Looks like Marlena does a little lying tomorrow. Maybe she needs to refresh her memory but she had an affair, Roman divorced her. She didn't leave him for John, Roman left her.
They've like always written this incorrectly afterwards which is really annoying. She had an affair, Roman basically threw her out, she tried to get back together with Roman for OVER A YEAR, he kept rejecting her, and then HE left Salem. She didn't get back together with John until three years after that.
Maybe I read the comments wrong, but I don't think Carrie says when Marlena chose John.
iirc, Marlena chose to go to John at the plane and it eventually did break Roman's heart. They stayed together, back and forth until Roman finally realized it was hopeless after Maison Blanche. Then Marlena thought Roman was dead. Then just when John and Marlena were going to get back together, Kristen brought Roman back with a fatal illness where she HAD to give him hope so she had to torment John and herself in the process, then eventually somehow incredibly inexplicably it became a contest between Roman and John, and in the end Roman backed out, technically, before she could officially choose (even though the only logical choice was John) because Belle almost died from penicillin.
It bothered me to no end that Roman seemed to think he was stepping down. From Marlena's standpoint, I can see her thinking she chose John because imo she really had, John and Roman were the ones unsure - I was just pissed at her and hated that lame Roman who used any excuse to try to get her back, even lying that he was still sick when he wasn't, even after John risked his life to save him, who sadly still hangs around today doing nothing but feeling superior to everyone else. I remember conversations where she reassured John that she loved him different but more than Roman or some such annoying thing as if there was any comparison.
Sorry, the one thing I'm bitter about is Roman surviving to this day and taking up a character slot on the show that could be better used.
When I say 'Roman,' I mean Wayne Northrop. Josh Taylor is not and never will be Roman. Roman left Salem years ago after saying goodbye to his sobbing, equally heartbroken wife at the airport. End of Roman :soapbox: I wonder why Chris Kositchek still hangs around at the police station.

LOL! Okay, I have trouble disagreeing.
I liked WN okay. I liked Chris okay. I've never liked JT as Roman.
Bo - Stalkers don't ususally write the phone number of their victims down.
Wish I could enjoy these sweet moments with Caustin - buying the house, preparing for the new baby, etc...
Did Bo say stalkers don't usually write the phone numbers of their victims down? Granted, I don't know what the rules of engagement are for stalkers, but that line sounded very silly to me for some reason and I laughed when I read it.
I'll try and watch it tomorrow, if my schedule permits! Thanks for posting!
like how honest she is he always loved that about her :frustration::offs: Grow some balls Austin your wife is a fickle slut who dosent deserve you.. This episode is not worth my time watching Thanks for posting
There is clearly only so much a master like Richard Culltion can do with an episode. When the only 2 stories played are Melanie's kidnapping and Austin/Carrie/Rafe, it's doomed from the first grain of sand.
That said, I *really* liked the Carrie/Marlena scene. Never let it be said that, no matter what a fucking stupid mess her story is, Christie Clark doesn't bring her "A" game and never fails to make me feel for Carrie. However, I did have to laugh when Marlena greeted Carrie, clad in all of that black with her hands clasped together, she reminded me of a stern Mother Superior prepared to give Carrie guidance.
I'm a tad resentful that Melanie warrents such a nice, visually interesting dungeon/catacomb set. IMO, if anyone is chained up in a dungeon, it should be EJ, Will, Daniel, and Brady -- all nearly naked. Whatever happened to the days when the psycho, obsessive female chained up the object of her obsession half naked for an entire summer? What do we have this summer? Melanie in a baggy sweater and yoga pants. *shudder*
Love the lighting of the tunnel scenes. If they're an indication of how the explosion scenes are going to look, next week's cliffhanger should be dazzling. :applause:
After today's show, I'm even more certain that letting Carrie go is a huge mistake on the part of TomSell. This is one Kate vendetta that I would be cheering for - poisoned brownies, empty elevator shafts, talking dolls, whatever it would take. :flipoff:

I agree. Can you imagine if Austin were killed off in the cliffhanger leaving Carrie to play widow, reconnect with Rafe, and keep Kate away from her baby that Kate doesn't feel Carrie deserves?

It would be amazing! I don't know who is in charge at Days now, but they should absolutely rethink their decision.

So glad to see that Marlena is on. Wonder if this is the last of Deidre's scenes with Christie (Carrie)? Hope not. I heard that Drake (John) and Christie don't get proper goodbye scenes before she leaves
I wish they would have wrote something better than to moan about Rafe AGAIN!
What else could they write? The only story Carrie has had is her "thing"for Rafe. That is why her character has been so wasted- no story.

Thank you for clearing this up. It is exactly the way I remember it happening.

I really enjoyed Carrie and Marlena's scenes today as well  I don't know what it was but there was just something about them that made them different than all the other Carrie/ Marlena scenes
and I agree I was also little disappointed that their last scene (?) together was all about Rafe :-/

This is off topic, but I was wondering what scene was that in your avatar.

Thanks! I guess I miss that scene before their wedding. You're right. 86 was the best! Love the West Virgina storyline. Talk about the sexual tension between them!
