I have said it before and I will continue to say it until GG is let go or enrolled in some remedial acting classes, but the guy doesn't have the chops for leading man status. I hated the Safe pairing for all kinds of reasons, but at the end of the day, the biggest reason was that GG just doesn't have it in him to play opposite AS as a leading man. As a character, Rafe needs to take a step into the background. As a second-tier character, he is OK, but if he is supposed to be the new, big foil for EJ, or a romantic match with a leading lady, he is going to have to be recast if this show wants to make the character believable and root-able. |

:saberduel: Oh, please! GG does extremely well in his role. I can understand if you don't approve of him with Sami, many don't. But to say he doesn't have the chops for leading man status is really stretching it. The majority of women viewers out there think he's fantastic and wouldn't care if he didn't say a word....sorry, do as many do when EJ comes on the screen, just endure it or FF it... there's been enough of a slaughter of characters on this show. There has been enough disgust and animosity to go around, let's just enjoy DOOL.... who know how long we'll have it around to criticize! |

Was Sami dropped on her head after she was born? |

I guess we will have to agree to disagree. FWIW, I found his acting subpar on Passions as well. I just don't think he is as talented as some of the actors he is frequently paired with. To each their own, I guess. Also, it's when he does say a word that I find fault with him. I can understand people's desires to keep him around as eye candy, he is a nice looking guy. Given that logic, Sami and Rafe are PERFECT together. I could replace the name Sami in your first sentence and it makes perfect sense. She should NOT be a leading lady. AS cannot act. So putting her with Rafe puts her on a more level acting talent field. BD is way better than AS. But he can act with her anyway, and make her somewhat tolerable. Loved Will's "Elvis". Loved him hugging Sonny. LOATHE Dr. Filthy touching Nicole. |

Much prefers sweevil, snarky EJ over Father Figure Fucktard Eejiot.

Exactly. GG is purty. But he's much better off keeping his mouth shut and being background scenery because the man cannot emote. At all. Nice enough guy...but acting is not a strength for him. |

Oh.Em.Gee. I am absolutely IN LOVE with Daniel/Nicole. Seriously. I can't even remember the last time I've been so captivated by a new couple on a soap. I just hope TPTB don't fuck it up (which, naturally, they will). I loved Nicole asking him pointblank why he gets involved with his patients (and then LISTING every. single. one of them). I liked Nicole saying she wasn't a gold digger (at least not anymore, she clarified). I liked that Daniel offered to take Nicole to brunch AND THEN HE DID. TO CHEZ ROUGE! Once again, we had an episode with freaking MOVEMENT. People didn't stay in the same place for a full episode and have the same conversation. Sonny didn't even appear until 1/2 way through! I have to admit, I actually liked Rafe & Sami being snarky with one another. Hell, at times he was down right boardering on nasty (I nearly fell over when he said "EJ left... now it's your turn.") I also sensed a shift in tone in the Austin/Carrie/Rafe story today that actually had Carrie seem more genuine in her feelings for Austin & remourseful for her feelings for Rafe. Knowing that this is about the time the departures were announced, I can't help but feel that shift is a deliberate story change. Also, I have to comment that I THOROUGHLY enjoyed the actual structure of today's episode. So many of the scenes were directly connected (via storyline or specific character mention/discussion) to other scenes that the episode had a really nice cohesion that DAYS has lacked more often than not over the last few months. It actually felt like a complete, connected show today. Dare I say that this is the FOURTH episode in a row that I've REALLY enjoyed? Granted, not as good as Friday, but definitely better than yesterday (which was still good). Heck, it was almost on par with last Thursday. Can they make it five for five for me tomorrow? :scared: |

Oh, William, you're playing with fire. But really, to see a seismic shift in the EJill power balance is a delight. Loved, loved, loved Will calling him Elvis. And Will's Sonny hug was lovely, but I do wish to see more of Sonny's POV. The Safe stuff was dull. Rafe, go investigate your murder case. Oh, I'll bet Agent Spencer is off doing that. AZ sparkles whomever she is with, but I'm squicked by the whole patient-doctor/high risk pregnancy thing. |

I must agree with you re the structure of the past few episodes...the pace and connections were actually really good! Something's different and for the better. I sense a start of a wrap up in the Caustin storyline and a slight reconnection with Sami & Rafe, even though they still snap at each other, it was a more friendly/civil conversation. I actually enjoyed each segment and I hope it continues also. I may celebrate! :wine: |

I, too, see the reconnection of Safe. In fact, I never thought they would not get back together. I just didn't expect all this Elvis stuff with Sami, but that's, IMHO, a MerDe thing and soon to be gone. Jesus Christ. It's hate and combat that turns them on. Ooh. How functional. Really gross. So if they were a couple, would we have to see mutual hatred every time before pigsex? Slaps and accusations, hatred and blame, violence then sex. Swell. What was the name of that stupid peice of shit about 50 grey people fucking and beating each other? Oh, nvm. Hee! Thanks Jamaican Beauty. |

:cheer: Can't wait to see the Dicole scenes. Their dynamic is pure awesomeness right now. C'mon Days, at least try to fuck it up. |

I have to say, I think i'm boarding the good ship Dicole. Like that they went to Chez Rouge for some eats. The conversation was good, I liked Nicoles dress and Dan still hasn't noticed Melanie is missing :) As for that Sami :boxing: . She does my head in, Rafe is better off without her and if she was my sister there would be a whole can of whoop coming her way. Ejill and Caustin didn't do much for me. Probably because Caustin are on the way out. Overall I liked the episode. Edited by jaygal, Jul 3 2012, 03:39 PM.

I feel almost exactly the same way. Fairly entertaining episode today, even without my favorite storyline. I sort of take back my initial Dan and Nicole don't have a storyline. I think the storyline might be that they don't have one. Think how fun it could be to have them agree to be friends with benefits, neither wants a relationship, etc., but one realizes down the road they're in love with the other (like when Eric comes back?). Who knows. Could be fun. And, wow, by next week they'll be in different clothes already. :cheer: And, because it needs to be said, EJ and Will were beyond fabulous together today. Be-YOND. |

I still find Daniel to be a smug, smarmy, sleazy-looking waste of space, but if he's semi-tolerable opposite Nicole, I attribute that to AZ. She is one of the show's better actresses and she does seem to elevate her screen partners' performances. And Nicole calling Daniel on his God-complex and serial patient-dating is infinitely preferable to Jen-Jen fawning over him and gushing about how perfect he is. I'll take the reformed vixen over the eternal ingenue any day of the week. |

Read the recap for today's episode and the Dicole garbage was reason enough to keep me from watching. Even AZ cannot make me like the sleazeball. Love SC, but Tanman has got to go. |

SC and AZ may have some chemistry but the pairing is just so wrong on many levels, the fact that Nicole is pregnant makes the sex scenes icky and its also grosses me out to see Tanman sleep with another one of his patients especially one with a high risk pregnancy. While I love seeing more of AZ/Nicole pairing her with the biggest manwhore in Salem while she's pregnant takes all my enjoyment out of seeing her on screen. Just one of my many reasons for boycotting Days. No use in watching when you can't even enjoy your favorite characters. :shame: |
