I'm so excited to see the build up for Jarlena vs EJ (Sami and Will) for Dimera Enterprises. If well written, this could be a great story. A fight for power. I've always wanted to see EJ and Brady go up against each other as heads of DE and Titan. Days always screws up corporate stories though. CW vs MW, for example! So I'm not expecting much!
I gotta admit, I'm fast-forwarding this whole "Gabi stalker/Mel kidnapping" story, so I have no clue what's happening with that now. But I've heard, it's supposed to be building up to something big next week and into the cliffhanger week....so I should make a point to watch.
And as for the EJ and Sami scenes.....they were perfect: from the almost kiss to the hug at the end! There were a lot of varying emotions expressed in those scenes and I loved all of it. James and Ali did a great job and the dialogue was really well written! Why can't the show always be like this?
I have been watching the Gabi/Melanie/Chad kidnap story. When did Gabi turn into an obsessed nut? Last time I watch she was the butter wouldn't melt in her mouth type. Guess she's the bad seed. The story is silly. If Gabi aims to be a true crazy, she needs to read up on Jan Spears. Melanie has changed quite a bit - she's far more subdued than she used to be - kind of lost her feisty factor. Chad is the same - kind of just there. The new guy - is his name Andrew- he livens things up. The actor is good. But I wouldn't miss this story if it suddenly went poof. And where is Gabi's detective brother, who was supposedly keeping an eye on her? Oh, yeah, I forgot, he's too busy trying to put EJ in jail. Wonder if he'll even know about this whole fake stalker/hostage thing when it goes down?
I don't really understand the point of this story line, assuming there is a point.

Sounds like story IS going to go "poof" or maybe "kaboom" on July 27. It's pretty funny to me that the big Olympics cliffhanger that likely leads to the death of a couple characters was put into motion by freakin' Gabi. Apparently Gabi is the new big bad in Salem. LMAO. You mean something will actually blow up? *does happy dance* I am a fan of soap opera explosions. :cheer:

I must like the color; I know I do, lol. I even sort of, kinda liked James' orange pants. Though I think I like the color better in a shirt.
Oh dear. :facepalm:I will admit...in a pinch...(like a vice grip, cannot breathe and kick in to survival mode type of pinch)...I would choose the orange shirt over the pants. No question.
I'm a huge fan of orange ;) I don't mind orange pants (actually own a pair myself) and I have orange shoes, shirts, dresses, etc. Although I don't think the color orange looks bad on Bryan, I really don't like the fit of this shirt at all! It makes him look frumpy....and standing next to EJ and Sami, who are impeccably dressed, just make him look worse. Wardrobe needs to get their act together!! Some people look great, and then others look like they belong in a Glamour Don't I should have known you'd chime in on the orange debate.
I do agree on the wardrobe department hits and misses. Generally I think things have been a bit better lately - I feel like we're seeing characters dressed more appropriately for the most part. EJ in the occasional t-shirt and/or track pants; Sami wearing dresses rather than plaid and denim all the time; Ian generally dresses well; Nicole's maternity clothes haven't been too bad thus far; Marlena almost always looks impeccably dressed. However, there are still some odd choices here and there. I'm not a fan of the orange shirt on Lucas - but a few weeks back they had him in a tight fitting blue shirt that looked damn fine on him. Every now and again Will looks great - and then he's dressed like Mr. Rogers. (Or Jack...who almost always seems to be sporting the Mr. Rogers look).
I'm really curious to see how they'll dress Kristen. That could be all kinds of fun.

I thought EJ/Sami were MUCH better today than yesterday which always seemed precariously close to being a PSA against the dangers of domestic violence (or, at the very least, a "Very Special Episode") . Carolyn & Richard can always spin gold out of shit.
I really liked how when they showed everyone trying to track down where Melanie might have gone, they checked with the people they SHOULD have checked with! Even the long shots! Philip, Maggie, Dario, yadda yadda. It made so much logical sense (thank you, Carolyn!) Also, I'm glad we finally have SOME sort of motive for Andrew's behavior beyond him being crazy -- he wants to be with Melanie. THANK YOU! For weeks now it's seemed like his only motivation was because he was crazy & wanted to help Gabi, but I've NEVER understood why. There was no motive. Now that it's clear that he's crazy & wants Melanie, he has a solid motive for his actions (and the crazy is just an amplifier).
I really liked John/Marlena/Lucas conspiring against EJ. Based on everything EJ's done in the past to all 3 of them, it would make logical sense that they'd want to get rid of him. I'm also impressed that someone FINALLY remembered that John's a DiMera (even though I hated the story, the fact that it happened makes it cannon until someone writes around it) and is entitled to a stake in DiMera Enterprises (which is just some company that some writer pulled out of their ass a few years ago that had never existed until it suddenly did one day). I also like the fact that it wasn't so easy for them to do. I am amused by the irony that John is a blood DiMera while EJ is not (unless it does turn out that John is EJ's father as has been speculated which WOULD make EJ a blood DiMera again in a VERY ironic fashion...)

But yes, in contrast to EJ and Sami's more "dressy" appearance it looks "frumpier" even though I think he looked nice.
By the way, hi! Haven't seen you around these parts. :)

The moments between E.J. and Sami were very sweet today. I really liked the ending scenes, where he had his hand on her back and they gave each other a hug.
I thought the scene with Hope and Bo where she is talking on the phone to Ciara was cute and sweet, particularly the inclusion of Theo in their plans.
Andrew was awesome today, but the only thing was that I couldn't believe someone would enjoy Melanie's company. I'll just chalk up to his being a psycho.

This episode actually seemed to moving the story forward in plausible ways. If John battling EJ for DiMera Enterprises is a TomSell tweak, then I'm pleasantly surprised, because it's a logical and potentially intriguing route to take. Salem is finally addressing Melanie's absence, and indeed throwing all the names that ought to be in the mix. While Cameron being rushed into a romance with Abigail is a sign of what's currently wrong with soaps today, I am not totally hating the couple. EJ not being willing to tell just what he was doing the night of Stefano's murder definitely has my interest peaked. (EJ didn't kill him, so why not spill?) Finally this is the best writing for EJami that I've seen in eons, and I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts.

I won't talk about Sami/EJ because there are already plenty discussing that. But..Andrew...damn...he's fine. I just wish he wasn't psycho. I do have to wonder...did anyone talk to Will yet about Mel's disappearance? Not sure if I missed that or not. Will knew that Gabi was trying to break them up and he and Abby were suspicious of Gabi's stalker. Would they not put two and two together? At least Will...he knew she wanted Mel out of the picture. Oh and speaking of shirts...everyone is talking about Lucas...but I got to say I really like that pink shirt on Andrew. :D

LMAO. Anytime a Hernandez is driving story I get depressed, but even I will concede that I can at least understand why a character like Rafe would be setting stuff in motion. Gabi on the other hand, just seems so random and out of left field. I guess I should have been paying more attention to her character over the past couple of years, but she's Rafe sister so I didn't see the point.
I will give her kudos for helping Salem get rid of its little Madison problem, however.

I like Lucas in scenes with John and Marlena. More of this please.
I'm realllllly not interested in watching Lucas/Sami/EJ again. That was so 2007.
Loved the mentions of Max, Chelsea, Nicholas, Philip and Dario when it comes to tracking down Melanie. Those were the logical people to call and I'm glad it was written that Chad and Daniel were smart enough to call those people first.

Why couldn't EJ tell Sami what he was doing when Stefano got shot? Is he covering for someone? Or are the rumors true about MarDar not really killing off Stefano off and EJ is somehow involved with the coverup? And I wonder who he was talking to on the phone when Sami came up to him in the HTS the other day?
Not only is the show picking up the pace, but I'm interested enough to have questions! Yes, I aagree it's perplexing. Who was he talking to? I like your theory. I can't say enough about the fantastic Ejami -ness. Amazing stuff. No one does it like them. I loved how they talked about how wrong they were for trying to keep the kids away from each other. And loved how they were sexy and hot, then later tender with each other. The writers are getting them, as others have stated.
I like Andrew to the point that I wish Gabi would take the fall and Andrew would get off. Maybe he can turn state's evidence and testify against her.

My hat goes to whoever wrote these scenes. ejami was amazing. this is exactly the way i have always wanted them to be written.
Carolyn Culliton wrote it. She always nails it and is pretty much a goddess IMO. Seriously, if she (and her husband) wrote every Days script, they could pretty much fix any plot issues with their grasp of the characters, the right dynamics for them and their perfect dialogue. This show is so lucky to have them. I agree. They're excellent.

I wish there was a way for him to stay on the show.
