Nicole fights her conflict over having feelings for Rafe and Daniel.
This isn't first spoiler about Nicole's "feelings" for Rafe. We have yet to see onscreen that she has any feelings for Rafe (other than friendship). Its no different than the weekly "EJAMI sexual tension" spoilers we keep getting or the "Carrie and Rafe fight their feelings" BS. The spoilers are so repetitive it is ridiculous and not anymore believable. EPIC FAIL! On the previous hacks part.

And if an hour long ensemble show can only make one fanbase happy at a time then this more evidence of the underlying problem of this show (re: banner).
I think the bigger issue is an hour long ensemble show should be focused on making the general audience happy rather than focusing on how many fan bases are.
If they did that more than one fanbase would be happy. Still evidence of underlying problem. Exactly....the general audience will never be happy when its Merry-Go-Beds with EJ/Sami/Nicole/Rafe/Lucas 24/7....
Id rather take a hammer to the head.

Quoting limited to 4 levels deepWhat's an epic fail is EJ 's hair in your banner.
What males do you find hot?
Not too many, you know, since I am a guy and all...but that a side, Daniel and Rafe would not be two of them. Washed up over-tanned surfer and aging latin pappi are not my idea of "hot".
I know you are a guy, but what male actors on the show would you prefer to be leads. I'm being serious. John, Lucas, Will....EJ (with MUCH improved writing).
anyday over Rafe/Daniel & EJ (currently being written)
Shawn/Philip should be the male leads right now honestly...same goes for Eric...but all of those characters are off screen.
Brady should be a male lead, but Eric Martsolf is WAY to weak of an actor to be in that role.
Oh and Jack & Bo should still be around, LEADING story...fire those fucking hacks Galen and Shawn and give that cash to deserving actors who are at LEAST capable or believable in their acting.
LEGACY characters should be leading story, not washed up/useless Dena creations (Rafe & Daniel)

I am at the point where I would much rather see her dead or thought to be dead than to have to suffer through another go at her mirage of endless revolving men merry go round. Thats how sick I am of this shit.

Other than that, agreed. IDK if it's because MarDar decided not to focus on it, or because TomSell is editing out some racole lingering looks. Either way works for me.

I agree that Shawn and Phillip should also be involved. There should be a couple of leads for each age group allowing for a variety of storytelling.
And leads should change up every now and then. Supporting characters should get a lead chance as well. That's how a good show operates.

It's a problem because in Days case, it's the result of a lack of direction behind the scenes, but people eat this kind of stuff up in Primetime. It just has to be well written. I think its indecisiveness and poor contrived story telling especially where Sami and her endless men saga are concerned. They refuse to pick someone for her, so every few years they add yet another guy to her collection. Only to start the same tierd process again at a later date.

So "modern soaps" are suppose to suck ass all the time with airhogs, not make a lick of sense and have no payoff? Hmmm...I'll take "old soaps" any day of the week!

Who says they are writing EJ as a hero?
And villains are allowed to have romance.
They write him as a victim which is just as bad to try and elicit sympathy for him. Victor Newman proves you can write a villain as a lead consistantly with no need to portray him as poor poor weak Victor to gain sympathy. The audience loves him and still does. Granted the writing for him the past few years has suffered and its been tiring at times, but Victor Newman has never needed to be written as a victim to elicit sympathy. As a result we never see him weak or needy either. But he also has had a consistant love of his life which helps portray him more empathetically and not a viper like Sami is, a woman with a genuine and kind heart, Nikki.
I wish I got that version of Y&R, instead of the one where Victor screws up and mopes and tantrums because his kids turned on him, then the doormat Nikki scolds them for their reasonable reactions. Then Victor either does something "heroic" that probably wouldn't have been necessary if he hadn't purposefully caused the trouble in the first place, or becomes the victim of an even bigger villain, which absolves everything he did wrong and lets the cycle start all over again. Nicole's baby kicks for everyone, huh? I really wish they hadn't written Ian out of the show. It would have been nice to have another villain around. What they need is A villain because the way they are doing EJ right now would not even be considered in the villain territory. A presumed dead Stefano is more threatening than him.
He needs to stop this victim act and put some plans in motion instead of whimpering about how innocent he is. He's allowing Will to back him into a corner, allowing the police to screw him over with the polygraph. The way this is going, John is going to have no problem running him into the ground!!
And Yes Ian did seem promising at first and it sux he was not used properly.

The closest we have to a villain right now is freaking Andrew the stalker...thats ridiculous!
How can a soap opera be successful without some truly, fucked-in-the-head bad guys.

How can a soap opera be successful without some truly, fucked-in-the-head bad guys. For years now DAYS has been teetering btwn trying to make EJ the villian and romantic leading man all in one and IMO that has done his character a HUGE diservice because you can't have it both ways. Which goes back to the indecisiveness I mentioned earlier. IMO Ian would have made a great new villian seeing as EJ is a joke now but they unfortunately let him go.

I have already SEEN every lead story there is to tell about John and Bo. I love these two, I do, but they have had their leading man days.
Back in my day, my leading men were Bo, John, Steve, Shane and Jack. But they had their time and this is why we get the next generations (or new men to take their places) to lead the show. I look at all these actors now as supporting. Which is fine, or would be if their supporting stories were better, made sense, consistent, etc.
Shawn, Philip and Eric should be leads, I agree, but they are not here, and rather not recast, AGAIN, they remain off-screen (for the moment). But not every character HAS to be tied to legacy characters. That gets incestuous and tedious, so I see why they brought in new blood, ie. Rafe and Daniel. I don't think Rafe/Daniel or EJ are bad leads for the show or bad actors (overall). It's the writing that has not been consistent and the stories that have stunk in general.
Can you imagine subbing in Steve and Kayla for Nicole and Daniel right now? Of course you can't. No actors could make this horrible writing work. It's a credit to the actors themselves that ALL OF US haven't left yet.

Quoting limited to 4 levels deepthe doormat Nikki scolds them for their reasonable reactions.
Agreed...the show is just in need of a SOLID villain. A true major villain.... The closest we have to a villain right now is freaking Andrew the stalker...thats ridiculous! How can a soap opera be successful without some truly, fucked-in-the-head bad guys.
Because for years now DAYS has been teetering btwn trying to make EJ the villian and romantic leading man and IMO that has done his character a HUGE diservice because you can't have it both ways. Which goes back to the indecisiveness I mentioned earlier. IMO Ian would have made a great new villian seeing as EJ is a joke now. I'd add they've done all the characters being written around a disservice as well. They are also constantly flip-flipped. And it's worse because most of them have solid foundations that are being destroyed.
