there's that word again).

I liked that Kayla discussed Steve with both Jack/Jennifer and Bo/Hope. It made sense. Although I have hard time believing that Steve would just run off, I do like it that they're playing it like the characters are just as confused and troubled by it. And considering Stephen Nichols isn't coming back any time soon, I'll suffer through it just to have MBE stick around. The only truly false note for me, however, were those GIANT Abe/Lexie anvils dropping. I wish they'd give us at least a moment to breathe before they start pairing them together. Not everyone has to be partnered up all the damn time.

I can't believe how much I'm actually enjoying Daniel/Nicole. IMO, they've got just the right amount of chemistry and I can't believe how WELL they're being written. I like them both calling each other on their shit (Nicole is the ONLY woman on the show who ever calls Daniel being a manwhore!) and that antagonistic push/pull they have going on is such CLASSIC Days couple set-up. IMO, I don't think the show has set up a potentential couple so well (and so old school!) in years. Duller than dirt Cameron & Abby need to take note.

And I'm far from a EJ/Sami shipper, but I really appreciated their scenes today and FINALLY saw this big chemistry everyone always said they had (but I have never been able to see through her screaching & his windmill arms). I thought both AS & JS really did a nice job underplaying their scenes and getting right to the emotion of them. Although I still have issues with an EJ/Sami pairing due to the WTFeries of their history, this at least makes me interested in seeing more and whether the writing can logically support moving forward with them as a couple. And before people start bitching about EJ/Sami having a moment (oh, who the fuck am I kidding?), EJ/Nicole had a nice moment yesterday. I just wish there was more consistant storyline direction for whatever the fuck is going on with Lucas/Sami/EJ/Nicole/Daniel because I don't fucking have a clue what I'm supposed to spending my time emotionally investing in. IMO, EJ really needs a talk-to character unconnected to either Nicole & Sami where we as an audience can understand where the fuck he's coming from because, as it stands now, we're left to guess based on inconsistant writing for the character. As EJ's current lacky, Will might be a good candidate, but his connection to Sami would rule him out. IMO, EJ really needs a henchman/confidante.

Finally (sigh), I LOVED that this show actually played a REAL FUCKING SONG. I could give a rat's ass that it was Austin & Carrie's because, to be honest, I'd totally forgotten that it was Austin & Carrie's. lol And I didn't find everyone dancing that unusual because I hear all the time about people insisting that they want their funerals to be parties and life celebrations with music and dancing. And considering that it was very specifically stated that Lexie is the one who made all of the arrangements for this after service gettogether, I thought it made perfect sense. And I loved that it was finally acknowledged about Lexie keeping Zach. And when Marlena read Shakespear as we did those beautiful flashbacks (Lexie's "Queen of Hearts" Mother of the Year dress!) I became a total wreck. IMO, MarDar's funeral for Lexie blew Higley's funeral for Alice out of the water.

Dare I say that yesterday & today combined are damn near Emmy worthy? If these 2 eps aren't on the show's short list for submission consideration come Emmy time, I'll be damned surprised.

I really hate these days that last weeks. After a couple days of seeing people in the same clothes it just feels icky even knowing they hopefully launder them between filming. Marlena reading Shakespeare = awesome.

YES! It was like a soap opera is supposed to be.

And I agree with Matt, this was a much better written episode than the Alice tribute. The ending with Marlena's reading was beautifully touching and just down right perfect, IMO.

All in all, an amazing episode.

Hear, hear. Reminded me of the good ol' days - as a young mom, sending the kiddies out to play or settling them in for a "quiet time", finally sitting down with my favourite daytime show, and having a moment with characters that I loved or as a teen, sneaking into the cottage every afternoon (we were supposed to be outside!) and watching General Hospital on the only station we got. It was about romance, family drama, crying for characters that were hurting, or laughing at the annoying summer teen stories.

It's been a long time since a soap felt like a real soap opera. I appreciated the background noise at Chez Rouge (instead of the usual 4 people coming to a memorial!). Really, how much $$$ do extras cost for weddings/funerals/special events?

Didn't see Maggie or Victor? WTF is wrong with that picture? I thought they would be there, somehow, some way.
How would they know Lexie? I actually think it's a good writing decision not to include them, unless I'm forgetting some major interaction they had with her. This isn't a Salem event, it's a Carver family event.
You say that, but there were so many "extras" at Chez Rouge,) (not family that's for sure) I would think Maggie would atleast would come in support of a well known, well respected Doctor. Over the years, I'm sure they've shared scenes. I specifically remember Lexie and Maggie sharing scenes over Daniel's diagnosis and talking about it on a very personal level. Then they talk about Theo and being their for their sons. This is definitely not a doctor- patient talk. They are friends in my books. Sorry, don't agree. Definitely a faux-pas on TPTB part..

I didn't know this show had it in them to focus on a non-EJ couple or potential couple for longer than 30 secs.

And I'm so thankful to have a break from the very moldy Rafe/Sami/EJ/Nicole box.

It was ridiculous to not have Maggie at the memorial. First, Chez Rouge is her restaurant. Second, Maggie has been on the board of University Hospital -- and a frequent worker at the hospital, too -- for years. (I believe Victor was on the board as well.)

In addition, where were Doug and Julie? They would certainly have been there.

Also, did everyone forget Lexi stealing Hope's baby and lying about it? Or is that one of those "things" we are supposed to "forget" like Jack raping Kayla??
