ETA: it sure gets quiet when people get fed up with the BS. I wish Days would take note of that.
Really? We're currently on page 52 of this thread. I wouldn't consider that 'quiet'.
I look back the last couple days since I wasn't online mostly. Just a small few are talking doesn't make it active just makes them talkative. Three people can turn a post into twelve pages if they wanted to. It's still three people.
Threads typically slow down after a while and then fizzle out - but I think the overall size show there has been quite a lot of discussion. Personally, I enjoy not having to read through pages and pages of fanwanking (admittedly more or less so depending on who is doing the wanking) so shorter threads wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing as far as I'm concerned. But I definitely wouldn't say that's what we have with this one. I'm old school. I remember when even the most rabid fanbases knew how to analyze and accurately discuss the show. Some "fanwanking" but also good discussion. That was before fans became soldiers for a make believe war. (writing that I immediately think of mister Rogers's puppets fighting to the death. Odd I know.)
That being said TPTB are the biggest fanbase whores there is.
I know buzz is headed the show's way becaus of the cliffhanger. Let's just hope it doesn't take days off the cliff.

I really, really don't think MarDar wanted to put Lumi together....I mean, NOT really, hence the writing they have been getting, contrasted with the Ejami writing. Lumi was a foil.
I'm not sure, when Lucas first came he was written better. He was smarter written. He had scenes with Kate even. Then someone flipped the switch, he lost all his smarts and all he does is order people to stay away from EJ and scowl over him to everyone while looking like an idiot for Sami.
I think the way they have used Lucas since his return is a great injustice to the character. He has so many ties on screen now and the Roberts family could have had a story of their own. Instead, Lucas became Sami's housefrau.
Lucas was brought back for Will's coming out story, and he was only going to have a short run on the show, but Bryan held out for a longer contract. So MarDar had to come up with some kind of story line for him, and the broken engagement/insta-reunion rebound with Sami is what he got. I'm by no means an expert on these things, but even with a longer contract, wouldn't TPTB still have the option of getting rid of him at the end of each 10 - 13 (?) week cycle?

I agree - the best threads, in my opinion, are the ones that showcase great discussion/debate - even amongst fans with opposite favorites. We used to see that quite a lot around here.
Interestingly it seems like it typically happens the most when the show is at it's worst.

Compared to when in the past? This thread has been about as active (in terms of number of posts and number of individual posters) as most of the other weekly spoiler threads. Okay. this board has just been a buzz with activity. I just couldn't find any when I was looking for it. It felt like a holiday. And I perceived it to be a slow couple of days.
But I'm sure someone has gone through the posts on this board over the last two days and counted the individual posters then compared them to the number of posters from this period last year.
That way the debate would be perception versus reality. Cause arguing perception versus perception is useless in this case. And acting like we are using hard facts to back our positions is fruitless.

Oh, and arguing perception around here has been going on for years now; it didn't just start a few days ago.

All sarcasm aside...I really am confused as to why you think it seems quiet.
Although I know that Lysie is out of the country...and given the amount she posts, I suppose that could explain some of it.

Well, unless your holidays are at Times Square at rush hour, I'll have to disagree with you there. Perception is a funny thing, I guess. When I last looked at this board earlier yesterday this discussion was on page 49 I believe. If you think things are jumping, cool beans. It's noon and 3/4 of the posters I'm used to seeing hasn't posted yet. But what do I know?

Actually, I don't know why anyone would consider a two day period significant in the history of a long running board at all. I asked Partnersincrime what she was talking about, because really - would most people seriously refer to something to days ago with as broad a term as 'the past?' Even if it is the past in the strictest sense of the word?
But - someone could very easily put the terms 'week' and 'spoilers' into the search box and set the parameters to search the Days board. Then look at the number of posts. They could also use a way to compare the different numbers of posters for a few of those weeks. The whole process would only take about ten minutes. They could do that if they wanted to discuss actual facts instead of making wild guesses, I suppose.

I started reading this post and got bored halfway through it. I don't care. This is what we are talking about? Really?! This show sucks! Amazing, considering you are apparently the one who started the topic. :)
Anyway, I hope you find a more entertaining way to spend your time.

I also mentioned the cliffhanger and the majority of the post was about Days but that obvious doesn't cause a stir like the slow posting. Talk about making news out of nothing. LOL!
Thanks Days for giving us so much to talk about. That's like going to see a movie and someone mentioning the rain and deciding to talking about that. That movie must have been lame.
I'm done with this posting until it picks back up again.

Just a reminder that posting about fans and fanbases is not allowed. If you don't like a post, either disagree with the content, "dislike", or don't respond. There's no need to bash the poster for talking about it in the first place.

I agree with you on that - I never quite knew why Will suddenly saw Rafe as father of the year (and then promptly lost all interest in Rafe and the happy family about a month later). But I think the show was only interested in that element with Rafe. I rarely get the idea that Will cares about Lucas.
I think Will only saw Rafe as a father cause his dad was not in town, but I think he sincerly cares for both.
that makes no sense because its not like Lucas abandoned his kids. He was gone fir two years. Allie visited him and he asked Will to go with him. Will has no reason to disrespect his loving father for Rafe and definitely not EJ. Where's the Salem brain cause no one has it right now. ETA: it sure gets quiet when people get fed up with the BS. I wish Days would take note of that. It makes plenty of sense because Lucas was absent for his life, whether he was asked to go or not.
I never thought Ej tried to be a father figure to Ej, there were no replacing.

John decides to look into Ian.
Too bad they wasted the character/actor. He had so much potential.
Thanks Angie!

There's new captions but all the pictures look like this week.
Is it really going to be the same day all next week as all this week? How long do we have to suffer with Lucas in that shirt?

There's new captions but all the pictures look like this week. Is it really going to be the same day all next week as all this week? How long do we have to suffer with Lucas in that shirt? Yeah, they've become lazy with the photos. Or they don't actually want us to see anything. But you know how long Days days can be so the orange peril could go on for sometime.
