Just because there are good things/scenes for Ejami doesn't mean that the story is focusing on THEM....remember the summer of 2007? the summer of 2010? Those are two times at least that Ejami had positive scenes and the story was not favorable to them in the end, and then we have Ken Corday waiting in the wings ready to announce his next brilliant plan if the ratings continue to tank and he goes into panic mode....ALL OF THIS can change in 3 months...regardless of what is written, UNLESS NBC or whomever is running the show now WANTS to get it cancelled and they will do nothing as a result of declining ratings....I suspect if November Days doesn't see a significant improvement in ratings that those that are happy today will be miserable by December....enjoy while it lasts...no couple fanbase, especially of Sami is EVER happy for longer than 4 months....
I don't think anyone is convinced that Ejami is going to have a story that is solely based on them. I am sure they are going to probably be in a heated story where they hate each other all over again, many ( well at least me) is just happy that they are sharing scenes.

I been stop being invested in a couple when I know the writers are going to sweep them under the rug. ;)

I feel more comfortable knowing NBC and Sony are heavily promoting Ejami as the face of DOOL right now. could it change ofcourse. The ejami i saw this week though is pulling in alot of buzz and if the writing is for them as opposed to against them and then they write better umbrellas stories for all the actors and don't just concentrate on two or three always in their same orbits then I'm confident people will be drawn to the show. The ratings depend on good writing , writing that is contemporary and has an edge . We have great actors or at least the core ones are but they need consistent writing and until we get it then who knows what wil happen. I plan to enjoy what i get for as long as i get it.

I was just about to post how weird I think it is that Days doesn't seem to be promoting much of anything these days, lol. I think they're being unusually quiet. July is a sweeps month and they're about to have a huge cliffhanger. And we're only hearing from the actors. I think that's weird.

Ejami, Ejole, Lumi, Safe... I'm surprised people still give a shit.

Can we just scrap the whole twenty-something crew and start fresh with new people?

LoL, that shows how little of a fuck I give.

They could all die tomorrow and I wouldn't be bothered in the slightest. The fact that people still care who ends up with who is astonishing to me. Haven't we learned by now that the payoff is never coming?

I could have sworn EJ and Nicole were together on and off since 2008.

I just want to like the show, and now it's not too bad. Actually, I really like it for about a year now.

Let's put it in the perspective of Kristen - you know they're not going to give you a good story, but you still care and you're glad she's coming back.

If you still care about anybody connected to this show, you probably readjusted the definition of 'payoff' years ago.

At least with the characters in that age group there are clear rooting interests. We know who the good guys are, we know who the bad guys are, we know who we're supposed to be rooting for and against. The same can't be said about the thirty-somethings, whose romantic entanglements have become such a clusterfuck that I can't tell which end is up anymore. Who are we supposed to root for in that mess?

I think there's a difference in caring about a character and caring about a couple. Though I'm sure none of us will end up happy, I still think that's a bit different.

I think that we all care about couples in some way or another. Let's face it, if we didn't, we wouldn't watch soaps. We'd watch CNN, 20/20, the news channels, you get my drift. Judging by your banner it tells me that you like John and Marlena? I think that for a lot of us it's along the lines that we're not obsessed with one. And we like a good show.

I've never been one who needed clear rooting interests. Going back to Kristen again, I was looking forward to seeing the whole story play out, but there was a big part of me that was rooting for Kristen. I might have been just as happy if she'd ended up getting what she wanted (except EJ, who clearly belonged with his mom).

Actually, with the heavy handed way Days goes about setting up their rooting interests (when it comes to good vs. bad) it's better when they leave things ambiguous.

I don't think the two can be separated. If you care about the couple, in 99% of the cases, it's because you care about the characters.

I think they are ashamed at the mess they are turning out right now...well at least I would be if I was them! They should be so embarrassed in front of their friends!

I like John and Marlena just fine, but I really don't care about couples. I like characters. I have no issue with the two of them not being onscreen together, and I don't have an issue with them breaking up, and I bet the happiest I could ever be with this show again would include John being dead. I mean, the best times J&M have had together were when they were apart, so it was definitely a good thing I didn't tune out then, lol. I just think they look pretty together, and some of their stories happen to be my favorite. I said recently that until about 2006 I really never had issues with any couples. There were some I rooted for and some I didn't, but I wasn't opposed to any of them being onscreen and having their time together. I don't know what changed a few years ago, but I've struggled to enjoy pretty much any couple since then. But even moreso, I've struggled to enjoy the individual characters. I remember hearing in 2005 that there was going to be some major casting news, and I was so worried because I didn't want anyone to be let go except maybe Josh Taylor. That's really far from how I feel now except that I still would like for Josh Taylor to go.

Remember who you're talking to...maybe I'm the 1%, but I've never had to like a character in order to like a couple.

I agree with you, Kenny. I don't think anyone will end up happy in the end either. That's become the MO at Days. During the glory days, the root for couples were clear as day. Yeah, they broke them up and played musical bedpartners but in the end it was just to create drama for the root for couple so they could reunite in the end. Now they create a root couple, bust 'em up, create another root couple, bust 'em up, :blah: . It has divided the audience into these venomous, angry fanbases who never see any payoff for their interest invested and attack each other out of pure frustration. It's very nice that she tweeted the storylines were going to be good through November and I hope she's right. I think the show is a lot better right now and if they build on the tone they are setting, it could very well be good through November.

Oh and....They better do something fucking awesome with Eileen now that they have her back! I am so tired of the wasted potential I have been seeing when it comes to returning characters. The storyline possibilities with Kristen and Susan are endless.
