Gone, But Not Forgotten!

Jack and an elevator exit /death would be fitting. Old Jack hated elevators and I could see recent Jack hating them too!

As much of a JnJ fan as I am, and as much as a Jack fan as I am, at this point I might be let down by him simply leaving on a book tour or walking away from Salem. Yes, the character of Jack Deveraux was rising from the dead on a yearly basis for a while there, but I think for me at least, having Jack simply leave wouldn't provide enough closure for me as a viewer. If JnJ had perhaps been written better, if there had been less controversy around MA's leaving, I probably could have accepted Jack just leaving, but now it seems like it would be kind of anti-climactic and like it wouldn't give me closure.

I don't know, that's just my opinion.

The fact that Jack is leaving at all, is the biggest issue, when his SL potential was the best that it has ever been in a very long time. An heroic death my seem fitting and a sign that Jack is no longer fearful of his future. I personally don't want to see Jack physically die, I think we all would prefer a "presumed" death, so that he can return one day. It would not be fitting to have Jack die on screen in the arms of Jennifer or Abby, that is closure in my mind and would not allow for a return. Here's to hoping

I think what I was trying to say is what you are saying. I don't by any means want to see Jack die in Abby or Jennifer's arms, because that would be way too much closure for me! Even knowing the resolution to Melaswen, I STILL cry when he "dies" in 2003 because it is way too real. Closure to me simply means not having Jack run away or go on a book tour. That would be a cop out in my books (pardon the pun). I always want there to be a chance for MA to return.

I don't know. It kinda screams "Dr. Drake Ramoray" to me.

I hate this show.

I can see Jack getting into the elevator to leave and we never see him again. The building explodes and we never know if Jack made it out in time. Maybe the explosion causes him to run off to some place and stay there because his PTSD kicks into overdrive. But we won't find that out until the show has about a month left to air and they want a happy ending for JnJ.

Thanks for update, Jason. With all the different tunnels, elevator, warehouse, etc., it looks like there is going to be quite a few different groups of people trapped or injured together.

Maybe after a long exposure though. Lexie was held prisoner in the tunnels for 6 months, so maybe that's why she got so sick. Being in the tunnels for a day or two probably wouldn't cause as much damage.

Much prefers sweevil, snarky EJ over Father Figure Fucktard Eejiot.

This really is sounding pretty amazing - warehouse with catwalk? Multiple tunnels? I'm getting so excited!

I am curious about something, though - given they are ending things with this big cliffhanger - does anyone think they'll end the day ahead showings in Canada? I have a hard time believing they'll allow the outcome to air there and then go into the 2 week break.

Good question. My guess would be that there won't be a Friday show for Canada, but I could be wrong. It would be a massive letdown if they aired that day and ruined the whole cliffhanger.

I'm excited for the tunnels and everything, but if the report that its just Brady and Chad searching for Melanie and Andrew that's going to be a pretty big letdown and I will be fully depending on the rest of the episode to make up for it. Knowing that nearly everyone is in this episode besides Sonny and Billie gives me hope for some great soap. I always love big cliffhangers where everyone and anyone can die and I like to see where they go with it. Who will be dead? (Well sadly we know from casting spoilers) but we don't know who will be injured and clinging to life. I like to see which stars get to shine when they normally are just talking about nothing on this show. Stunt doubles and sets are the exciting part of this slow reveal Jason is doing. The cast isn't really going to provide any surprises.

The Canadian feed would last air on Thursday, July 26 (for the US July 27 episode) and then not air again until Friday August 10 (for the US August 13 episode).
